Another elephant has been hit by a vehicle.

This time the incident occurred at KM50 of the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road around 9.20pm on Tuesday (May 13).

Fortunately, the elephant and the car occupants were unhurt.

00:05This time the incident occurred at kilometer 50 of the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road.
00:10Kota Tinggi District Police Chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said a married couple was traveling
00:15from Kota Tinggi to Mersing at around 9.20 p.m. on Tuesday when four elephants crossed the road.
00:22The driver was unable to avoid the herd, resulting in a collision with one of the animals.
00:28Fortunately, the elephant and the couple were unhurt. Only the front of the vehicle was badly damaged.
00:35Authorities believe the elephants, including the one that was hit, returned to a nearby forest after the crash.
00:42A police report was filed by the victims to support insurance claims and official documentation.
00:49The incident occurred just days after an elephant calf was hit by a lorry on the Grig Jelly stretch of the East-West Highway and died.
