00:00Barisan Asinat Chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamadi dismisses the Sabah for Sabah and sentiment
00:07being promoted ahead of the upcoming state election as divisive, reminding its proponents
00:12that we are all Malaysians. The Deputy Prime Minister said it is also counterproductive,
00:19as Sabah is a member of the Federation and maintaining a close relationship with Putrajaya
00:24is key to the state's prosperity and development. Zahid said Amna wants to contest the seat
00:29it won in the previous Sabah state election, which he said is a prerequisite for talks
00:34on cooperating with ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah. He said while BN had 14 assemblymen and
00:40GRS had 11 after the last state election in 2020, GRS now has 42 as a result of party-hopping.
00:48Last Friday, the Unity Government Coalition Secretariat announced that Pakatan Harapan and
00:52BN had agreed to work together for the state election. In response, GRS Chairman Hajiji Noor
00:59said the ruling coalition was ready to contest solo and focus on working with other local
01:03parties. He added that local Sabah parties should be the backbone of the state government, as
01:09as they had a better understanding of Sabahans.
