00:00¡Hey!
00:02¡Hola!
00:04¡Hola!
00:06¡Hola!
00:08¡Hola de Costa Rica!
00:10¡Majalo por hacer este filme
00:12¡Suchas un divertido!
00:14¡Lovedo!
00:16¡Oh, gracias!
00:18¿Qué es eso?
00:20¡Oh, es mi
00:22set for you guys!
00:24¡Yay!
00:25¡Thank you very much!
00:27I really loved your chemistry
00:29on screen, I really bought into
00:31the whole sisters vibe, it was very
00:33happy and awesome
00:35to see, to watch.
00:37I read all about this
00:39on screen tests they do on
00:41actors to see if they click, how are those
00:43like for you guys?
00:45It's got chemistry, and
00:47it's really fun, you get to
00:49like act, imagine
00:51that you're like in the set,
00:53and they test how like
00:55your chemistry is with another
00:57person, and you get to do
00:59all kind of stuff
01:01like you get to
01:03sing, you get to
01:05dance, you get to experience
01:07what the other person's about
01:09and what they love, and yeah.
01:11Sounds fun, was it?
01:13It is! Oh my gosh, yeah.
01:15I think we both bonded very, very
01:17quickly, and had a bunch
01:19of fun.
01:21You have something as iconic as the original movie,
01:29and then someone says, okay
01:31we're gonna do the live action, and you're chosen
01:33to do them, so when you find out
01:35what do you do? Do you go and watch
01:37the original one to see as
01:39much detail as you can, or
01:41do you stay away so as to not to do
01:43the same thing? What was
01:45the roadmap for you guys?
01:47I just, somehow
01:49some way, I just stopped
01:51watching it, so I can like do it
01:53another way, so everyone can see like
01:55the new Lilo.
01:57Cool, yeah, I totally, I love that.
01:59Yeah, absolutely, it's your own interpretation.
02:01I think, no, that's a great question.
02:03I think, I mean, we're both
02:05big, big fans of the original.
02:07And, you know, I mean, I think
02:09as a fan, I really
02:11was wanting to be careful and
02:13pay a lot of mind to that, and
02:15Tia did an incredible job playing
02:17a very iconic character,
02:19and bringing that to life, and
02:21I wanted to be able to
02:23take the essences that we loved from her,
02:25and I really wanted to bring her
02:27forward in that sort of way, but also
02:29I was really excited to have my own take on it,
02:31and I think that having
02:33a reimagination allows
02:35you to do that because
02:37it's in person now,
02:39we're doing humans, you know?
02:41So it's like, it's almost
02:43refreshing, and you can't do it the same way as
02:45an animation.
02:47And, you know, to repeat something
02:49that's so iconic, you just can't.
02:51So I think
02:53we're creating our own iconic version,
02:55hopefully, and we got to go into that
02:57nuance, you know?
02:59Yeah, I agree. It has a lot of heart, actually.
03:01I really love that. Thank you.
03:03Speaking about heart, there's a line in the movies
03:05that, to be quite frank with you guys,
03:07it always makes my eyes sort of teary.
03:09When you say about how
03:11ohana means not leaving anyone behind,
03:13and that a family, albeit
03:15small and broken, can still work,
03:17that really gets to me.
03:19So I was curious to know about
03:21your personal relationship
03:23to that concept.
03:25I think it's a foundation for us in Hawaii.
03:27I think it's instilled in the culture.
03:29It's a really big deal in Hawaii
03:31because you literally grow up
03:33with your ohana.
03:35Yeah, you do. I mean, and I think, like,
03:37that's, like, one of the first, if not the first
03:39values that you do learn, is that
03:41nobody gets left behind.
03:43And it doesn't matter. You have a hanai family
03:45and you have a blood-related family
03:47and hanai means, you know,
03:49they're family that you choose and
03:51family that's taken in that isn't your blood,
03:53which is really cool that we bring that in.
03:55So I think we both had a huge sense of
03:57pride in sharing that.
03:59That's why Lilo & Stitch is so iconic, yeah.
04:01So the film is drenched in your culture
04:03and we've had some more of that
04:05Polynesian-inspired stories
04:07like Mohana as well and everything.
04:09Is there any particular story
04:11of your culture that you would like to
04:13see on the big screen next?
04:15Oh, like in a future project or so?
04:17Yeah, sure.
04:19I mean, ooh.
04:21I'd love to see some more
04:23pigeon Hawaii comedy.
04:25I would love to see a pigeon movie.
04:27Oh my gosh. That would be so funny.
04:29Or, you know, Lilo & Stitch 2 would be great.
04:31Yes! Let's do that.
04:33Let's do that.
04:35Calm me up. I'll be up for that.
04:37Hey. Guys, thank you very much.
04:39I wish you all the best.
04:41And thank you for your time.
04:42You too.
04:49I'm gonna give you to the count of three, Stitch.
04:51One.
04:53Uh-huh.
04:55Uh-huh.
04:57Uh-huh.
04:59Uh-huh.
05:01Uh-huh.
