A 28-year-old security guard has been detained for allegedly extorting RM50from a woman over a parking dispute.

Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said a video of the incident went viral on Monday (May 19) and the 31-year-old female victim lodged a police report the same day.

00:00A 28-year-old security guard has been detained for allegedly extorting 50 ringgit from a woman
00:07over a parking dispute. Kajang District Police Chief ACP Nazron Abdul Yusof said the video of
00:13the incident went viral on Monday and the 31-year-old female victim lodged a police report
00:19the same day. However, investigations revealed that the alleged extortion actually took place
00:26around 4pm on December 23 last year at a hospital in Kajang. The suspect is also seen issuing
00:34threats during the incident. ACP Nazron said the investigation led to the arrest of the security
00:39guard on Monday. She has been remanded until Wednesday to assist with the investigation
00:45under Section 384 of the Penal Code.
00:56In another video that went viral, an individual claimed to have been a victim of extortion
01:01over a parking dispute, where a guard was heard asking for 10 ringgit for parking in a non-designated
01:07spot. However, he clarified that the security guard involved was a different person, though
01:14allegedly from the same hospital.
