In his Oval Office meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, President Trump gave a shoutout to Elon Musk.
Transcript
00:00What can South Africa do?
00:04What concessions would you like to see them make to improve relations with the United States?
00:09Then I have one more for President Ramaphosa afterwards.
00:12Well, you know, we just spoke about, I got them a very, very complex machine, 150 of them.
00:18I was asked by the President if it could help, and I did that.
00:23And, you know, I have great feeling for all countries.
00:26Look, I deal with all countries, but I have a great feeling for South Africa because I have friends.
00:31I have a couple of friends, a few friends here today.
00:34I have many friends from South Africa, but many of those friends are, they can't go back.
00:41I have, Elon is from South Africa.
00:43I don't want to get Elon involved.
00:45That's all I have to do, get him into another thing.
00:48But Elon happens to be from South Africa.
00:51This is what Elon wanted.
00:53He actually came here on a different subject, sending rockets to Mars.
00:57Okay?
00:58He likes that better.
00:59He likes that subject better.
01:00That's right.
01:01But Elon is from South Africa, and I don't want to talk to him about that.
01:04I don't want to, I don't think it's fair to him.
01:06That's right.
01:07But I will say that people are fleeing South Africa for their own safety.
01:13Their land is being confiscated, and in many cases they're being killed.
01:17And that scene of, you see how many crosses they have.
01:21Those crosses, that's a dead person in every one of them.
01:24And those trucks or cars are paying their respects to all of those dead people on a Sunday morning.
01:30That's a rough, that's a rough thing to explain away.
01:34And the problem we have, and the way, you know, a correct and a fair media exposes things.
01:44But we have a very corrupt media.
01:47They won't even report this.
01:49If this were the other way around, it would be the biggest story.
01:52Now, I will say, apartheid, terrible.
01:54That was the biggest story.
01:55That was reported all the time.
01:57This is sort of the opposite of apartheid.
02:00What's happening now is never reported.
02:03Nobody knows about it.
02:04All we know is we're being inundated with people, with white farmers from South Africa.
02:10And it's a big problem.
02:13Marco Rubio was telling me he's never seen anything like it.
02:16The numbers of people that want to leave South Africa because they feel they're going to be dead very soon.
02:21Yes, please.
02:23You know.
02:24It's a tough one.
02:25That's true again.
02:26That's true.
02:27That's true.
02:28Not more Jaguar.
02:42You know.
02:43Nope.
02:44I know he's really tense.
