First Minister John Swinney speaks about antisocial behaviour after death of teenager in Irvine
Transcript
00:00The incident in Irvine is absolutely heartbreaking and I extend my deepest
00:06sympathies to Caden's family at his untimely death. It's obviously a live
00:11police investigation so there's a limit to what I can say about it but it's
00:15absolutely essential that we create a culture in Scotland where there is no
00:23antisocial behavior, that people act responsibly and that they act safely and
00:27of course we rely on Police Scotland and the British Transport Police to make
00:32sure that individuals are safe and able to travel safely within Scotland.
00:39In the light of that do you think it was wise to lift a 24-7 drinking man on
00:43Scotland? It's important that we recognize that some of the elements around the
00:49alcohol ban on our rail network was very difficult to enforce and created some
00:57difficult situations on the rail network but what's vital is that in all
01:01circumstances people act responsibly that we have a visible presence on our trains
01:08and at stations to make sure people are safe and that that should be maintained at all times.
