Learn how to use Conditional formatting for entire row based on data in one cell. How do I highlight rows in Excel based on yes or no.
Or how do I highlight an entire row based on a cell value? Or how do you make yes green and no red in Excel? And can you apply conditional formatting to an entire row?

Conditional formatting is a powerful feature in spreadsheet software that allows users to apply formatting rules to cells based on specified criteria. One common use case is to apply conditional formatting to an entire row based on the value in one cell. For example, you could highlight all rows where the value in the "Status" column is "Complete" by applying a conditional formatting rule to the entire row. This makes it easy to quickly identify and analyze data that meets certain criteria without having to manually scan through each cell. Overall, conditional formatting is a useful tool for streamlining data analysis and visualization in spreadsheets.

Here are the steps outlined in this video.
1) Select dataset
2) Home ~ Style ~ Conditional Formatting
3) New Rule...
4) Use a formula to determine which cells to format
5) =$C2="Y" (press F4 to change cell reference type)
6) Format
7) Fill tab
8) Select colour you like.
9) OK
10) OK

00:00In my camping checklist, if I put a Y here, it will highlight the whole row
00:04indicating that I've already packed this item. This kind of technique can also be
00:08used for things like shopping lists or to-do lists. So let's get started. The
00:11first thing you have to do is to highlight the data set by clicking the
00:15area that you want, only this, without the title header. Next thing you're gonna do,
00:19you're gonna be home, style, conditional formatting, and click on new rules. In
00:24here, you'll be selecting use a formula and the formula you'll be using will be
00:29this. Click on the formula here and click on cell C2. You'll come up with equal
00:34$C$2. You're gonna press F4 twice like this so that it looks like $C2 like
00:40this and you're gonna say equal double quote capital Y double quote. Once
00:44that's done, click on format button here and make sure you are on the field tabs
00:49here and select the color that you want. See I'm gonna select a color called this
00:53kind of color here and click on OK and OK one more time. Now every time when I
00:58press Y here like this, you can see that the whole row is highlighted. This is a
01:03good way to keep track of all the items that I want to bring for my camping trips
01:06or maybe for my shopping as well.
