Hakeem Jeffries Claims Republicans Have ‘Determined To Go It Alone’ On Debt Ceiling, Fail To Consult Dems

00:06If they can get closer to why there's obviously a debt ceiling deadline,

00:10have you put any thought into what the Democrats would want from Republicans

00:15in order to avert the debt ceiling crisis if they can't use this as the vehicle to do that?

00:22We have not, because Republicans have to date determined that they want to go it alone.

00:27Go it alone as it relates to trying to meet the needs of the American people,

00:36which has resulted in this one big ugly bill that they now want to jam down the throats of the American people

00:42in the dead of night, and that they apparently have concluded they want to go it alone

00:47in terms of making sure that the debt ceiling is lifted.

00:51Good luck, because they haven't had a single conversation with Democrats

00:57to try to protect the full faith and credit of the United States of America.
