00:00Without objection, the gentleman from Kentucky is recognized for one minute.
00:06Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Many parts of Kentucky are just now recovering from a devastating flood
00:13that we saw a few weeks ago. I want to thank the first responders who were first on the scene,
00:19thank our utility crews who worked day and night to restore utilities, and I want to
00:26let the families who lost everything know that anything my office can do to be of any assistance,
00:34don't hesitate to reach out. We've had President Trump sign a declaration for individual assistance.
00:42FEMA should be on the ground working with families to try to help identify any type of assistance that
00:50the families in need can qualify for, and I want to encourage FEMA to continue to work with the
00:56local governments to ensure that the heavy burden of debris removal is reimbursed by the federal
01:05government, and that's something that my office will continue to ensure to see that happen. So
01:09we've had devastating floods. The government's responsibilities to help those in need,
01:14and that's what we expect to do. So, Mr. Speaker, I just wanted to make that point
01:19loud and clear and hope that we can continue to work through the recovery phase. I yield back.
