00:00Philadelphia City, a champion, is the first ever women's peer champion.
00:03We'll be crowned in an upcoming tournament.
00:05This match is set for one follow, a 15 minute time limit, and
00:08it will be contested under pure wrestling rules.
00:13Introducing first, wrestling at the Ocean State, Ashley Fox.
00:19She's a real catch.
00:22And we've talked about Layla Gray, Taya Valkyrie.
00:28We've speculated Marina Shafir wrestled a pretty pure match in that opening contest.
00:32But Caprice, there's a reason that Ashley Fox is called the real catch.
00:36She wrestles catch wrestling, which is honestly a great.
00:41It's a pure form of wrestling, Riccoboni, it's a pure form of wrestling.
00:46And synonymous with fish hooks and holds.
00:48Ashley Fox has some great showings over the years in Ring of Honor,
00:52has a great opportunity here tonight.
00:54Our broadcast colleague Taz talking about Philadelphia, from right across the river comes this athlete.
01:00Her opponent, the rest out of Hackenstown, New Jersey, the virtuosa Deanna Purrazzo.
01:11And in the first women's pure match in Ring of Honor history, Deanna Purrazzo,
01:18former Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, enters in Atlantic City,
01:24just miles away from where she made her professional wrestling debut,
01:28to take on a very capable, very challenging athlete, Ashley Fox.
01:35I called one of Deanna Purrazzo's first professional bouts.
01:40Caprice, just about 35 miles away in Paulsboro, New Jersey.
01:44It's been a pleasure watching Deanna Purrazzo grow in the sport and becoming who she is right now.
01:51Former Ring of Honor Women's Champion, getting a shot to be in the tournament for the Ring of Honor
01:56Pier Championship, the women's side.
01:59And I want to see this matchup.
02:01This is a history-making matchup right here in itself.
02:04It certainly is.
02:04Imagine if Deanna goes on to win the championship.
02:06Well, that'd be something Code of Honor adhered to.
02:09Now, this is not a tournament match.

02:18You see the three markers underneath each athlete's name.
02:22Those are to count rope breaks.
02:24They're indicative of how many rope breaks each athlete has left.
02:27When you exhaust your three rope breaks, you can be pinned or submitted
02:33underneath, between, on top of, inside the ropes.
02:36It's an interesting wrinkle.
02:37You get one close fist, a second result of the disqualification.
02:40You see the timer for non-title matches.
02:42It is a 10-minute time limit.
02:43As Ashley Vox is looking for the hook there.
02:45It is Peraza with a wrist lock.
02:48I'm curious to see how familiar a lot of women athletes are going to be with the rules,

03:02She has counters to counters.
03:03Where their instincts kick in when they get close to the ropes or where they remember
03:09what's going on.
03:09Because I'm sure even though the women haven't been in the peer tournament or in the peer division,
03:13they've watched it and admired it.
03:15That's how you get people like Serena Deeb.

03:40That is rope break number one used by Ashley Vox.
03:43Perrazzo setting a lot of traps there, reaching high, going lows and stuff,
03:48making Ashley Vox reach into the wrong direction to open up other body parts.
03:53And to your earlier point, Caprice, sometimes we see this with the male athletes.
03:57In their first peer match, they go to the ropes too early.
04:00And sometimes we see the opposite.
04:02Sometimes they don't go quick enough.
04:03And now the fish hook is in.
04:04The fish hook locked in.
04:07Oh, it's Perrazzo though, using the strength.
04:11And it's really finding that balance of how soon to use your rope breaks.
04:17And of course you have science behind it.
04:19Like a peer champion.

04:56Especially, you know, there were stretches of Perrazzo's career where she was
05:01really wrestling four or five times a week as she was breaking in.
05:04She's a young athlete, but certainly experienced.
05:10And he can work on that neck.
05:11That'll work on any wrestler.
05:12It's Perrazzo now.

05:21And here's the thing here.
05:22Is she going to try to tease?

05:33Makes him just close to the ropes to make the wrestler want to grab the rope to get out of it.

05:44And, and, well, Mike Posey saw that was an intentional move to tie up Vox.
05:51And, oh, Perrazzo able to break it.
05:53So does that count as a rope break, Ripper Bonnie?

05:59Now, contrary to what you might think, yeah, she, she did in fact break Vox out of the ropes.
06:06That does not count as a rope break.
06:08I mean, but literally, never mind.

06:17This is the spirit of Ashley Vox.
06:18Will become a Ring of Honor regular through 2020, 2019, 2020, 2021.
