00:00I had just discovered that echo plex, that when you play, a tape goes round, but once
00:26it goes around after a certain amount of time, you can add another guitar to it, and then
00:33you can add another guitar to it, and wow, that was amazing.
00:37I just made up a chord progression, and then I play, the loop goes around, a harmony, the
01:06harmony, and so on, and I went like, wow, this is great, it sounded so good.
01:13I recorded it on this cheap tape recorder I had, and on the way to Christmas with Phil,
01:20and the others, I remember at the Undercorn station on the escalator, I switched it on.
01:27Hey, listen to this.
01:29Didi-di-di-di-di, didi-di.
01:30Oh, that sounds great.
01:31Hey, Michael, can we meet somewhere, you know, can we meet?
01:32And so, Phil came over to my place.
01:33I just moved in there basically, and he came into my place.
01:35And then, he came into my place, and then he came into my place, and I was looking for
01:51a full display of bands.
01:54to my place i just moved in there basically and he came into my place and i remember like
02:00you know i had a table here first sitting over there i'm sitting over here so he wanted me to
02:06figure you know play the chords without the guitar so that he had something to
02:10to figure out the melody for his vocals and stuff like that and so that's what i did
02:15and then he took it home and and then basically we have done that with quite a few songs
02:22in general you know that was kind of our i would come up try me was done exactly the same way i
02:27wrote an instrumental and it ended up so good that that phil wanted to take out the instrumental and
02:35just let him hear the chords and see what he can come up with and he would come up with something
02:39really good and then we just started him singing over the same chords until we got you know after
02:45two verses and choruses uh we inserted the the the instrumental part of the song
03:01i'm on the road so far away from you
03:15you know to be honest doctor doctor i'm not really sure how well people took that song in the
03:29beginning and i didn't focus on it either i mean you know we were playing gigs i wasn't there for
03:36doctor doctor i was there because i enjoyed you know playing and and playing lead guitar and so on and
03:42you know um took about 10 years before dr doctor did anything really because i think once it came
03:51once it made it on the live album i think that's when it took off
