00:00PJ, prior to Jaden, probably the biggest stars in Washington, I would say,
00:07were like, I mean, Ovi's his own person, right?
00:10But hockey's not the biggest sport.
00:12But like, Wall, Gil, RG3, and Bryce Harper for a while.
00:23And dude, Bryce, I think, was with Under Armour.
00:26All of Gil, Robert, and Wall were all like Adidas guys.
00:31This is perhaps stupid, but it matters to me.
00:36Nike, I'm not taking shots at any other apparel manufacturer, right?
00:41Like, there's a lot of good gear out there.
00:43But Nike's always the best.
00:45And the best dudes are always with Nike.
00:47Like, being a Nike guy is a big deal.
00:50And people need to understand that there are pretty much all pro athletes
00:54have some level of endorsement deal where they get free gear or whatever.
00:59But like, being one of their guys on billboards and stuff, that is different.
01:03And I don't know if you saw it.
01:04I shared it on my Instagram story.
01:06But Jaden is now a Nike guy.
01:09Like, a Nike football guy.
01:11And it's just a part of me that feels like that is another example of the difference
01:16with this dude and all of his predecessors.
01:19Well, but I think, like, when you look at Ovi, that you're not...
01:24Hockey's different.
01:25Hockey's not really.
01:26Nike's not there.
01:27But the other guys, you got to realize, when the other team is offering you,
01:31the other group is offering you far more money, that's what you're going with.
01:33Sure.
01:34And a buddy of mine that has been in that space, that signed players,
01:38has explained that, like, Adidas has to pay 40% more than Nike or Under Armour
01:44or Reebok or whoever.
01:46But something tells me Nike had to pay the going rate for Jaden
01:50because he had those options.
01:52Nadeau, have you seen the videos?
01:54Just kind of what do you think?
01:56I think it kind of goes hand-in-hand with the commanders being on national television
02:02for, like, 10 out of 17 games.
02:04This is our new reality.
02:06It's crazy.
02:07And I'm not worried about Jaden because we know how mature he is
02:12and he can handle the spotlight and all that.
02:13But it's a lot, really quickly, for a second-year quarterback.
02:18He took us to the NFC Championship game in year one.
02:21And now it's going to be so annoying when, you know, we lose two games in a row
02:28and we have to listen to ESPN for a week straight talk about,
02:32is Jaden a one-year wonder and all these narratives that they're going to come up with?
02:35Oh, he signed a Nike deal, but he threw an interception.
02:38I wish we lived in a world where Jaden could just be Jaden and play football
02:42and we didn't have to worry about all these expectations people are going to put on him.
02:48But I do think he's special.
02:49I do think he's different.
02:50I don't think he's going to crack under the pressure.
02:53I just hate that it's going to be really hard for him in year two
02:57to live up to year one expectations.
02:59And I think this is a guy that will bring us one or multiple Super Bowls
03:02in the next 10 years.
03:04So I need everybody to remember this conversation right now.
03:08If, you know, we start off five and four or whatever,
03:11it's a long, long road.
03:13And this commander's team overall, still, we don't have a great roster.
03:18And we have to remember that they're still rebuilding.
03:20We're still plagued by Ron Rivera, not knowing how to draft.
03:23It's going to take time, but everything is trending in the right direction.
