00:20A spokesperson for the force said,
00:22Our officers quickly attended and found that a teenage boy was being given CPR by members of the public on the riverbank.
00:30He was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he very sadly died the following day.
00:38Our thoughts were with his family and loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.
00:43A Wire Council spokesperson added,
00:47We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss and our heartfelt condolences go out to the young man's family, friends and all those affected.
00:54While the Wire Council is committed to promoting water safety and raising awareness,
01:00the responsibility for issuing specific warnings and monitoring river conditions lies with the Environment Agency,
01:07who work to help keep communities safe around the waterways.
01:10The spokesperson for the Environment Agency said,
01:14We are very sorry to hear about this tragic incident, but because it has not involved an asset we are responsible for,
01:20slash is not flooding related, it would not be one we could comment on.
01:25In this one, we are unrighteous.
01:40In this one, we have no ideas of the light.
