IndiGo flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar encountered severe turbulence due to a hailstorm just before landing on Tuesday evening. The aircraft, carrying 227 passengers and crew, declared an emergency and landed safely at Srinagar airport around 6:30 PM.

The hailstorm damaged the aircraft's nose cone and caused luggage displacement inside the cabin. Many passengers described moments of fear, praying and later applauding the crew’s calm response.

All passengers are safe. The aircraft has been grounded for inspection, and IndiGo has launched an investigation.
