‘The Five’ co-hosts break down the latest wave of bombshell claims on former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. #news #foxnews #usa #thefive #politics #biden #jessewatters #greggutfeld #us #fox #book #new #president
00:00Hello, everyone. I'm Dana Perino, along with Katie Pavlich, Marie Harf, Jesse Waters, and Greg Gutfeld.
00:05It's five o'clock in New York City, and this is The Five.
00:14The Democrats who really want Joe Biden to go away, well, they might want to buckle up because we're getting another brutal bombshell about the cover-up of former President Biden's mental decline.
00:25Privately, advisors debated whether a wheelchair would be required to get him through a second term.
00:30The president's doctor privately said that if he had another bad fall, a wheelchair might be necessary, and quipped that Biden's staff members were trying to kill him while he was trying to keep him alive.
00:42These revelations shouldn't come as a shock if you were watching The Five during the Biden presidency, and now one of the book's co-authors is using the L word to describe the White House.
00:52Alex Thompson and I were on the case, as were lots of other reporters, trying to figure out what was going on behind the scenes.
01:01But the bottom line is the White House was lying, not only to the press, not only to the public, but they were lying to members of their own cabinet.
01:08There are critics, however, that are pointing this out. The Tapper's record on the subject isn't exactly squeaky clean.
01:14How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that?
01:20It's very clearly a cognitive decline. That's what I'm referring to. It makes me uncomfortable to watch the money on stage search for questions.
01:28It's so amazing to me that The Washington Post just put out a piece examining how President Biden embraces his stutter, talking about it, while Trump mocks it, exaggerates it, belittles it.
01:38He's sharp physically. I mean, mentally. I think the question is physically, right?
01:43He's 81, and his memory, you know, it doesn't seem great. It's not horrible.
01:48But that's not all, folks. Joe Biden apparently did not recognize George Clooney at their fundraiser and had to be told who he was by an aide.
01:56Now, that is an outrage, isn't it? Which apparently left the superstar shaken to his core.
02:01And that was the part that I thought was pretty funny. Like, imagine you're George Clooney, Jesse, and somebody doesn't recognize you.
02:07Like, when that happens to you, is it really upsetting?
02:10It is. How dare they? And then George Clooney said, all right, I'm going to write the op-ed that does him in.
02:15Did him in. Barack, remember, told him to write the op-ed. Clooney doesn't do anything.
02:19That was Denzel Washington.
02:21Denzel. He's the black actor, right?
02:23Yes.
02:24Okay, good. So, wheelchairs, there's nothing wrong with wheelchairs.
02:27I use them all the time at the airport.
02:30You don't even have to have a doctor's note. You could just say you're late, and they'll wheel you around, you give them 20 bucks, it's fine.
02:37We were just talking about what we would have called Joe if he was in a wheelchair, a sleep at the wheel.
02:42You were talking about it.
02:44Yes.
02:44Yeah, it was just me, wasn't it?
02:46So, I want to just talk to the people that don't watch us.
02:51How would I do that if they're watching us?
02:53But let me put it differently.
02:54Do you like to time travel?
02:56Do you like to see the future?
02:58Well, I have something in store for you.
03:01You can just watch Fox, and you don't have to buy books from CNN.
03:05You'll know the future by watching us.
03:09That's how this goes.
03:10Now, Jake, this is what the media is doing.
03:14I wasn't a part of the cover-up.
03:16Ron Klain's like, no, it was Dr. Jill.
03:18Tapper's like, oh, no, we were trying real hard.
03:21It's everybody's pointing their finger.
03:24He's getting paid to write a book about what we said four years ago.
03:28And we had Rand Paul on last night.
03:32And Rand Paul was against tariffs.
03:34He was against the Muslim plane and the drug prices.
03:37And that's fine, because at this company, you can say whatever you want if it's your opinion.
03:41We don't have to toe the line here.
03:43Now, if you go back four years, and someone had gone on CNN and said,
03:47Biden's brain dead, the lab leak, the laptop,
03:52they would have cut your mic, and you would have been banished from CNN.
03:55Now, being banished from CNN is a badge of honor.
03:58But still, you can hear the truth here.
04:00If Joe Biden had done decently at that debate, cover-up still would have happened.
04:05There would have been no book.
04:06There would have been no book advance.
04:08We would not be hearing about this.
04:09They would have just slapped him in a wheelchair on November 6th,
04:12and they would have said, see, he's just like FDR.
04:15They're both in wheelchairs, and they both defeated Nazis.
04:18What's more dangerous, Trump being president or a secretive cabal of unelected officials
04:24controlling the president using Autopen and overruling him
04:27and then lying to the public about it?
04:29What's more unconstitutional?
04:30What's more corrupt?
04:32In a way, Trump saved democracy.
04:36That's brilliant.
04:38Brilliant even for me.
04:38And you can say whatever you want here.
04:40That doesn't make it right.
04:41One thing that really bothers me, Greg,
04:43is that still there's so many anonymous sources,
04:45but they're not anonymous because they're worried that Democrats will be mad at them.
04:49They're worried that they're going to be caught as liars.
04:53Yeah.
04:53You know what I mean?
04:54That matters at this point.
04:55I love that they thought that he needed a wheelchair if he won.
05:01Apparently, he wouldn't need one if he didn't win.
05:04No, they just didn't care.
05:06They didn't care about his health at all.
05:09They just worried about the optics, that he would need a wheelchair if he won.
05:13I am tired of these books.
05:15They should have watched The Five.
05:16They should have watched Fox.
05:17We were doing the reporting in real time.
05:19Not right now.
05:20The books are now just an admission of guilt.
05:23The Dems can never bring up the 25th Amendment ever again.
05:27Even if Trump's brain is in a vat in the Oval Office running the country,
05:32we're going to say, oh, no, no, no.
05:34He's sharp as a tack.
05:36But there's this other thing about the media's excuse, which is killing me.
05:41The White House was lying.
05:43Well, duh.
05:45That's to be expected.
05:47It's called spin.
05:49Your job is to assume that they're not telling you the truth.
05:53You're a journalist.
05:54You just don't go, oh, they say Joe's fine.
05:57Nothing to see here.
05:59I mean, you should offer a little bit more resistance than Facebook asking if you're 18.
06:04That's how bad it is.
06:06So it's not about the media.
06:07It's not about Joe's condition at all.
06:09Nobody cares at this point.
06:11It's the media's condition.
06:12There are two diagnoses.
06:14One, you're the dumbest, most incompetent generation of journalists ever on the planet.
06:19Or two, you deliberately covered up Joe's dramatic decline because you're biased.
06:24That is all you have.
06:25There's no there's no in between.
06:26I would say if I were them, I would come clean and go, you know what?
06:31We knew Biden was a mess.
06:32It was obvious.
06:33But as Democrats, we preferred him over this existential threat known as Donald Trump.
06:39And they had called him Hitler, which meant anytime they criticized Biden, they would get grief for helping Hitler.
06:48So they couldn't actually be honest or else that would be seen as somehow doing something horrible.
06:53But the media, Biden's still alive.
06:57The media is dead.
06:58You know, put a tag on their toe, call Quincy, shove the body in a fridge because the corpse, it's starting to reek.
07:06And who's going to identify the body?
07:08Well, I have a suggestion.
07:10Chuck Schumer was asked about this.
07:12And we have a little sound.
07:14Watch it.
07:14You said in June of last year, in my meetings with President Biden, I found him to be in command and impressive and wielding influence to make progress on key priorities.
07:25But in that same month, Biden apparently did not even recognize George Clooney in a fundraiser.
07:31Were you being straight with the American public?
07:32Look, we're just looking forward.
07:36Marie, is that going to cut it for Democrats?
07:38I know you want Democrats to win and be successful in the future.
07:41Will that help?
07:42No, and I think because I want Democrats to win and because I think Donald Trump is an existential threat to many of the things we care about.
07:51And the fact that the people in the White House who agree with me on that in the Biden White House, they believed this about Trump winning again.
07:58They knew how problematic that would be for so many of the things they have fought for.
08:03And yet in 2017 and 18, 19, 20, they saw that, you know, they got him elected and then they saw the decline continue.
08:13And after the midterms, I've talked to lots of my friends who've worked in that White House.
08:17After the midterms, there was never a conversation about whether he should run again because Democrats overperformed.
08:22Right.
08:22We did better than people thought we would.
08:24Biden took credit and nobody had the courage in that White House to stand up to him and Jill Biden and say, if you run again, we will lose.
08:34And the fact that it got to the June of the election year and that disastrous debate performance for him to be forced out.
08:43I mean, there we had no chance at that point.
08:45Right.
08:46Kamala, you can't run a campaign with no primary being anointed in 100 days.
08:52And I am I am the fact that George Clooney had more courage than every elected Democrat.
08:58They made fun of Dean Phillips.
09:00Right.
09:01To say that they didn't recognize him.
09:03Well, but he didn't recognize him.
09:05It sounds like he didn't recognize a lot of people that worked for him.
09:09The fact that he was the only one to say, I need to write a New York Times op ed.
09:12And all these people now they're coming out, most of them anonymously, which I agree is I don't like David Plus, you know, God bless him.
09:19At least he's willing to be on the record.
09:21At least he's willing to be on the record.
09:22This is one of those points where George Clooney or a celebrity could actually say, do you know who I am?
09:27You don't even know.
09:28You know, I there's so much anger.
09:31And I like Joe Biden a lot.
09:32I don't like that his legacy will always be.
09:35It will always be this.
09:36And his team did that to him.
09:37Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate, you're not my assistant Kate.
09:42You're Katie.
09:43There are 200 Democratic insiders quoted in here.
09:46A lot of them are anonymous.
09:48Even their current spokespeople, they want to remain anonymous.
09:51They don't want anything to do with this.
09:54OK, they are still so afraid of just speaking the truth about what happened, that they're not willing to come out on the record on this when everybody could see what was going on.
10:04Nobody was courageous.
10:06George Clooney wasn't courageous.
10:08Barack Obama wasn't courageous.
10:10Nancy Pelosi wasn't courageous.
10:12Democrats had a choice.
10:13They could have had a primary.
10:14And instead of having a primary, they were running around suing RFK Jr.
10:19and Dean Phillips, trying to keep them off of ballots.
10:21There was a choice here.
10:23Can I add one thing?
10:24Sure.
10:24They also didn't want a primary because Biden and his team did not believe that Kamala Harris would win.
10:28Well, after he dropped out.
10:31So they lost the opportunity on two primaries, on the front end and on the back end.
10:35They lost, too.
10:36It was so much for a democracy.
10:38They were all fine with this because they wanted Joe Biden to stay in office because he was an empty vessel.
10:43They were allowed to push through whatever they wanted.
10:45We still have no answers about who was actually making these decisions.
10:48We don't even have a lot of information still on the day that he dropped out and posted his resignation letter for the campaign on Twitter.
10:54We don't have very much information about that.
10:57So this is about a lack of trust.
10:58And for Jake Tapper to come out now and say, oh, well, the White House was lying.
11:03Well, so were you.
11:04And CNN covered a presidential election.
11:07And you don't think that it was pertinent to the American people and important for them to know about all of these details.
11:12And now all of a sudden that these anonymous sources and people are willing to talk about it, they want to pat on the back for saying what was obvious.
11:19We have more details now, but this was happening.
11:22And for now them to say the doctor was recommending there may need to be a wheelchair for the second term.
11:28Let's not forget they never made the White House doctor available for questioning, not a single time.
11:32Do you think there will be a congressional hearing?
11:34I do.
11:35I think there will be.
11:36Yes.
11:36Well, we will have much more on this.
11:38It's not going to end.
