00:00So in the top of the sixth inning in the Mets Red Sox game Monday night at Fenway Park, Juan Soto smacked one out to left field and just stood there.
00:07Clearly the Mets star thought it was going to be a home run, but with a 15-mile-an-hour win coming in from left field, the ball ended up hitting the top of the green monster.
00:15And because he stood and watched, Juan Soto turned what would be a double into a single.
00:20And while he was able to steal second base on the very next pitch, the Mets left him stranded on third in the 3-1 loss Monday night.
00:26Not hustling out of the box is becoming an alarming trend for Juan Soto.
00:30In Sunday's 8-2 loss against the Yankees, Soto frustrated Mets fans by not hustling after hitting a grounder to second that appeared to be a gettable base.
00:38After the game Monday night, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that he talked to Soto about the concerning trend.
00:45He thought he had it, you know, with the win and all that.
00:48And in this ballpark, you know, anywhere, but particularly in this one, with that wall right there, you gotta get out of the box.
00:54So, yeah, we'll discuss that.
00:57Soto also addressed the concerns about his hustle post-game.
01:01I think Holt's been doing very hard.
01:03If you see it today, you gotta tell.
01:06Fans are clearly not happy with the perceived lack of hustle from Soto.
01:10And can you blame them?
01:11He's only getting paid $765 million.
01:14Although, Juan Soto wasn't the only Met not to hustle out of the box last night.
01:18In the first inning, Pete Alonso watched what he thought was a home run, only to get thrown out at second.
01:23So, what do you think?
01:24Why is Juan Soto getting way more flack than Alonso?
01:27Should Soto be hustling more or do you give him a pass?
