00:00Today's story, Mama, what is Eid? Celebrating Eid with Hafsa and Aira.
00:08Inside a cozy living room, morning light shines in Hafsa.
00:12Mama! Mama! Look, I drew a big moon and stars. Is Eid tomorrow?
00:18Eid. Yay!
00:23Eid, can I wear my sparkly dress, Mama?
00:25Mama. Yes, my sweetheart. Eid is almost here.
00:30But do you know why we celebrate Eid? Hafsa?
00:33Um, because we get new clothes? Aira?
00:37And Eidi. Lots of Eidi. Mama.
00:40Oh, my sweethearts. Those are fun parts, yes.
00:44But Eid is about something much more special.
00:47There are two Eids, Eid al-Fidir and Eid al-Adha.
00:51Want to hear their stories? Hafsa and Aira.
00:54Yes, please, Mama. Eid al-Fidir comes after the holy month of Ramadan.
01:00In Ramadan, we fast from sunrise to sunset, learning patience, kindness, and self-control.
01:07When the new moon is seen, we celebrate Eid to thank Allah for helping us through the month.
01:14That's why Eid al-Fidir means the festival of breaking the fast.
01:18We wake up early, wear our best clothes,
01:22go to the mosque, and say Eid Mubarak to everyone.
01:35And before the Eid prayer, we give a special charity called Zakat al-Fidir so that even those in need can enjoy the blessings of Eid.
01:51Aira. So Eid is for sharing too?
01:55Mama. Yes, sweetheart. It's about everyone feeling joy.
01:59Yeah!
02:00Mama. Now, Eid al-Adha comes later in the year.
02:07It reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim. Peace be upon him.
02:11He was ready to sacrifice something very dear to him, his son, because Allah asked him to.
02:18But Allah, in his mercy, replaced his son with a ram.
02:23So, on Eid al-Adha, we remember his strong faith and obedience.
02:28We sacrifice an animal and share the meat with family, friends, and those in need.
02:34Hafsa.
02:35Wow! Eid is about listening to Allah and helping others too.
02:40Mama.
02:40Exactly, Hafsa.
02:43Both Eids remind us to be thankful, kind, and generous.
02:47Yeah!
02:49Mama.
02:50Now, who's ready to help me make some delicious Sheer Kerma?
02:55Aira.
02:56Me!
03:00And I want to give some to Auntie Miriam next door.
03:04Hafsa.
03:06And I'll help pack Eid gifts for the kids at the orphanage.
03:10Mama.
03:11That's the spirit, my girls.
03:13Spreading love and joy.
03:15That's what Eid is all about.
03:17Girls hugging and smiling with Mama.
03:21Eid Mubarak.
03:22Mama.
03:23The moral of this story is Eid is not just about new clothes and sweets.
03:28It's about being grateful to Allah, sharing with others, and spreading kindness and love wherever we go.
