Victims turn up heat over abuse liability 'loophole'

00:13What I'm pushing them to do though is it's not the first time that Victoria has gone

00:17first when it comes to legislation and this is not an easy conversation to have, but Victoria

00:22has led the way when it comes to reform in this space and it's time that they did it

00:26again.

00:28I think it's an important ambition to achieve national consistency, however that should

00:33not stand in the way of ensuring survivors have access to justice, whatever form that

00:38takes in the interim.

00:40What we didn't hear today in the debate was the vast number of survivors who are impacted

00:50by the Burden DP decision where they have been abused by volunteers in organisations and particularly
