00:00The UN says the aid is yet to be distributed in Gaza despite entering two days ago due to Israel's security clearance processes.
00:11U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled concepts for a so-called Golden Dome missile defense system.
00:20A pro-Kremlin former Ukrainian politician was shot dead in Madrid while dropping his children off to school.
00:30The Polish parliament has voted to extend the suspension of the right to asylum for migrants arriving through the border with Belarus.
00:41The European Union will review its trade and cooperation deal with Israel over its widening offensive in Gaza and its failure to fully lift a nearly three-month aid blockade.
00:53It will now launch a review to establish whether Israel has breached human rights obligations under the EU-Israel Association Agreement, a treaty that governs political and trade ties.
01:06Seventeen of the bloc's foreign ministers backed the move, nine voted against and one abstained.
01:15I think what it tells is that the countries see that the situation in Gaza is untenable and what we want is to really help the people and what we want is to unblock the humanitarian aid so that it will reach the people there.
01:33The European Union is Israel's largest trade partner, with annual trade worth more than 45 billion euro.
01:40Israel has rejected the EU's decision, saying its military actions are defensive in response to a war initiated by Hamas.
01:49Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oren Marmorstein said criticism of Israel emboldens the Hamas militant group and risks prolonging the conflict.
01:57The UN says that aid has not reached Palestinians yet, despite it beginning to enter Gaza two days ago.
02:07They say the delays have been due to the new Israeli security process to get aid cleared to distribution warehouses, which they've described as long, complex, complicated and dangerous.
02:18Just to make it clear, while more supplies have come in to the Gaza Strip, we have not been able to secure the arrival of those supplies into our warehouses and delivery points.
02:34In the end, about four trucks, not five, were allowed in yesterday.
02:40Today, we have a few dozen, I'm trying to get a more exact number, but that's where we are.
02:48But the point is, the logistical, the security complications and just the overall environment make this extremely, extremely difficult.
02:58The aid coming in is the first in almost three months to trickle into the enclave.
03:04Gaza has been under a complete blockade since March, preventing food, basic items, medical supplies and other critical aid from reaching residents.
03:14Because of the blockade, there's so little stuff getting in.
03:18There's no food getting in, so people are starving.
03:20There's very little medical supplies coming in.
03:25But also, the other very noticeable thing is the massive extent of destruction.
03:32I mean, Khan Yunus looks like Stalingrad.
03:35The UN Humanitarian Agency has received approval for 100 A-trucks under the new Israeli scheme,
03:41a sharp drop-off from the 600 trucks entering Gaza daily during the latest ceasefire.
03:46Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he will only allow, quote,
03:50minimal aid to enter Gaza to preserve U.S. and ally support,
03:54who criticized the images of starvation coming out of the Strip.
04:02U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled concepts for a so-called Golden Dome missile defense system.
04:09He said the scheme would cost $175 billion to complete and be operational by the end of his term.
04:15Because this is very important for the success and even survival of our country.
04:21It's a pretty evil world out there.
04:23So this is something that goes a long way toward the survival of this great country.
04:29And as I said, we'll be discussing Canada.
04:33They want to hook in and they want to see if they can be a part of it.
04:37That sort of makes sense.
04:38I guess that's what I was talking about from day one, you know.
04:41It automatically makes sense.
04:43And it won't be very difficult to do, but they'll pay their fair share.
04:46Questions have already been raised about the cost and practicality of the idea.
04:51Critics say the idea is too expensive, potentially ineffective, and could trigger an arms race in space.
04:57Just the space-based components of the Golden Dome could cost $542 billion over the next two decades,
05:04according to the U.S. Congressional Budget Office.
05:10At least six Ukrainian soldiers were killed on Tuesday by a Russian missile strike
05:15on a training exercise in Ukraine's Sumy border region.
05:19According to Ukraine's National Guard, six servicemen were killed
05:23and more than ten were injured during the attack.
05:26Russia's Defense Ministry had earlier released a video
05:29purporting to show the attack which state media claimed had killed up to 70 people.
05:36The Sumy region has come under repeated bombardment
05:39after Ukraine launched an incursion into Russia's neighboring region of Kusk.
05:44Meanwhile, the Kremlin released footage of what it claimed to be a visit
05:49by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the region of Kusk
05:52for the first time since Moscow claimed its drove Ukrainian forces out of the area last month.
05:58Kyiv, however, denies Moscow's claims of retaking Kusk.
06:03According to a map of military activity released by Ukraine,
06:06Ukrainian troops continue to hold a thin line of land hard against the border,
06:12but still inside Russia.
06:13The Polish parliament has approved the extension of legislation
06:21that temporarily suspends the right to asylum for migrants
06:25entering the country through its border with Belarus.
06:29Prime Minister Donald Tusk defended the need to extend the law,
06:33which he has framed as necessary for national security.
06:36He and his government have argued that Moscow and Minsk
06:41are deliberately encouraging migrants to cross
06:43in an attempt to destabilize Europe.
06:45The legislation has been widely criticized for the country
07:15by human rights groups, which have warned that it is not compatible
07:19with either international or European asylum law.
07:22Rights groups estimate that hundreds have died
07:25at the Poland-Belarus border since 2021,
07:28with thousands said to have been subject to illegal
07:30and violent pushbacks by Polish border guards.
07:37Former Ukrainian politician Andrey Portnov was shot dead
07:41outside a U.S. school in a wealthy suburb of Madrid.
07:44According to Spanish authorities, the 52-year-old once served
07:49as a top aide to Ukraine's former pro-Russian president,
07:53Viktor Yanukovych, who notoriously withdrew from signing
07:57an association agreement with the EU,
08:00sparking the deadly Your Maiden protests of 2013 and 2014.
08:05Portnov was reportedly dropping off his children
08:08when gunmen opened fire, hitting him multiple times.
08:12Police received a call and rushed to the scene.
08:16He presented incompatible lesions with his life,
08:18caused by at least three attacks,
08:21with fire weapons, which only confirmed
08:24the death of this person.
08:27During Yanukovych's presidency,
08:30Portnov was seen as a pro-Kremlin figure
08:33and helped draft laws targeting the Euromaiden protest movements.
08:38After Yanukovych fled to Russia,
08:41Portnov was sanctioned by Western governments
08:43for his actions as part of the former administration.
08:48He was later removed from the EU blacklist.
08:51The UK government announced it will be suspending
09:01free trade negotiations with Israel
09:03and announced new sanctions on settlements in the West Bank.
09:06The UK's Foreign Secretary David Lammy
09:09has criticised Israel's military actions in Gaza
09:13as well as violence by Israeli settlers.
09:15I'm announcing that we have suspended negotiations
09:19with this Israeli government
09:20on a new trade, free trade agreement.
09:25We will be reviewing cooperation with them
09:28under the 2030 bilateral roadmap.
09:32The Netanyahu's government's actions
09:35have made this necessary.
09:37Yesterday, Minister Smodrick
09:39even spoke
09:41of Israeli forces cleansing Gaza.
09:47Destroying what's left
09:49of residents, Palestinians
09:52being relocated, he said,
09:55to third countries.
09:57We must call this what it is.
10:00It is extremism.
10:03International pressure has been building on Israel
10:06following a nearly three-month blockade
10:09of supplies into Gaza
10:10that led to famine warnings.
10:13The United States has voiced concerns
10:15over the growing hunger crisis
10:17and France and Canada mirrored the United Kingdom
10:20and threatened to sanction Israel
10:22if it does not halt its offensive
10:24and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
10:32Indian author Banu Mushtaq
10:34and translator Deepa Bashti
10:36won the International Booker Prize
10:38for Heartlamp.
10:40The collection of 12 short stories
10:41was written over a period
10:43of more than 30 years.
10:46It chronicles the everyday lives
10:47and struggles of women in southern India.
10:50This moment feels like a thousand fire files
10:55lighting up a single sky,
10:58brief, brilliant, and utterly collective.
11:02Heartlamp's win marks the first time
11:05the prestigious Booker Prize
11:06was given to a collection of short stories.
11:12Heavy rainfall across Spain
11:14has filled up dam reservoirs across the country,
11:18forcing some to release some of their water.
11:21El Atazar Dam Reservoir in Madrid
11:23has been releasing water in a controlled manner,
11:25but now that the dam has reached maximum capacity,
11:28it is being forced to release water
11:30from an additional spillway.
11:33The heavy rainfall is in stark contrast
11:35with last year's stubborn drought.
11:37Scientists say climate change
11:39is making swings between dryness
11:41and downpour more acute.
11:42and the dryness and the Será berat
11:45have been forced to release water.
11:47Can you please give up a little bit of water
11:48of the water to get a little bit more
11:49or into the water.
11:50You take it off and you take it off
11:51to the river inside.
11:51You will take it off and you take it off
11:52to the waterline.
11:53Let's wait for it.
11:53Let's wait for it.
11:54I'll see you in a second.
11:54Let's wait for it.
11:54Let's wait.
11:55Let's wait.
11:56Let's wait for it.
11:57Let's wait for it.
11:58Let's wait for it.
