00:00It's so enjoyable. It really is. And the fans, I mean, I've never known anything like it.
00:07And now, 25 years later, they're still so supportive of every act that takes part. It's fabulous.
00:17Some music lovers may be feeling excited as the finale of the world's biggest song contest is set to reach our screens this weekend.
00:24But do the people of Kent watch Eurovision?
00:27I've been seeing every year. And I hope England does better this year.
00:31I do. I haven't watched the past couple of years, but I have all through the years watched it, yes.
00:39I can't come on the Eurovision final. I don't know about that.
00:42I like the craziness of it and the different personalities of the different countries.
00:49I love the commentary, the Graham Norton commentary and the old Terry Rogan commentary.
00:53And it's good fun. You can have people around and that's good love.
00:58The county is home to Cheryl Baker and Mike Nolan, who were original members of the band Bucks Fizz,
01:05which won the competition in 1981 with the song Making Your Mind Up.
01:09However, they weren't the only Kent singers to hit the stage.
01:18Nicky French represented the UK in 2000 and has since seen the contest change over the years.
01:24Back then there were no semi-finals. So, you know, we just we rehearsed for one week and then straight into the final on the Saturday.
01:33We did dress rehearsals and so on.
01:36But the big final was the Saturday with no sort of semi-final qualifiers or anything.
01:46I think there were 26 countries the year I did it. But it was just the whole week was just magical. I can't describe it any other way.
01:58Facing the finals this Sunday is country girl group Remember Monday, who are singing for the UK.
02:03Lauren Bryn, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele left their jobs last year to pursue their dreams and have joined KMFM to tell us more about their experience.
02:18I've heard that you guys got chosen before you even had the song. Is that true?
02:24Is that true?
02:25Yeah, it's true.
02:26What preparation is going to happen between now and Showtime?
02:29It's a scarily short amount of time that we have left.
02:32I don't love it.
02:33No, but I think it will be majority of the time we'll be in rehearsals now for Basel.
02:39As millions watch on, we will see which country has the winning vocals.
