A private bus traveling from Bihar to Delhi caught fire on Lucknow's Kisan Path early Thursday, May 15, tragically killing five people, including two children. There were 60-70 passengers on the bus when the fire broke out. While many managed to escape in time, two women, two children and a man were trapped and died in the fire. Several other passengers sustained injuries. Horrifying visuals from the spot showed the bus completely gutted by flames. Initial investigations revealed a failed emergency exit and a suspected short circuit in the gearbox as the potential cause of the devastating incident.
