00:00My team and I gave it our all in this campaign, and I am deeply humbled and grateful for the results.
00:13Singaporeans have given the PAP a clear and strong mandate to govern.
00:18We won 65% of the popular vote compared to 61% before,
00:24and we won 82 seats out of the 92 seats which were contested.
00:29Plus the 5 seats in Marimbradal Heights, the PAP has 87 seats.
00:37I thank all voters from all ages, races and backgrounds who supported my team and I.
00:44Thank you for the faith that you have put in me and my team.
00:49To all Singaporeans I say, the results will motivate us to work even harder for you.
00:56We will do our best to serve you and improve your lives.
01:01To all newly elected PAP MPs, I would remind everyone that the mandate we have received is a heavy responsibility.
01:11To take good care of our constituencies, to engage our residents, build deep relationships with them, and bring forward their voices in Parliament.
01:22And also to advocate and champion causes that matter to Singaporeans, so that we can have robust debates in Parliament and secure a brighter future for all.
01:33I respect the opposition presence in Parliament.
01:36I have always taken their suggestions and views seriously, and I will continue to do so.
01:42So I look forward to the contributions of opposition members in Parliament.
01:48Because Parliament is where key national issues are discussed, and I am sure we will have constructive and robust debates there.
01:57On some issues we may have to agree to disagree, but at the same time we must, where critical national issues are concerned,
02:07uphold a shared responsibility to come together and advance Singapore's interests together in this changed and turbulent world.
02:18We have to fight together to achieve better outcomes for Singapore and Singaporeans.
02:25And now that the election is over, we must put aside our differences and stand together as one team Singapore,
02:35to confront the storms ahead and to secure a brighter future for ourselves, our families and Singapore.
