00:00Leaving the Capitol, it's about 7 a.m. and we got our big, beautiful bill passed.
00:07So, that's great news. Not the end of the story, but great news.
00:15Worth noting, look, fundamentally this bill is about one very simple thing.
00:21Do your taxes increase in December or do they not?
00:24The Democrat position is that they should increase in December.
00:28That's the Democrat position.
00:31Our position is your taxes should stay the way they are in line with the 2017 tax cuts.
00:41Economic growth has surged since then and it will surge again now that businesses and people have some certainty about what their taxation will be.
00:53We didn't just do that though.
00:56We did a lot more than we did in 2017.
00:58We actually reined in a ton of spending as well.
01:03Especially on my committee, the Energy and Commerce Committee.
01:06You know, we were tasked with savings of 880 billion dollars and we did it through a variety of ways.
01:16Democrats will say, well, we cut Medicaid.
01:18I mean, the reality is it didn't even happen.
01:21We took the lightest touch on Medicaid possible.
01:23They lied about it constantly.
01:25The reality is we froze a lot of the spending systems that exist in Medicaid.
01:32And honestly, not even enough.
01:33I would go a lot further.
01:35And yet they still say we're, you know, taking away Medicaid from the most vulnerable.
01:39It's just all of these things are just complete lies.
01:42Complete lies.
01:44They dragged people from all over the country, disabled people, disabled kids, and said, this is where you're taking Medicaid away from.
01:52None of it's true.
01:53None of it's true.
01:55The biggest change we do in Medicaid is to put work requirements on the expansion population.
02:00The expansion population, by the way, is not the poorest people.
02:03That's the above the poverty line, folks, that states are allowed to expand to and get 90% matching funds from the federal government.
02:12It's a scam that was created by Obamacare.
02:19So, if you're an able-bodied adult with no other issues, you don't have any kids, and you refuse to work, then yes, you'll lose your Medicaid.
02:30Like, message me if you don't agree with that.
02:35Pretty common sense.
02:36Most Americans do.
02:38When we talk about work requirements for welfare, it pulls overwhelmingly positive with Americans because it's an American way.
02:45If you're going to take something, you should at least be trying.
02:50Very, very basic principle.
02:53So, there's so many good things in here.
03:00I'm particularly proud of my provision in our bill that cuts any federal funding for any kind of gender transition therapies for minors, anybody under 18.
03:14This is the new Hyde Amendment.
03:17This is what's going to stop this psychotic, just horrible trend that is hurting our children.
03:29People think it's only a few kids here and there.
03:32But, other organizations have found there's upwards of 14,000 kids that have been affected by this.
