00:00first win of the year you've been patient what's the feeling now yeah it's a big relief uh the team
00:10always believes in me and uh yeah it's not been a great start to the season but then with the
00:15injury i missed a lot of racing and uh yeah i was arriving here without a win so the first one for
00:20the year is a big relief what have you tried to do with general pro right ahead before the finish
00:26yeah well with these wet roads and they're quite slippery so knowing the cobbles starting around
00:32the 2k mark was super important to be in front but in the end we also needed to use some guys early
00:38to chase close the breakaway they did a super ride uh so yeah in the end uh still had two teammates
00:45plauer and plank out who did a super job and uh yeah luckily i could slip slip back a few places
00:51uh launch the sprint early but uh off the wheels were you confident yeah i mean always uh once it
00:57started raining i felt quite a bit better actually i'm quite good in the in the colder wetter conditions
01:02so yeah for sure i had confidence and my team also i believe in them and they always do a super job
01:10your second win at the giro another one near the seaside the legend goes on yeah i mean it's super
01:15nice to win here in napoli it's an iconic city for sure and uh yeah i think as a sprinter who in the
01:21giro many stages arrive here and it's uh always a dream to win it well done thank you perfect thanks
01:27thanks congrats on the win i guess a day of very mixed feelings now with your teammate injured but also a
01:33win yeah uh we're still i'm not sure uh what the verdict is with yuri um it was a nasty crash for a lot
01:43of riders and then the neutralization came so like you say a lot of mixed feelings um whether we were
01:50not knowing whether we were going to race or not and then having to decide on the spot uh yeah certainly
01:57mental mentally like tough mentally because you know we switch off and we get cold and we have to
02:02start again so yeah my thoughts with yuri um but he's played a vital part of part of in this team as
02:09well in the last days and uh yeah i uh yeah it's for him i mean because he also makes so many sacrifices
02:18and arrived here in good shape and yeah it was super unlucky to to be injured today
02:29can you actually tell us a bit about the final kilometers there and how it went for you
02:33and also a little bit about the crash itself did you see it did you hear it were you caught up in it at all
02:37uh yeah firstly about the crash um it was a fast moment in the in the race just because we were
02:46approaching the breakaway and and descending on the wet roads uh and yeah it happened in front of me
02:51but i was lucky enough to to slow and avoid it um but i think it's just you know the slippery roads
02:57and a touch of wheels um someone breaks and maybe slips and it causes a chain reaction so these crashes
03:05happen and there's uh really not a lot you can do about it so i hope uh those involved are not not too
03:12bad and uh yeah personally the final kilometers were made more technical because of the rain of course
03:20the wet stones also meaning the position was super important um to arrive yeah safely more than anything so
03:29so taking the final corners in the front uh is not ideal actually for the legs but it means you can get a
03:37you know clear view of the of the conditions and and uh get into the into the final itself because too far
03:44back you uh yeah risk crashing uh and also sprinting at every corner
03:51rest room yeah just one more came from me do you think they made the right decision to stop the
04:02race there neutralize it like that was that the best thing to do in the circumstances
04:07of course i always think uh you know crashes happen so i don't have a problem with uh waiting you know for
04:14teammates and uh the rest of the peloton to yeah to get cleaned up to get you know get everyone gathered
04:20together together together and uh we can resume racing i obviously don't like uh stopping because
04:25you know you get cold and uh doubt settles in um but i have no problem with the neutralization
04:33because you know without uh without the peloton we have no race and although we're rivals um there still
04:39needs to be you know respect between each other because one day you're not affected by the crash but
04:46then um you know the next your whole team can be involved so i think uh it's not an easy decision by the
04:53the organization uh but i have no problem with the neutralization of the gc because
04:59ultimately it makes it uh also a bit safer i think for the those who want to take the risk and
05:04the sprint teams uh we're free to do so any more questions no grazie davvero finita adesso thank you
05:13kaden and congratulations
