00:00Well, it is official. The Eagles just got some fantastic news. The rest of the NFL is whining
00:07about it. And the funniest part, there's nothing they can do about it. That is right. The birds
00:12were saved by a special guest in Minneapolis today. We'll talk about it all. Also, we got
00:17some really good pressers yesterday from Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and more. A couple profound
00:23quotes that you do not want to miss. So we'll get into all of it right here. But welcome into A to
00:27Z Philly. I'm RB. And we started off with the bombshell breaking news of the day. The proposed
00:34ban on the Tush Push did not receive enough votes from NFL owners per multiple reports.
00:39The play is staying in the game. Let's take a step back for one second. What was it? February?
00:45March? Keep in mind, for the last two to two and a half months, the NFL has been trying to gather
00:52support and propaganda for the Eagles to get the Tush Push ban. This is a play that historically
01:00has zero injuries. And the main concern was players' safety. And they continued to try to
01:07build this up. For two and a half months, they pushed the vote to May. And ladies and gentlemen,
01:12they still didn't get it passed. Roger Goodell, the Players Committee, everybody wanted this thing
01:17gone. Because instead of trying to figure out how to actually beat it, they said, you know what,
01:22we're just going to weasel out. And the final tally comes in at 22 to 10. I am glad to know
01:28that there are still 10 owners in the league who have balls, who are not scared, who are not little
01:35wimps, and are just going to get down on their knees and say, you know what, we've had enough.
01:39We give up. We're done. We want to ban it. Instead of getting a bigger offensive line or a
01:45quarterback who can deadlift more or just maybe practicing the damn play, they said, you know
01:51what, nope, nope, we're going to try to ban it. Well, I'm glad 10 owners still have some balls and
01:58the integrity within the game. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a historical day. Because not only did the
02:05Eagles beat the Packers in the first round 22 to 10 last year in the wildcard game, 22 to 10 was also
02:11the final tally on today's vote. I mean, it's crazy. It's crazy how these things just line up,
02:18man. It is crazy how things come full circle. The Green Bay Packers owner or whoever he was
02:23literally cried about this for months. He said he didn't have a valid reason. He just didn't like
02:28the play. He wanted it to be gone. And over time, their campaign convinced more owners and more
02:35coaches and people to get along for the ride. Even Sean McDermott, who if you look back at the last
02:40couple years, the Bills and the Eagles run the play more than anybody. They have been the most
02:46successful. They have a combined success rate of like 86%. Eagles went from, I think, 91 to 88 to 81%
02:54conversion rate this year. And the Bills run it a lot. And even they wanted to ban it because they
03:00didn't even know why. They didn't know why. Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you something,
03:04all right? The Philadelphia Eagles are such a powerful franchise. They just won the Super Bowl.
03:09They got even better. And the one play that is a success that tried to get banned, that had months
03:16of support backing it, could not get banned. At the end of the day, nobody can stop the birds.
03:23And let me tell you something, for those 22 owners, we're going to expose one by one. We are going to
03:27find out who voted for it. And fourth and one comes up this season. It is going to be your worst
03:33nightmare. Ladies and gentlemen, the Tush Push lives on. As the Eagles page puts out here, push
03:39on. And they put a Packers-Eagles playoff game. That is amazing. That is amazing. What you don't
03:47know is that the vote was saved by Jason Kelsey. That is right. Jason Kelsey is officially the Tush
03:53Push hero. Apparently, there was a rumor that Jason Kelsey wanted to retire because of the Tush
04:01Push and because of injuries he suffered, which is completely false. And other owners were trying
04:07to stir this up in the pot in order to push the vote to ban it, which is insane. So Jeff Flory comes
04:14in, gives a half hour speech, and Jason Kelsey gives a speech. And I guess it was enough to convince
04:20the owners. Last thing I'll say on it is, again, as Field Yates echoes here, there's no data that says
04:28there were any injuries on this play. And their main concern is player safety. That's why they
04:33want to ban it. But there's no injuries. See how that doesn't add up? That doesn't correlate. So at
04:38the end of the day, the Eagles are going to keep doing this. They are going to keep being successful
04:43because they have the right personnel. And if you want to be successful at it, get the right personnel,
04:49study the Eagles tape, and learn how to do it. Simple as that. The Tush Push is here to stay,
04:54and I am so happy about it because it just shows how powerful the Eagles franchise is.
05:01Speaking of how powerful the Eagles franchise is, let's talk about the powerful quarterback,
05:07Jalen Hurts, who during his presser yesterday repeated a phrase, decode, detect, correct,
05:14a few times during his presser. Maybe it's the new catchphrase for the year. Jalen Hurts has said
05:20so many things that you could put in a book. You could write an entire script about Jalen Hurts,
05:26and you could literally have him play a role in a movie with all of these phrases he throws out
05:31there. Decode, detect, and correct. That is his mentality going into this offseason.
05:38Reporter asked Jalen Hurts about his big offseason, getting married, the Met Gala, Time Magazine,
05:44all these things. How do you keep that from preventing you from keeping the main thing the main thing?
05:49The main thing is always the main thing. One of his staple catchphrases. You only know what you
05:55see. The routine is always the routine. If I really needed some motivation, I would ask Jalen Hurts to
06:01have a private meeting with me and just throw out these phrases. These things just get you fired up
06:07and juiced up for the day. He always knows what to say, man, in terms of this inspiration. Jalen Hurts
06:13was also asked why he did not go to the White House this year. Quote, I wasn't available. I don't think that
06:18is pertinent. Everyone who went and was available, they seemed to enjoy themselves. So obviously,
06:23we know some players did not want to go to the White House for certain reasons. Jalen was one of
06:27them, and he said the same thing that everybody else said. You know, we were busy. We had a family
06:31matter. That's what A.J. Brown said. So it is what it is, and it's in the past now. But Jalen Hurts,
06:37on what he's learned, spending time with Michael Jordan. They had a private dinner that somebody took a
06:42picture of, somehow captured it, and being a Jordan rep, quote, as competitive as he is,
06:48it would be unwise to not seek knowledge from him and lean on him, being able to decode, detect,
06:53and correct. There's that phrase, and refine myself to be the best I can be when needed.
06:59Man, you could say whatever you want about Jalen Hurts. He definitely has this dog mentality,
07:04though. Like, you put his back up against the wall, he's going to fight, man. And in a couple ways,
07:11I'm not going to say he's Michael Jordan, okay? So relax. He's got that Jordan mentality, man.
07:17Like, game on the line. You know, you need a play. You need something to happen. You need
07:22leadership. Like, this guy is going to work his butt off, and I just love it. I think that's why
07:28he keeps improving, keeps getting better. He'll never stop because he wants to be the Jordan.
07:33You know, he wants to be relentless, and that's just who he is, man. Jalen Hurts was asked about
07:39Nick Sirianni's extension. Quote, first and foremost, congratulations to him. Everything
07:44he's achieved and accomplished he's earned. To see his evolution and growth playing quarterback
07:48for him, it's been a great experience, a great ride. Hopefully, we are just getting started.
07:54Keep in mind, these two had friction at one time. You know, it was never really that public, but
07:58as great leaders, you know, and important integral parts of this team, they had to grow. They had to
08:04nurture, and they did, and credit to them for being able to work it out, but he's genuinely
08:09happy for Nick Sirianni, and I'm very happy for Nick Sirianni. Speaking of, Nick Sirianni was on
08:16the podium yesterday talking about his extension, and apparently Nick Sirianni says that he's been
08:21talking to a lot of coaches this offseason trying to get better at my craft. Somebody put it this way,
08:27you don't want to pick a basketball game and say, all right, I'm satisfied. I'm going home.
08:30You say, hey, how can we run it back? It's really about the daily grind that you go through day in
08:37and day out. There's a mental toughness to being able to do that and go through that every single
08:41day. I love this guy, man. I mean, he's fought through everything. What a warrior. Nick Sirianni
08:46says, quote, I'm thankful. My family's thankful. I love being the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles,
08:51and I genuinely believe he gets up each day and loves coming to work. Even through the hard times,
08:56the criticisms, he's worked through it, man. Shout out to Nick Sirianni. Congrats on his contract
09:01extension. The guys are definitely happy for him. Here is what Jordan Mailata said about the
09:07right guard competition this year. Quote, we know Becton was a big loss. I'm not going to give you
09:11guys any info on who is running with the ones and twos. That's a Howie Roseman question. Those guys
09:16are going to come in every day and compete, and it's going to be a real tough competition. And the way I
09:21think about it, if right guard is your biggest concern, you're in a good spot. So shout out to
09:26Jordan Mailata. He also said in terms of Nick Sirianni, you know, he talked about the flowers
09:30a couple of years ago. I want to give him his flowers. So I thought that was a really cool tie
09:34in. And lastly, AJ Brown being AJ Brown, he was asked about potentially joining the team USA Olympic
09:41flag football team. He says, quote, I heard the Olympics is during camp. So no, hopefully it goes
09:46through me personally. No, you guys and the fans would be complaining about me not being in camp.
09:52So I'll keep the main thing, the main thing. You got to love AJ, man, his ability to bring
09:56some light to a situation and just have fun. I've always liked AJ Brown, man, obviously as
10:01a player, but you know, his personality, I don't know why people wanted to get him out
10:05of this city. He's just, he's such a gem. He's such a gem and he's coming back for another
10:10good season. So I can't wait. This Eagles team's in a good spot. And I'll tell you what, they're
10:15going to be in a good spot on third and short and fourth and short because the tush push is
10:20here to stay. Everybody tried to campaign against the birds to take them down with their amazing
10:25play and they couldn't do it. That's twice now, by the way, two times they tried to ban
10:30the tush push and they did not do it successfully. So the Eagles keep winning. They win on a random
10:36Wednesday in May and they keep stacking up the W's. Ladies and gentlemen, give me your thoughts
10:41down below. Appreciate everybody for tapping in. Be sure to like, comment and subscribe. And
10:45as always, I'll catch you on the next one.
10:50Bye.
