00:00so in this video we'll explore three major ai news and first we'll look into microsoft's
00:05introduction of a new ai focused co-pilot key on keyboards then take a look at lg's innovative
00:10home assisting robot set to debut at ces 2024 and finally delve into intel's venture into
00:16artificial intelligence with their new company articulate ai so in february 2024 something new
00:23is coming to the world of personal computers especially for those using microsoft's windows
00:28operating system for the first time in about 30 years there's going to be a big change in the
00:34design of computer keyboards microsoft is introducing a special co-pilot key on these
00:39keyboards that is designed to launch microsoft's ai chatbot this change is part of microsoft's
00:44efforts to integrate more artificial intelligence into everyday technology they're working with
00:48other computer makers to include this ai button in laptops showing how important their partnership
00:53with open ai is microsoft wants to be at the forefront of using generative ai technology
00:59which is a type of ai that can create new content while many of us use our phones to access the
01:05internet and ai applications the introduction of this ai button on keyboards is quite significant
01:10it marks the beginning of what looks like a competitive year ahead in the tech world
01:14companies are racing to develop and incorporate ai applications even though there are still unresolved
01:19issues around ethics and legality for example last month the new york times sued both open ai and
01:25microsoft they claimed that tools like chat gpt and copilot were using copyrighted news articles without
01:31permission now let's talk about this new keyboard the biggest change microsoft made to pc keyboards
01:37before this was in the 1990s when they introduced the windows key marked with their four squared logo
01:44this key has been a constant feature on keyboards designed for windows the new ai button will feature
01:50the copilot logo which looks like a ribbon and will be placed near the space bar depending on the
01:55computer it might take the spot of the right control key or a menu key microsoft isn't the first to
02:01come up with the idea of custom keys on keyboards apple started this trend back in the 1980s with its command
02:08key google also tried something similar on its chromebooks and the now discontinued pixelbook where they
02:14had a key for launching their voice assistant however microsoft's influence in the pc market is much
02:20larger they work with many third-party manufacturers like lenovo dell and hp in fact about 82 percent of
02:27all desktops laptops and workstations run windows this is a lot more compared to apple's and google's
02:33operating systems as of now microsoft hasn't shared which computer makers will include the copilot button
02:39apart from their own premium surface devices but we might get to see some of these new models at the
02:44upcoming ces gadget show in las vegas next week this new copilot key is an exciting step for microsoft
02:51and for all of us who use computers as it opens up a new way to interact with ai technology all right now
