00:00CCTV footage shows the moment a 54-year-old man came within feet of his killer in Tunbridge
00:05Wells town centre less than an hour before his death.
00:09Jurors at Maidstone Crown Court have watched footage of Wayne Woodgate's final moments
00:13before he was killed by Stephen Castle.
00:16The court heard Mr Woodgate was dropped off in Tunbridge Wells by his son to attend an
00:20alcohol and drug support group.
00:22Two hours later, as the grandfather was on his way to leave, 59-year-old Stephen Castle
00:27had also entered the town centre to visit a phone repair shop.
00:31The pair can be seen crossing paths at 3.24pm.
00:36Seconds later, Mr Castle returns to the scene looking for the man he'd later kill.
00:40He told the jury he'd been told he walked past Mr Woodgate by his work colleague Derek
00:45Chantler, who was waiting in a nearby van, which Mr Castle returns to.
00:50The next sighting of Mr Woodgate is five minutes later, when the work colleagues were waiting
00:54in the van at traffic lights and Mr Woodgate was walking nearby.
00:57The court heard Mr Castle left the van to follow on foot.
01:02A witness then reported having seen the pair come face to face in a nearby residential street,
01:07before calling 999, describing a man effing and blinding at another, calling him a junkie
01:12and blaming him for getting nine years.
01:16Later footage shows the van heading out of town with all three men squished inside.
01:20This is the final camera sighting of Mr Woodgate alive before his body was found in East Sussex.
01:26The prosecution told Maidstone Crown Court that Mr Woodgate had been strangled to death
01:30in an act of anger, that Mr Castle had blamed him for a police raid on his home that resulted
01:35in him being sent to prison years earlier.
01:38Mr Castle has admitted to manslaughter but denies a charge of murder.
