At today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) called for a DOJ probe into a possible conspiracy to conceal former President Biden's mental state.

00:00Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Yesterday I wrote a letter to the Attorney General
00:06requesting an investigation into the conspiracy, which I don't think is too
00:12strong a word, of the mainstream media, President Biden's staff and family to
00:20hide his mental impairment during the course of his the latter years of his
00:28presidency. This is not a political matter, this transcends politics when you think
00:34about the power that the Constitution vests in the President of the United
00:38States. He's commander-in-chief, he is a leader of the free world, he is the sole
00:44authority that can determine whether America's nuclear arsenal can be
00:49unleashed. Given the dangers that the current environment of the world
00:55presents, the most dangerous environment we've seen since World War II, we know
00:59from history that wars can be precipitated as a result of mistake and
01:05miscalculation. And for this conspiracy to have hidden the impairment of the
01:12President of the United States for years and to lie consistently to the American
01:18people about his capacity to make decisions which are solely vested by the
01:22Constitution and the President of the United States is unacceptable. Again, this
01:29transcends politics. Obviously our Democratic friends are having to deal with the
01:35consequences of this politically, but what the issue I'm raising is I believe far
01:41more important. And then the most recent revelations about the the President's
01:46prostate cancer, we of course are extend our our prayers and wish him a quick
01:53recovery from that. But again, the idea that things like this that take years to
02:00develop have all of a sudden sprung to the public attention are now being
02:05addressed is just incomprehensible. And it is not possible that things like this
02:13could have just sprung up now, when we know from medical science and medical
02:20opinion that these sorts of things take years to develop. So I just don't think
02:26it's responsible for those of us in the Senate or in Congress or the American
02:32people to accept this laying down. I think we need to know what the staff knew, what the
02:41family knew, who lied to Congress, who lied to the American people, and who risked calamity
02:51due to a president who was suffering from severe mental incapacity during the latter
02:57years of his presidency.
02:59So I hope that we can get to the facts.
03:04I think this is serious enough that it bears further investigation by the United States
03:10Senate and the United States Congress, and I would ask you to consider the possibility
03:15of holding hearings on this topic.
03:19I know there may be multiple committees in the United States Senate that might have jurisdiction
03:23over this matter, and I hope we can get together with the leadership on the Democratic side
03:28and the Republican side and get to the bottom of this.
03:31I think it's too much to ask the American people just to accept what we now know to be the facts.
03:40And it's dangerous.
03:42And our republic depends on having a president who has the mental capacity to do the job.
03:51And it's clear now that President Biden did not, and I think we need to get to the bottom
03:55of this.
03:56And so I would ask all of my colleagues to join me in asking the appropriate law enforcement
04:02authorities to do an investigation to see whether any federal laws were violated.
04:09And if current law does not provide for an investigation and a prosecution based on existing law, I think
04:18as part of our oversight responsibilities, we should consider whether there need to be some
04:22policy changes which are the proper purview of the United States Congress to pass new laws
04:31to protect the American people from what we have just been through as a result of a president
04:37who was not competent to perform the job, but whose mental capacity or deficits were hidden
04:45from the American people for many years.
