00:00India and Turkey, two nations miles apart, yet connected through billions of dollars in trade,

00:10bus-lim, tourism and your favorite bathroom tiles. Boycott Turkey is trending in India

00:15because Turkey backed Pakistan amidst fresh military tensions with India.

00:19And many Indians are calling it a betrayal. After all, India sent massive aid during Turkey's

00:24devastating 2023 earthquake. In 2023-24, trade between India and Turkey was worth $10.4 billion.

00:32That's not pocket change. India exported $6.66 billion worth of goods. This included engineering

00:38goods, petroleum products, electronics, chemicals, yarn and pharmaceuticals. From April to October

00:452024 alone, India sent over $3.4 billion worth of exports Turkey's way. And Turkey sent plenty back.

00:52India imported $3.78 billion worth of goods in FY24. Mineral fuels and oils, between April and

00:59October 2024 alone, imports were $1.9 billion worth. Indian companies have invested $126 million in

01:06Turkey. Turkish firms, over $210 million in India. That's major skin in the game for both sides.

01:13And then there's tourism, a big one. In 2024, over 3.3 lakh Indians visited Turkey. That's up 20.7%

01:20from the year before. Each Indian tourist spent an average of $82,922, roughly $972. Turkey earned

01:28$61.1 billion in tourism revenue in 2024. So losing Indian tourists could hurt. But now travel

01:36companies are discouraging travelers from traveling to the country. So what's at stake? Billions in trade,
