00:00The 2025-26 Eagles schedule is finally here and the fans are not happy with it.
00:07Did Roger Goodell and the NFL purposely make the Byrds' schedule difficult in order to prevent them from being successful this season?
00:15Well, I'll tell you right now, it doesn't even matter because the Byrds are ready to run it back and make another deep run into the playoffs.
00:22And today we'll give our overall take and a little prediction on this schedule.
00:25But welcome into A to Z Philly, I'm R.B.
00:28And we started off with Santa Claus Goodell.
00:31That's right, this guy is at an event and he was announcing the Christmas games for the NFL.
00:37Thankfully, the Eagles don't play on Christmas this year.
00:39But he was announcing the games on Christmas and he's dressed up as Santa Claus.
00:44Well, when you are Santa Claus, you're supposed to give gifts.
00:48And I'll tell you what, he did not give the Eagles any gifts this year.
00:51We will talk about it.
00:52But here is your first look at the Eagles schedule.
00:55Now, if you are watching this, it is probably past 8 p.m.
00:59Eastern.
01:00I am recording this before and the leaks are out and have been confirmed.
01:04So this will be the Eagles 2025 schedule.
01:08And here's your first look at it.
01:10I mean, this is a pretty crazy schedule.
01:12I'm not going to lie.
01:13And we'll take an even closer look at it.
01:16So here is a list of the Eagles schedule as we know it so far with the listed times.
01:21And I'll be honest with you, man.
01:23I mean, what is this?
01:24Like, did the NFL look at the Eagles last year and say, hey, we don't want them to be successful again?
01:30Maybe.
01:30But like I said, it doesn't matter because the birds are going to push through.
01:33They have even more chemistry than they did last year.
01:36And they're just coming together in a great way.
01:39And Howie Roseman has had a great offseason, great draft, etc.
01:43But I'll tell you a couple things I don't like about this schedule at first glance.
01:47A couple things I do like about it.
01:49And then we'll talk more specifically about some of these opponents and give a final prediction.
01:54But anyway, the first thing I don't like is how many primetime games they do have.
01:59Now, again, I know that comes with the territory.
02:02The Eagles are a successful franchise.
02:03They are Super Bowl champions, and the NFL wants to feature them more, right?
02:08And they're predicted to be very good again.
02:09So I do understand it.
02:11But from counting right here, Thursday night football, Thursday night football, Monday night, Sunday night, Black Friday, Monday night, Sunday night.
02:20That's seven primetime games right off the bat.
02:22And I would expect that there's probably some more added in here as well.
02:26The other thing I don't like is what we referenced yesterday with some of these weird times of games, right?
02:31The Black Friday game the day after Thanksgiving.
02:33That's at 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
02:36Like, who's watching football while people are out Black Friday shopping at 3 p.m.?
02:41And then in week 16, I believe it is, they play at Washington on a Saturday.
02:47So, yeah, man.
02:48I mean, there's just some weird times for these games.
02:50And I think it'll be interesting to, you know, see how the Eagles can handle that, right?
02:55Because like I said yesterday, they go through this mental rhythm week by week, and you kind of live off the football week.
03:01Now, the couple of things I do like about this schedule are, one, they play the New York Giants two times in three weeks.
03:08And the Giants, I don't believe, are going to be a good football team.
03:12I kind of view them as practice dummies.
03:14And they'll be better.
03:15They'll be improved from last year.
03:16But I think those two Giants games, let's just say the Eagles started off a bit rough, will be a good way for them to pick steam back up heading into the bye week.
03:25And that's the other thing I do like about this schedule at first glance is that their bye week is in week nine.
03:31Now, again, last year it was in week five, and we thought it was terrible.
03:35Ended up being a blessing in disguise.
03:36But I like week nine, feels right smack in the middle, gives them a chance to kind of recoup and get ready for that final push of the season.
03:44So I do like that week nine bye, and I think that'll help them out.
03:48But overall, how do we feel about this schedule, right?
03:52They open up the season on a Thursday night to start off football this year against Dallas.
03:58And a couple people commented on the last video saying, RB, you need to relax.
04:01This is a great thing because the Cowboys come to the link and get to watch the Eagles hang their Super Bowl banner.
04:08And I guess I didn't really put that into perspective.
04:11I think that's a great point.
04:12And I will have a lot of fun doing it, obviously, because the Eagles are champions.
04:16But also, the Cowboys are going to have to witness something that they probably won't witness ever again.
04:21So I love it.
04:22And right after Dallas, the Eagles go to Kansas City.
04:26And that strikes me as strange, right?
04:29Like, why are the Eagles going to Kansas City in week two?
04:33And why is it not a primetime game?
04:35This is the reigning Super Bowl matchup.
04:37Why would the Eagles not be playing Kansas City at 815 or on a Monday night?
04:41That's really weird.
04:42But anyway, Dallas, Kansas City, and then the Rams and the Bucs to open the season.
04:48I feel like that Bucs game is always a tough one.
04:51It feels like the Eagles always play the Bucs in week four.
04:54And they always struggle.
04:55It's either like crazy hot or the humidity is out of this world.
04:59Or Baker Mayfield just on a crazy tear.
05:02So out of the first four, I think the Eagles could lose one or two, right?
05:06And moving on after that, they play Denver, and then they play the Giants at New York on
05:12a Thursday night.
05:13Then they play at Minnesota and come home to play the Giants before the bye week.
05:18I think that's a really good stretch for the Eagles.
05:20Honestly, I think they could go 4-0.
05:22I know Bo Nix had a great year last year, and the Broncos were a playoff team.
05:26But the Eagles are better.
05:28Simple as that.
05:29The Giants, in my opinion, are really not that big of a worry.
05:32And Minnesota is still trying to figure it out now with their quarterback situation.
05:37We'll see what J.J. McCarthy is.
05:38But it's no longer Sam Darnold.
05:40And I still think that's a bit of a question mark coming off an injury for Minnesota.
05:45Also, I do want to just say real quick, I do not really like giving final predictions
05:49because, as we know, some weeks guys are injured.
05:53Some weeks games are just tough.
05:54Teams are on a roll.
05:56So it's hard to really pinpoint specific games.
05:58So I'm just giving my general thoughts.
06:00But I'll tell you how many wins at the end I think the Eagles will result in this season.
06:04But anyway, after the bye, a little bit of a tough schedule.
06:07You go to Lambeau to play the Packers on a Monday night.
06:11Then you play Detroit on Sunday night football.
06:14So that right there is a quick turnaround.
06:16That could be tough.
06:17Then you go to Dallas to play the Cowboys.
06:19Then you have that Black Friday weird timing game against the Bears.
06:23Then you go to L.A. on the West Coast to play the Chargers.
06:27Then you come back home to play the Vegas Raiders.
06:30And then you finish off the season with Washington, Buffalo on Sunday night, and Washington.
06:36So again, a lot of different timed games here.
06:40I don't know how I feel about two Washington games in the final three.
06:43I feel like given that it was an NFC championship matchup, Washington probably should have started
06:49the season against Philly.
06:50But there should be one of those games earlier in the season.
06:53I don't really like playing Washington two times in three weeks, especially in the final
06:57couple games when it might not matter anymore for one of those teams, probably Washington.
07:03But anyway, you have Buffalo in between that.
07:05And another thing I noticed actually just right now when looking at this schedule is the Eagles
07:10don't have back-to-back home games.
07:12Is that serious?
07:14Are we for real?
07:14This better not be the schedule at this point.
07:17I mean, what?
07:18No back-to-back home games?
07:20That's crazy.
07:21Last year, the Eagles had what?
07:23Like six or seven in a row?
07:24Like, is the NFL purposely trying to screw the Eagles over here?
07:28Are they trying to piss us off?
07:30Like, just tell us you don't want the Birds to be successful.
07:33Like I said, it doesn't matter because the whole offensive core is back.
07:37The defense is stout.
07:38Vic Fangio is a mastermind.
07:40And Howie Roseman added a whole lot more ammunition in the draft than in free agency.
07:45So the Eagles are going to be good regardless.
07:47But I do think, you know, that Detroit game on a Sunday night's a little bit iffy.
07:51Even the Black Friday game, it just feels like one of those weird ones.
07:55Eagles better wear their all black jerseys, though.
07:57I will say that.
07:57And then to end the season, it's just hard to beat a team two times in three weeks.
08:02So definitely a tough schedule.
08:04You know, we'll see how it plays out.
08:06Hopefully, by the time they get there at the end of the season, they'll be resting starters
08:09anyway.
08:10And they'll be hopefully securing a number one seed, so it won't matter.
08:14But at the end of the day, how do I feel holistically overall about this schedule?
08:19I think it's a lot tougher than last year, but I think the Eagles are still a really good
08:23football team.
08:24And honestly, I think they're going to win 12 to 13 games this year.
08:29Last year, I said 11.
08:30They ended up winning 14.
08:31They set a franchise record for 10 consecutive wins.
08:35Sometimes coming off a Super Bowl, you're not going to have the same amount of wins,
08:38right?
08:38There'll be a little bit of a drop off.
08:40Plus, you have a much tougher schedule.
08:42But I still think the Eagles could be really good and good enough to get the one seed.
08:46So I'll go 12 to 13 wins.
08:49Just to be optimistic, I'll say 13 wins this season, 13 and four, and they end up securing
08:54a number one seed.
08:56The good thing about playing these teams this year is that all your division rivals are going
09:00to have to play the same teams.
09:01And I think the Eagles are going to run away with the NFC East.
09:04I think the Washington Commanders are probably the only team that could give them some trouble.
09:09But there is such a thing as a sophomore slump, and Jaden Daniels is going to have to adjust
09:13to that.
09:13Some of these other teams having more film on them and things like that.
09:16So overall, I think it'll be a very successful season.
09:20I think the Eagles opponents that they'll most likely lose to, if I had to guess, are the
09:25Buccaneers, either the Packers or the Lions, one of the Washington games, and one more,
09:31maybe the Bears on the Black Friday game or Buffalo in Week 17.
09:35But overall, I think the Eagles are going to be a successful team this year.
09:39And I am so excited to see how it plays out and see if they can run this thing back.
09:43Because I think Howie Roseman has set them up and put them in position to do so.
09:48But I want to hear from Eagle Nation down in the comments.
09:50What is your first reaction to this schedule?
09:54How many games do you think they're going to win this year?
09:55Give me all your thoughts down below.
09:57And as always, appreciate everybody for tapping in.
09:59Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe.
10:00And I'll catch you on the next one.
