00:53He'd just asked Mike the monkey to choose a card
00:56when out of the window he saw a rabbit
00:59It was in the middle of the road
01:04and any minute now
01:06Bernard froze
01:10Then he remembered his magic watch
01:14Just in time
01:21Bernard couldn't think what a white rabbit was doing in the middle of the road
01:48But the first thing was to get it somewhere safe
01:51Bernard was surprised to see that the man driving the car
02:04was his head teacher
02:05Mr Tree
02:06What's more, he was doing 35 miles an hour
02:15and it was a 30 mile limit
02:17He decided to leave Mr Tree a message
02:25It said
02:34You are going too fast

02:57I did see a beautiful
02:58Gag
02:58I knew it
02:59Hecho
03:00That was a great
03:00It was a lovely rabbit, and Bernard really wanted to keep it.
03:16The trouble was, his mother was allergic to fur, and animals weren't allowed in the house.
03:22He would have to hide it.
03:30Bernard thought he'd see if his friend Karen could help.
03:45Can I go round to Karen's?
03:46Yes, don't be too long.
03:47OK, Mum.
03:52Karen used to keep a rabbit, and she still had the hutch.
03:55Maybe she'd let him use it.
04:00Is Karen there, please?
04:08She's up in her room at the moment. Could you leave it till later?
04:11Oh.
04:11Maybe tomorrow.
04:12Right.
04:14One of the advantages of having a magic watch was that you didn't always have to do what people told you.
04:30Karen looked very upset, and Bernard thought it might be best not to bother her after all.
04:46Sorry to bother you, Mrs Hewitt. I hope she gets better soon.
04:50I'll tell her you called.
04:51There was nothing for it. He'd have to look after the rabbit himself.
04:59So the next thing was to visit the pet shop.
05:06Excuse me. I've got a rabbit.
05:08Oh, so you've got a rabbit. How lovely. Have you kept one before?
05:14Not really.
05:14Ah, well, in that case, what you'll need is this. You see, it's called rabbit. It'll tell you everything you want to know about rabbits.
05:23Now then, have you got a hutch?
05:25I think so.
05:26Ah, well, you'll need some food, won't you? Yes. Here we are. And you should give it a few greens as well, you know.
05:34OK.
05:35You can scatter those around the hutch, but the food and water should be kept in their own bowls.
05:42Here we are. Now, if you want the rabbit's name, put on the bowls. That's two quid extra a time.
05:50Yes? Jolly good.
05:53Now, um, ah.
05:54These are your shavings. Now, you should change those at least once a week. And for that, you have your own little scooper.
06:07Now then, um, here's the bedding. Now, put that in his sleeping area, won't you? Because he likes to keep nice and warm, you see.
06:17Now then, what else do we need? Ah, I know. One brush, one comb, one grooming mat. Um, oh, yes, and, uh, set of nail clippers, very important.
06:33A packet of vitamin sticks. And I tell you what, you've been such a good customer, I'll throw in a packet of fluffy bunny chocolate drops for nothing. How's that?
06:44Now then, young man, you owe me, um, £23.60p. Let's call it £23, shall we?
06:53I don't think I've got that much.
06:56Uh, well, you, you don't have to buy it all today, you know.
07:01How much have you got?
07:14But when Bernard came back from the shop, all the boxes had gone.
07:35What's happened to everything?
07:37You mean the jumble boxes? Mr Tree took them.
07:40All of them?
07:41They're for the summer fair. Are you all right?
07:44Bernard wasn't all right at all.
07:51Where's he taking them?
07:53To the school. Are you sure you're all right?
07:56Thanks, Mum.
08:01Bernard headed for school.
08:03But there was no sign of Mr Tree's car.
08:19The one thing he didn't have to worry about was looking out for traffic.
08:24Then he saw what he was looking for on the other side of the park.
08:28Bernard tried to open the back of the car.
08:48But it was locked.
08:50The box with the rabbit in it was there with all the others.
09:1040 miles an hour.
09:2740 miles an hour.
09:46Bernard wrote another note.
09:55You are still going too fast, slow down.
09:59He really should be more careful, thought Bernard.
10:06Oh no, not again.
10:21You are still going too fast.
10:28You are still going too fast.
10:35All he needed now was a couple of bowls and some water.
10:42All he needed now was a couple of bowls and some water.
10:49All he needed now was a couple of bowls and some water.
10:56All he needed now was a couple of bowls and some water.
11:03Where's Bernard, Mrs. Peasy?
11:05Bernard!
11:06Yes, Mum?
11:07I think he's in the kitchen if you want to go through.
11:14Mum said you came round.
11:16What's wrong?
11:17It's my rabbit.
11:18What?
11:19I got a new one yesterday called Snowy and he's gone.
11:24But it was all right.
11:25Bernard knew just the thing to cheer her up.
11:31And now, for the final part of my show, a trick so amazing it'll leave you gasping in amazement.
11:38Anything inside?
11:39No hidden trapdoors or pockets?
11:40No.
11:41And now, for the magic words.
11:43And now, for the magic words.
11:44And now, for the magic words.
12:13I want to start with your thumb.
12:14Don't know all of us, what's going to do.
12:15And now, for the magic words.
12:16I'm going to start with my finger.
12:17You're going to start with your thumb and the new little bit.
12:18What's left with your tongue?
12:19We're going to start with my tongue.
12:23I'm going to start with your own mouth.
12:24Because I'm going to start with it.
12:25I don't want to start with my tongue.
12:39Come on.
12:40What are you going to do with your tongue?
12:41Cheers up!
12:50Bernard!
12:53It's Snowy!
12:57Snowy!
12:59That's very clever, Bonas.
13:02Well, he was in the middle of the room.
13:04On the way home, Bernard told Karen all about finding her rabbit.
13:08Well, not quite all.
13:11Bernard decided to leave another note.
13:13I'm sorry.
13:36Bernard decided to leave another note.
13:41It said, that's much better. Have a nice day, Mr. Tree.
13:53That's a really nice watching. I like it. Is it very old?
14:09Bernard said he thought it probably was, but that it still gave him very good time.
14:14But that it still gave him very good time.
14:16It's very nice.
14:18Thank you, Jack.
14:20It was very nice and wonderful.
14:22I had a good time.
