00:00Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday launched RIBAT, the first high-mobility light tactical vehicle, HML-TV, fully designed and built by local defence company Mildef International Technologies' Sendirian Berhad.
00:17The unveiling took place at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025, Lima 2025, held at the Masuri International Exhibition Centre.
00:29Named by the Prime Minister himself, RIBAT embodies the spirit of safeguarding the nation through a combination of faith, patriotism and technological strength.
00:39The name also refers to the traditional concept of guarding borders and ensuring public safety, symbolising readiness, bravery and sacrifice for the nation.
00:50According to Mildef, the RIBAT was developed entirely by local engineers at the company's facilities in Seremban and Sepang.
00:59The multi-role tactical vehicle is designed for patrol missions, convoy protection and special operations, and features a modular ballistic protection system adaptable to mission needs.
01:11The launch of RIBAT marks a significant milestone in Malaysia's push for defence self-reliance and regional defence industry cooperation.
01:20In conjunction with the launch, Anwar also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, between Mildef and PT Pindad, a leading Indonesian defence manufacturer.
01:32The collaboration aims to boost exports, technology transfer and system integration between the two nations.
01:39He also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement, MOA, between Mildef and the Defence Science and Technology Research Institute, Stride, a key research agency under the Defence Ministry.
