00:21and its weaponization under your leadership.

00:24I am concerned that the president is using this book,

00:27your book, as a blueprint, as he has said.

00:31It's a blueprint for revenge.

00:33And I am concerned that your eagerness,

00:36a childlike giddiness to carry out the president's revenge tour,

00:40you've shown yourself to be unserious in your statements

00:44before you were sworn in and some after.

00:47You've shown yourself unfit to lead this important agency.

00:51I was an impeachment manager for President Trump's second impeachment.

00:57It was a sad, solemn duty.

01:00And so I wanted to ask you about that.

01:02Mr. Patel, as you and the president continue to weaponize

01:07and investigate his perceived enemies,

01:10as you follow this blueprint,

01:12when can I, a former impeachment manager,

01:15expect the FBI at my door?

01:17Ma'am, you want to know who was targeted by a weaponized FBI?

01:21Me.

01:22You want to know how and why?

01:24You want to know what I'm doing to fix it?

01:25Well, you may need to write a book about that.

01:26Let me move along.

01:27Well, you should read the book,

01:28because there's no enemies list on that book.

01:29There are people that violated their constitutional obligations

01:32and their duties to the American people,

01:34and they were rightly called out.

01:36And you should give that book to every one of your constituents

01:39so they can read about it.

01:40I won't be doing that.

01:41That's their loss.

01:42During your Senate confirmation hearings,

01:45you repeatedly denied having any involvement as a private citizen

01:49in the firing of FBI officials who engaged in the prosecution

01:52against January 6th insurrectionists,

01:54the violent rioters who beat and killed Capitol police officers

01:59and whom you referred to as political prisoners.

02:02Since then, multiple whistleblowers have come forward,

02:05and we know that you likely committed perjury.

02:08At the same hearing, you claimed you were not familiar

02:11with Stu Peters, an anti-Semitic Holocaust denier,

02:16despite the fact that you appeared on Mr. Peters' podcast

02:19eight separate times.

02:21Eight times.

02:22And you claimed not to recall.

02:24Mr. Patel, my second question is,

02:26should we worry more about your memory or your veracity?

02:29We should worry more about your lack of candor.

02:31You're accusing me of committing perjury.

02:33Tell the American people how I broke the law and committed a felony.

02:37Have the audacity to actually put the facts forward

02:40instead of lying for political banter,

02:43so you can have a 20-second donation hit.
