00:00We're here today because we're really celebrating the strengthening of our critical service delivery to Nowra and to the South Coast.
00:15I don't think anyone here would disagree that the most important thing we need to be doing in the state is keeping children safe.
00:21So I really, really want to thank all of the team here who's doing the work on the ground.
00:27Your work is so difficult. It's complex. When I became Minister, I've really spoken to so many caseworkers and child protection workers, out-of-home care workers,
00:38everyone in the team that's doing the difficult work, and I appreciate how complex it is, how challenging it is.
00:44And so I'm so pleased that here in Nowra, you're going to have a culturally safe, respectful place to do your work from
00:53and do the important work supporting the families, children and young people of Nowra.
00:57It is time to do things differently. This office and the co-location of DCJ services for Nowra and extension of that into the community
01:05is a sign and a symbol and an absolute invitation to make sure that we as a department help navigate with families and for community the beast that this department is.
01:16We have a combination of services here, including the important child protection work, youth justice work, homes work, anything else in DCJ permit.
01:25If community come in here, we will be able to access those resources to help support families, help support the community.
01:32We help the community. And this is a symbol of times ahead.
