With the Rich List in the spotlight, we ask locals whether they think wealth leads to happiness. Should the super-rich be doing more to give back to society, and what role does money really play in feeling fulfilled?
00:00Obviously you can't tell people what to do with their money, but I think it's a free country and you can say, listen, morality-wise, I'm not happy that you've got these people that clearly don't have good morals.
00:08Giving back could mean anything. I mean, obviously just donate this to charity, but setting up any sort of foundation.
00:16But I think, yeah, from a free country and morality point of view, if you say, yeah, sure, you're free to do whatever you want with your money, but then I'm free to think you're an idiot and immoral.
00:24Um, I mean, I believe in volunteering quite a lot, especially people who are in fortunate positions.
00:30I mean, I volunteer quite a lot as well. I like to use my spare time for people who aren't as fortunate as me.
00:35So, yeah, I believe there should be some more effort in sort of giving back to the community.
00:40What do you think?
00:40Well, I think money sure does help. Like, it is very important in day-to-day life, but, um, I don't think you need money to be happy.
00:52What about the super rich?
00:54They should, yeah, they should be, um, helping out a lot more.
