Dutch students launch hydrogen boat to 'inspire shipping industry'  Dutch scientists unveil a boat powered by liquid hydrogen that they hope will offer lessons to the shipping industry as it eyes new fuel sources to reduce its significant greenhouse gas emissions. Olivier Poelman, a member of the team of students from the Delft University of Technology, says "if a team of 25 students can do it, then the bigger companies can implement these sustainable changes as well in the maritime sector." 00:22maritime sector and so we want to use green hydrogen as much as possible and

00:27definitely because well it's what we want to show to the world that it's that

00:32that's what we want to strive for however most of the infrastructure is

00:36still grey hydrogen however we try to source as much as possible from the

00:40green hydrogen through partners of ours or other companies that are involved if

00:44there's more demand then more companies will try to innovate and then you get

00:49way cheaper alternatives so for now it might seem a bit expensive and very

00:54difficult but once companies really start to pick it up I really believe that

00:59the innovations gathered from that can make it a bit easier also green we just

01:03really want to show that there are green options out there that are already

01:06possible and we want to show that the bigger ships can also do this yeah that's

01:11the goal for our year but the bigger goal is to inspire the maritime industry
