00:00I spoke to Palestinian man Wasim Abghelen, a 55-year-old who moved from Gaza to Edinburgh in 1999 and has stayed here for nearly 27 years.
00:14He told me that although he has settled in Edinburgh now, he is forever fearful of a tragic phone call from back home in Gaza where he has already lost many members of his family.
00:25With the recent escalation in the war particularly worrying for Wasim.
00:30I'm actually shocked and horrified from what I hear in the news every day and also from what I'm getting from my family every time I'm speaking to them.
00:42So the news is not promising and the news is really bad and it keeps getting worse and worse.
00:51And unfortunately I don't see it is going to get easier.
00:57And from what I know from the intention of the Israeli government, it makes me even more worried of what's going to happen next.
01:05Because their intention, it looks like, to keep bombarding, to keep killing, to keep force people to flee and keep destroying their lives.
01:19Although fearful for his family's safety back in Glasgow, the tour operator described himself as an Edinburgh man and also revealed that he is a fan of Scottish rugby.
01:29Well, I am an Edinburgh man and I'm a Scotsman, I actually feel.
01:35My children born here and I actually market Scotland here and I work as a tour operator.
01:44I have a small business here and I take people around Scotland and tell them how great Scotland is and tell them the Scottish stories.
01:52which is in some actually related in the past, for example, to some of what we see in the Palestinians.
01:59But in general, I love to go to the highlands, go to see the lochs and go to see some castles.
02:06I love the nature here, it's so beautiful.
02:08And have you integrated into community?
02:10Do you go to football matches or any community events or things like that?
02:14Yes, I'm actually more hooked into rugby.
02:19Oh no?
02:19Yes, because my son used to play rugby and he gave me hooked into it and I really love the game now.
02:25I wouldn't miss any game for Scotland anymore.
02:28Oh wow, so you go to Marifid?
02:30I try to go to Marifid. If I don't go, at least watch it on the TV.
02:35Although fearful for the future of his homeland, Wasim told me he can't wait to one day get back to the beach in Gaza
02:42to have fun with his family and friends.
