00:02:20No penalty, no matter.
00:02:25The McPain's just got on with it.
00:02:34Gordon was flying, not sent flying by Caicedo.
00:02:38That was all fair and above board, but...
00:02:41Look at that for a challenge.
00:02:43Romeo and Lavia shoved off the ball by Tonali.
00:02:47Who then looks onside as it's played into him.
00:02:50And he pops the ball over the diving Sanchez to make it Newcastle United 1-Chelsea nil.
00:02:57Just the start Eddie Howe would have wanted,
00:03:00especially with his team having only dropped seven points
00:03:02from leading positions in the Premier League this season.
00:03:06Cher.
00:03:09Dino Kimaraj.
00:03:10Baby Cher gets to it ahead of Colwell.
00:03:15Not able to fully pull it back to Barnes.
00:03:17Murphy.
00:03:21Barnes.
00:03:23Barnes gets through, but...
00:03:24I think he'd run out of steam.
00:03:27Off balance as he tried to shoot towards goal,
00:03:30ended up just passing it to Sanchez.
00:03:32Enzo Mareska right now.
00:03:38Only in the pink in terms of his attire.
00:03:44Now Jackson.
00:03:46He's going to get a yellow card.
00:03:48And it's going to be looked at just to see if that's worthy of more.
00:03:56And I tell you what, this won't be a short glance.
00:03:59They'll have a good look at this.
00:04:01He has gone into Sven Botman.
00:04:02And the elbow was raised and went into the neck of the Newcastle defender at pace.
00:04:10And John Brooks is going to be asked to go across to the monitor
00:04:13and have another look here.
00:04:15Which tells us that Darren England, for one, thinks that this does warrant serious foul play.
00:04:28There's the glance.
00:04:29This will be quite a surprise if the yellow card is not upgraded to red.
00:04:37And here we go.
00:04:39Forget the yellow.
00:04:41It's a red card for Nicholas Jackson.
00:04:44And Chelsea are a goal down.
00:04:49They're a player down.
00:04:50And they're missing Jackson for the rest of the Premier League season.
00:04:59Newcastle now will be at full throttle.
00:05:09Everything going their way as Tonali swings it in.
00:05:12And Byrne goes for the header.
00:05:15Flag is up anyway.
00:05:17Didn't miss by much.
00:05:19Wouldn't have mattered.
00:05:23And he is offside.
00:05:29Murphy.
00:05:40Issac now Tonali.
00:05:44Tonali got it in.
00:05:45Issac gets around.
00:05:47Couldn't get past Sanchez.
00:05:51It's lovely Newcastle football.
00:05:54It's all Chelsea can do right now to hang on until the break.
00:05:57As things stand.
00:05:59This is only going one way.
00:06:01His way.
00:06:04Chalapa.
00:06:07It's Kaysedo who'd move forward.
00:06:09Palmer, brilliant footwork.
00:06:11And he's going to have a drive.
00:06:13It's going to have to be better than that to catch Nick Pope out.
00:06:18And out go Newcastle.
00:06:20It's Livramento who is fully recovered and now it's Gordon.
00:06:24Was that a barge in the back?
00:06:26Not in the rest of you.
00:06:31Just a little nudge from Rhys James.
00:06:36More side to side than barging back.
00:06:40And deemed not to be over the threshold for a penalty.
00:06:43Lavia.
00:06:50Palmer.
00:06:51Allowed a pocket of space to take it and turn.
00:06:54And now it's Kukureya.
00:06:56Good save by Pope.
00:06:59Tressed in the service at last.
00:07:00Proper service.
00:07:02Proper goalkeeping.
00:07:04Only one thought in Mark Kukureya's mind here.
00:07:07Head down.
00:07:07Hit.
00:07:09Super reaction time from Pope.
00:07:10Curled across to Kraft.
00:07:16Murphy trying to find some space in front.
00:07:18It's Bruno Gimaraes first.
00:07:19Now Murphy.
00:07:21It's a lovely lift back in.
00:07:24Gimaraes!
00:07:25Not quite so lovely.
00:07:27That was a wild lash.
00:07:32Look at that for a touch of skill and finesse from Murphy.
00:07:37And then quite the opposite from his captain.
00:07:40It's been a quieter second half.
00:07:44Chelsea hoping to change that idea.
00:07:47Pedro Neto.
00:07:48Looking for Sancho.
00:07:49What a ball that is.
00:07:50A little bit of check on it helps too.
00:07:53Here's Fernandez.
00:07:55Not far away.
00:07:56And there is a touch.
00:07:57It's going to be a corner.
00:07:58Is Fernandez going for goal?
00:08:02Well, he would have found it.
00:08:03But for the fingertips of Nick Pope.
00:08:09Palmer.
00:08:15Fernandez.
00:08:17That's James.
00:08:18This is Gusto.
00:08:20Gusto looking for James again.
00:08:21London, it's too high.
00:08:24That was the chance.
00:08:27And Enzo Mareska knows it.
00:08:29To get something today, I think this had to go in.
00:08:32And in the circumstances they found themselves in this afternoon,
00:08:36taking a point back to West London would be quite some result.
00:08:40A little bit of afters here too, involving Kraft and Murphy and Kukurea.
00:08:58The yellow's out.
00:09:01A card for Kraft.
00:09:02And that's it.
00:09:05A free kick for Newcastle though, that will suit them more.
00:09:07Look at Bern.
00:09:14Arms stretched out wide.
00:09:17Angel of the North.
00:09:19And it's come his way.
00:09:24Bruno Gimeraj.
00:09:27He's gone for goal.
00:09:28Oh, my goodness me.
00:09:31That's how to win it.
00:09:35That's how to take your team.
00:09:37To the brink of a place in the Champions League.
00:09:43Job done.
00:09:45Finished in style.
00:09:48That is a captain's goal and a half.
00:09:52Little move away to give himself just the sight and the angle he wanted.
00:09:58It's got a deflection.
00:09:59It had to have done for the way that it looped.
00:10:02But take nothing away from Bruno Gimeraj.
00:10:06Newcastle United have taken a giant stride towards getting back into the Champions League.
00:10:12And it might be at Chelsea's expense.
00:10:15I think there's an expectation now that every game here is a huge game.
00:10:20And I think our history certainly helps us in that.
00:10:22You know, we've had some huge games.
00:10:23Champions League, two cup finals.
00:10:25You get used to that rhythm.
00:10:28Today I thought we dealt with it really well because we knew how important the result was.
00:10:32But you can't let that sort of sway you from what are the core things that are important.
00:10:36To come here and for one hour to play with 10 players is not the easy thing.
00:10:42But in the second half, the team showed effort.
00:10:45You know, togetherness, the spirit, the energy was unbelievable.
00:10:48It's still in your hands, technically.
00:10:50Absolutely, yes.
00:10:52Now we have two Premier League games.
00:10:54The first one is on Friday.
00:10:55We need to win Friday and then we can be focused on the next one.
00:10:58Bruno, tell us about that goal that you've just scored.
00:11:01Big deflection, yes, but what a strike.
00:11:03Not that big.
00:11:05Beautiful goal, very happy.
00:11:06It was an important goal for us.
00:11:10Today's Mom's Day in Brazil.
00:11:12So I want to give this goal to my mom, to my wife.
00:11:14It has been an unbelievable moment to my children.
00:11:17It means a lot to me, score.
00:11:18A tough game.
00:11:19I've gained a tough team.
00:11:21Very happy for the three points.
00:11:22Now we have to celebrate because it was a good one.
00:11:26There was a real energy about them, wasn't there, today?
00:11:28Just the energy in St James' Park right from the very start.
00:11:31And Chelsea struggled to cope with them.
00:11:34Well, Newcastle never disappoint you.
00:11:36They come out tenacious, press high, all over the pitch.
00:11:39We've seen it in recent weeks.
00:11:40They've been terrific at home.
00:11:41I felt that the Chelsea players and manager didn't have a plan and they weren't prepared.
00:11:46I'll go as far as to say that.
00:11:48And there's a few reasons why.
00:11:50I think mentally as a player you have to be prepared for the ferocious press that you're going to get.
00:11:55This is Caicedo who's chosen as right-back ahead of James and Gusto.
00:11:59Probably for when they had the ball, but he was tested early by Gordon.
00:12:02Gets away with this one.
00:12:04Gets the ball.
00:12:05It wasn't a pen, but he's lunging.
00:12:07Then they've got the ball.
00:12:08What are they going to do?
00:12:09Right, there's time to play.
00:12:10Lavia, but he doesn't look over his shoulder quick enough.
00:12:12So he can't play forward and Tonali's on him.
00:12:15He was outstanding, by the way.
00:12:17When they win it back, they feed it out right.
00:12:20And just in the bottom of your screen, you're going to see a midfielder playing at right-back.
00:12:24He doesn't sense the danger.
00:12:26Doesn't get in quick enough.
00:12:27And Tonali, we've seen him many times do this.
00:12:30All of a sudden, the crowd's up.
00:12:31They're on it.
00:12:32Right, now they're setting themselves to press Newcastle.
00:12:35There's not enough pressure on the ball.
00:12:36No one to find for Chelsea, so he's going to have to go long.
00:12:39But Madiweke's got to be on the shoulder and get him behind.
00:12:42They're man for man.
00:12:43He's quick.
00:12:43The Chelsea front three have got pace.
00:12:45It's just an aimless ball.
00:12:47So that's what I'm talking about.
00:12:48Where's the planning?
00:12:48Have they done it in training the days before?
00:12:50They know what's coming.
00:12:53This one, when it comes back, I think it's Salavia this time.
00:12:57He doesn't look up, but he's trying to hook it on and clear it.
00:13:00The three players, the three Chelsea forwards, look how deep they are.
00:13:03There's no out ball.
00:13:05Again, it just seems off the cuff.
00:13:08What are they trying to do to negate this start that Newcastle always seem to have on teams at St. James' Park?
00:13:13And you say they're all quick.
00:13:15They're all quick.
00:13:16It's not like they don't.
00:13:17Newcastle changed system today, but this was a mentality.
00:13:20It wasn't about the tactics.
00:13:22It's a mentality thing.
00:13:23Look, Tonali on Parma, quick.
00:13:25I mean, Parma's one of the most comfortable players on the ball, to be fair to him, and gets a free kick.
00:13:30But it shows the mentality of the Newcastle players.
00:13:32High risk, high energy.
00:13:34Right, Chelsea pressing, trying to go after the ball.
00:13:36Is it strategic?
00:13:38Is it planned?
00:13:39Well, I don't think so.
00:13:40Because when they get the pass around the corner here, I think it's Bruno.
00:13:42There's the two wing-backs, the front three, so that's a five.
00:13:47One pass through.
00:13:48Harvey Barnes, you've got a five v four.
00:13:51OK, you could argue they didn't know they were going to play a five, but still, throwing them forward to try and press, doesn't look structured.
00:13:59Doesn't look like they've worked on it.
00:14:00Right, we've seen this before.
00:14:01I've done it with you, Chappers.
00:14:03Newcastle, man for man all over the pitch.
00:14:04Look at the Newcastle back three against Chelsea's back three.
00:14:08The keeper's got time.
00:14:09What's he trying to do?
00:14:10Tries to dink one into somebody's chest.
00:14:12All the spaces in behind Newcastle's back three for the runners, which he hasn't got, because they haven't worked on it and they haven't made a plan.
00:14:21And that stat is damning, isn't it, before the red card?
00:14:24Look, there's nothing wrong with trying to play some good football anywhere, but you've got to be able to vary your play and make decisions on how the game's going.
00:14:33And it didn't feel like the players were capable, but they hadn't been given a plan from the coach, I don't think, on how to negate Newcastle's strength.
00:14:40How challenging is it setting up a team against Eddie Howe's Newcastle?
00:14:45I'm going to stick up for Enzo because he's a coach and it's difficult, but I understand what Danny's saying and I agree to an extent.
00:14:51So the tactical preparation to go to Newcastle is very different from the mental or the emotional preparation for a team, getting them ready to go and play against Newcastle at home.
00:15:00You just saw a clip there of Cole Palmer receiving the ball, facing his own goal, gets hunted, gets fouled and the crowd celebrates like they've scored.
00:15:09So this is what you are stepping into at Newcastle.
00:15:12If you're going to play, and like Danny said, if you're not going to mix the game up and try and play forward a bit earlier to negate the press early on and you decide that you're, which Chelsea do, and they play through and they're good at it and they build up.
00:15:22But if you're going to do that, you need to play maximum energy because Newcastle play the whole crowd and you have to take energy away from them, take away from the crowd.
00:15:29That might be playing through successfully once or twice, but when Romeo Lava doesn't open his shoulders up quick enough, doesn't move enough energy or intensity himself, gets pressed, gets hunted, all you do is feed the energy, feed the crowd.
00:15:41So you're trying to take the energy out of them all the time.
00:15:43You have to, you have to take a bit of spirit away and a bit of energy and that's through either hurting them in behind and scaring them a little bit so they don't come with as much intensity the next time.
00:15:51And then maybe again, or you play so clean and so intense in the build-up.
00:15:55Romeo Lava, if he opens his shoulders up a tiny bit earlier and looks at Tenali, who's running, it maybe stops Tenali pressing or even just slows him down a little bit.
00:16:03Stops him doing it next time.
00:16:04Yeah, but the fact he doesn't look and he can see his number and it's just, it's absolutely meat and drink to Newcastle because they're just going to run.
00:16:09The only is, chaps, I've just got to say, when Chelsea went to 10, because the sending off was pivotal in some respects, Chelsea lifted the game, they did everything quicker.
00:16:16They know the intensity has to go up there, won't they? Yeah, they know they have to play maximum intensity then.
00:16:20So they're capable, but they didn't, it's not like they're not capable of doing it, but they didn't start that way.
00:16:23And when the sending off happened, which we'll have a quick look at in a minute, Chelsea's mentality changed.
00:16:28Let's have a look at it.
00:16:29Newcastle got a bit nervous, it was a weird game.
00:16:31Let's have a look at it then. It's difficult to disagree with the eventual decision, isn't it?
00:16:36Yeah, we spoke about it and it is, I mean, when you look at it really slow, it's really, I guess people would think it's an easy decision.
00:16:43In my opinion, knowing, having played that position as a centre-half a lot, and understanding why a striker would want to use his arm to nudge you out.
00:16:50I think when he looks, Jackson, to give him the benefit of the doubt, Botman's upright, completely upright, and he thinks he's going to try and head, so I think he's trying to nudge him.
00:16:57At that point, Botman then ducks to try and get his body in, and then he hits him with his arm, and I think the intention is not to hurt him.
00:17:04I think he's gone to nudge him, and he's got it wrong, and the letter of the law says, because he's made contact with his face, he has to get sent off.
00:17:09But I think it's been unfortunate, and I'm not sure it's been...
00:17:11But as soon as you look at the man and then sort of lead with your elbow, you're in trouble, aren't you?
00:17:16I also think that yesterday, with Tyrone Mings not getting punished, that they would have had the PJMO.
00:17:22I don't know whether they've talked before games today, but you would imagine they would.
00:17:25It's probably in the back of there.
00:17:27And the VAR in that game was Darren England, who went to the screen yesterday in the full game,
00:17:31and chose not to follow the advice of the VAR.
00:17:34I think the Tyrone Mings ones, in my opinion, is worse than that one.
00:17:37Very quickly, we are all living in a Danburn world at the moment, aren't we?
00:17:41We are, and we're all enjoying it, I think.
00:17:43Do you know what?
00:17:44I mean, Danny will speak about him in a minute, because he played with him for a very short period at Fulham.
00:17:47But the journey he's been on, the stuff he's doing, I think he's playing for his hometown club,
00:17:53he's been putting in the squad, he's just having an amazing time, and he's enjoying it,
00:17:57and he's playing with so much confidence.
00:17:59You'll see he's in the box attacking things defensively, the way he celebrates this chap.
00:18:04Imagine the career he's had, how hard he's got to work to get there, to play for his hometown club,
00:18:09to do what he's doing now, and he's just making the most of every single minute.
00:18:13He speaks about how grateful he is of the opportunity he's got,
00:18:16he has maximised every ounce of his talent and ability.
00:18:18But you don't play in this way if you're not feeling so confident and just enjoying yourself.
00:18:23And you'll see even in a minute he gets the assist for the goal,
00:18:25but he actually could get played in the box for a one-two.
00:18:27And he's demanding the ball, the next clip he's absolutely going crazy to get the ball.
00:18:32He's reading the game, we spoke about it, he's getting better of age,
00:18:35because you learn to cover up your deficiencies a bit better.
00:18:39This is it, Russell, isn't it?
00:18:40I think you can tell here that he might want the ball passed to him.
00:18:43Angel of the North.
00:18:44He's desperate, he's desperate to have an impact and make things happen.
00:18:48It's just incredible, and it's contagious, the fans are really bouncing off in the players.
00:18:51Look at this, ready for a one-two, he's desperate for the ball.
00:18:55He actually doesn't celebrate this goal, because he is knackered.
00:18:57But as a person, he's fantastic, and it's great to see.
00:19:01I think he gives inspiration as well.
00:19:03Yeah, it's an amazing story.
00:19:04Because so many players down, maybe in the lower league, struggling a bit,
00:19:06see him and think, do you know what, there's always hope.
00:19:08But when he came to the Fulham, he was always willing to learn.
00:19:10Humble, great lad, good trainer.
00:19:12I mean, sometimes you feel happy to see people succeed, and he's one of them.
00:19:17Now, the results of St. James' Park meant Nottingham Forest could climb back into the top five if they could beat Leicester at the city ground.
00:19:24Stephen Wyeth, watch this one.
00:19:27Nottingham Forest have a stumble to correct in their pursuit of the Champions League.
00:19:31A run of one win in five, surrendering a previously advantageous position.
00:19:36Their only change is in force.
00:19:38With Murillo injured, there's just a second Premier League start in XI for Murato.
00:19:43Leicester would be loath to give their East Midlands rivals a Champions League assist on their way back to the Championship.
00:19:49A first win in 12 against Southampton offers encouragement, and a blueprint too, as they're unchanged.
00:19:55Jamie Vardy, one goal shy of 200 for the club, makes a 300th Premier League start.
00:20:00Glorious conditions for a late-season derby occasion between two clubs heading in opposite directions.
00:20:15Nalanga.
00:20:18And off target, but only just Chris Wood.
00:20:23Early indications are that chances will be coming.
00:20:26Here's a way to end what has been in the context of this season, a baron run in front of goal.
00:20:36Ndidi to McAteer.
00:20:43Murato into the stance.
00:20:46Luke Thomas has made the long journey from West Coast to East to take this throw.
00:20:51He's headed away as far as McAteer.
00:20:57El Canoos!
00:20:58And here's a chance for Leicester to take the lead.
00:21:03And Conor Cody has his first Premier League goal for the club.
00:21:08It has come in the derby.
00:21:12Well, the long throw proved to be very effective.
00:21:15Because Forrest couldn't deal comprehensively with it.
00:21:20But look how sprightly and alert Conor Cody was.
00:21:28And a player who has played more games for Nuna Espirito Santo than for any other manager
00:21:33might just have put a serious dent in Nottingham Forrest's Champions League ambitions.
00:21:38Those anxious Forrest fans will know that in amongst what has been an excellent season,
00:21:47their record when they concede the first goal is not good.
00:21:53Langer.
00:21:57Well, he wasn't fouled initially, but he was fouled when he tried to get back to his feet.
00:22:03Even though Luke Thomas contests the decision.
00:22:05Langer with the free kick.
00:22:15And there's the equalising goal, scored by Morgan Gibbs-White.
00:22:22A free kick routine, perfectly executed.
00:22:26Relief as much as jubilation for Nottingham Forrest.
00:22:32Langer into a really threatening area.
00:22:35And Gibbs-White made a run that was not successfully tracked.
00:22:43And he had time and space afforded to him to glance in what is her first goal in 12 games.
00:22:54Incredibly, that Gibbs-White equaliser.
00:22:56Just the third goal that Forrest have scored in six Premier League games here since the 7-0 drubbing of Brighton back in February.
00:23:04Nicolás Dominguez.
00:23:12Williams.
00:23:13Clever.
00:23:14Dominguez.
00:23:16Excellent save from Stelarsic.
00:23:19And Wood couldn't adjust quickly enough to turn the rebound on target.
00:23:23As close as Forrest have come to getting themselves in front before the break.
00:23:28One point today does lock Nottingham Forrest into the top seven.
00:23:36Learned them European football for the first time in 30 years.
00:23:39But their ambitions extend beyond that.
00:23:43Gibbs-White.
00:23:44Wood.
00:23:45Scores brilliantly to put Forrest in front.
00:23:52Chris Wood's 20th goal of the season might just prove to be a vital one.
00:23:59If Nottingham Forrest are to fulfil Champions League aspirations, they will want to be in control of their destiny.
00:24:08And Chris Wood's flying header might just have given them that.
00:24:13Morgan Gibbs-White head up immediately.
00:24:16Knew what he wanted to achieve.
00:24:18And placed the ball into an area that Wood could attack.
00:24:24Is he the man to follow in the footsteps of a giant and lead Nottingham Forrest to the top table of European football?
00:24:39It was the European Cup under Brian Clough.
00:24:42The Champions League now.
00:24:48Christensen into Vardy.
00:24:50Buonanotte bursting into the space.
00:24:53It's become the...
00:24:53Buonanotte!
00:24:57An expertly taken equaliser.
00:25:01Leicester City's turn to come from behind.
00:25:05And it's a goal that might be incredibly damaging to Nottingham Forrest and their top five hopes.
00:25:14And having manoeuvred himself into space.
00:25:18And outfox Morato.
00:25:19He had the composure to come up with the finish as well.
00:25:23Nottingham Forrest 2, Leicester City 2.
00:25:29Considering the investment of Evangelos Mourinakis.
00:25:32He was here today to hopefully see the team edge closer to his ambitions of Champions League football.
00:25:41It certainly doesn't look like that is going to be the case.
00:25:44Monge is being fouled.
00:25:53And he's grabbed hold of.
00:25:53Nel Canoos with the free kick.
00:26:03Alanga through the middle.
00:26:04Alanga through the middle.
00:26:05Pass didn't come quickly enough.
00:26:06Surely Alanga will be offside.
00:26:07He's in, bearing down on goal.
00:26:09Anthony Alanga for Awani!
00:26:11Wide anyway.
00:26:12Wide anyway.
00:26:13And then the flag goes up.
00:26:15Tywo Awani hurts.
00:26:17Tywo Awani hurts.
00:26:19The intention is to send Xhota Silva on for Anderson in midfield.
00:26:26They are going to wait.
00:26:29Anderson thought that was the moment that he was being withdrawn.
00:26:33And with a thumbs up, I think, from Taiwo Awani that he can continue to be involved.
00:26:41Xhota Silva is on for Anderson.
00:26:45Awani tentatively back into the action.
00:26:48It needs to be seen if that's permanent.
00:26:53Flips wide out to Aina.
00:26:59Xhota Silva and Yates in support.
00:27:01Ryan Yates.
00:27:03Morgan Gibbs-White.
00:27:05Charged down by Sumare.
00:27:06And now the Leicester break is on.
00:27:08Forrest have committed players forward.
00:27:10Vardy.
00:27:13Controls, bides his time.
00:27:15Jamie Vardy.
00:27:17Couldn't get the shut away, but Monga has.
00:27:20Sells with the save and the recovery to punch the ball behind.
00:27:24What a moment that would have been if a 15-year-old had won the derby for Leicester City.
00:27:31The East Midlands derby finishes all square, but it is Leicester City who are celebrating a point.
00:27:46Because Nottingham Forest have surrendered, too, in their pursuit of Champions League football.
00:27:53Evangelos Marinakis has made his way onto the pitch to make his feelings perfectly clear to Nuno Espiritu Santo.
00:28:02Full-time at the City ground, Nottingham Forest 2, Leicester City 2.
00:28:08Honestly, I think we should have won this game and it's a bad day today.
00:28:13We put a lot of energy to achieve the win and it's frustrating when we don't do it.
00:28:19You've got to take the positives.
00:28:20We brought European football back to this club, which is fantastic.
00:28:22You've got to be very proud of that.
00:28:24And you never know, the last two games, fight till the end and see where it takes us.
00:28:27The performance on itself, the way the players competed, the way they played.
00:28:31When the game started to open up for us, we came back from 2-1 behind.
00:28:36And that's credit to the players and their performance.
00:28:39I spoke a lot about the support in previous weeks, about the fact that they've been there with us all season.
00:28:44The fact that we haven't given them enough to shout about.
00:28:46But today was about them, giving them something to shout about.
00:28:48It was important we stayed in the game.
00:28:49That was the big thing.
00:28:50So the feeling in the dressing room is a nice one because we've come here and spoiled it a little bit for them.
00:28:53And that's what we wanted to do.
00:28:54I have to ask you about what happened at full-time.
00:28:56The owner storming onto the pitch.
00:28:59Can you tell us what that was about and how you feel about that sort of intervention from the owner?
00:29:06Football is emotions.
00:29:09Football we have to understand.
00:29:10Today there were more than 30,000 people here on the ground with their own emotions.
00:29:16So each one of us reacted to it.
00:29:18It was a tough, tough moment because after the situation with T, we had one man last.
00:29:23There was a misunderstanding there.
00:29:26And it's difficult, difficult to control emotions, especially when we had so many expectations on a day like this.
00:29:32Would you prefer those sorts of conversations with the chairman to happen behind closed doors rather than in the glare of the TV cameras?
00:29:39No, it was not a conversation.
00:29:43It was based on emotions.
00:29:46We cannot make a big deal out of it.
00:29:48It happens and it will happen again.
00:29:50Because football impacts so many things in our life.
00:29:54And we had so many expectations today that it's understandable.
00:29:59Each one of us sometimes loses their emotions, you know what I mean?
00:30:03He's dealt with everything there brilliantly, hasn't he?
00:30:06I think it's an impressive reaction, one to the disappointment of the result and then what's gone on after as well with the owner of the football club.
00:30:12So I don't think he can have handled it any better given a huge amount of credit to Nuno and the job he's done this season as well.
00:30:18Let's just sort of take you through bit by bit how it all played out really.
00:30:24Awani clatters into the post.
00:30:26Ironically when it would have helped them probably if the offside flag had gone up on Ilanga and then he wouldn't have clattered into the post.
00:30:33Then there's a discussion about whether he's fit to carry on with the medical team and Awani as well.
00:30:40They get a thumbs up from the medical team, presumably after a conversation with Awani himself.
00:30:45Nuno then decides to make the substitution and then their substitution window is done then.
00:30:52They've had their three windows for making the substitutions.
00:30:55And then Awani carries on but he can't really move and then Nuno says...
00:31:02Moving like you then.
00:31:05And then Nuno says why do you put the thumbs up and then Maranakis comes on for some kind of explanation.
00:31:10Which isn't, that bit isn't a great look, is it?
00:31:12It's not great but let's put it in perspective, it's in injury time anyway and they're drawing 2-2.
00:31:16So he's disappointed, it's not ideal him coming on.
00:31:19Look, they've got in Europe, they guarantee some form of European football which is a remarkable achievement.
00:31:24He's done a tremendous job, the fans have had a season way above expectations.
00:31:29Semi-finally the FA Cup.
00:31:31So I think it would be remiss to dwell on some small interaction over it.
00:31:36I would.
00:31:37Boss also, you've got all of that going on.
00:31:39You're wondering about qualifying for Europe or the Champions League.
00:31:42You're going into stoppage time.
00:31:44I mean, mistakes are going to happen.
00:31:46I think it's so, you can't pin that on one person.
00:31:49No.
00:31:50It's so, like he said, the motions are running high, he wants to make a sub,
00:31:53he might have to change it.
00:31:54The player is uncertain.
00:31:56So he gives one message to the physio and then changes mind after walking a bit longer on it.
00:32:00So maybe in hindsight they all think they should have had a little breath and taken a bit longer.
00:32:03But it's so easy to say that with hindsight.
00:32:05And I think the level of disappointment of that club today shows how far they've come this season.
00:32:10To be that disappointing to be qualified for Europe, the season they've had, and still to be that disappointing shows, you know, a huge improvement.
00:32:17They've had that.
00:32:18They've had that dip in the last 12 games.
00:32:20But, you know, keep saying it.
00:32:22They are going to have European football.
00:32:24And they're likely to have, either the Europa League or Conference League, a very good European campaign.
00:32:29Well, and also, when you think about it, a more realistic chance of winning, isn't it?
00:32:32Because they're going to improve.
00:32:33They're going to make signings.
00:32:34There's so much positivity around that football club.
00:32:37Today, actually, they made a lot of chance.
00:32:39They put some wonderful crosses in.
00:32:41Ilanga was excellent.
00:32:42Gibbs-White was good again.
00:32:43They had enough chances to win.
00:32:45They've been really strong defensively all season.
00:32:47They had no Murillo today.
00:32:49And just for the second Leicester goal for you, it just didn't quite click for them defensively.
00:32:54Yeah, I think Murillo's a top, I think he's going to be a top player.
00:32:57So he's a loss.
00:32:58But here, I think, Milenkovic, if you're going as a centre-half, you have to be so sure you can take the ball.
00:33:02Or stop and affect Vardy more than he does.
00:33:05Jamie Vardy's timing's good.
00:33:06The touch is good.
00:33:07Olejna is going to deal with Vardy.
00:33:09I think he's facing away from goal.
00:33:11Olejna's there.
00:33:12He can deal with it.
00:33:13So I think he can stay in at this point.
00:33:14Then Murato can maybe close the gap and get there early and engage now outside the box.
00:33:18But the minute he has you in the box, you have to keep him to the outside.
00:33:21The minute he lets him on the inside, it opens up the whole goal.
00:33:24And really, the goalkeeper has no chance after that point.
00:33:28So you have to engage a bit early if you can.
00:33:31Follow your centre-half partner and then try and keep him to the outside.
00:33:34And it's uncharacteristic of them to concede a goal like that.
00:33:36But missing a really key player.
00:33:38Right.
00:33:39To Anfield next for a meeting between the top two.
00:33:42Steve Wilson's your commentator.
00:33:43Of course, the keen edge has been taken off what might have been a title decider.
00:33:52But forming a guard of honour for Champions Liverpool will certainly cut Arsenal deep.
00:33:59The departing Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the bench for Liverpool.
00:34:04Conor Bradley in an 11 which shows six changes to the defeat at Chelsea.
00:34:09As Robertson, Canate, Sobosly, Gravenberg and Diaz are recalled.
00:34:14Mikel Arteta makes two changes to the Arsenal side which lost in Paris.
00:34:19Ben White and Leandro Trossard are in for Timber and Rice.
00:34:23If Arsenal win today, they will be guaranteed Champions League football next season.
00:34:29Liverpool fans might be thinking, in the words of the late Jim Bowen,
00:34:35come and have a look at what you could have won.
00:34:38It's Arsenal in their chainstrip.
00:34:40Michael Marino's down here.
00:34:53The knee of Conor Bradley was quite high.
00:34:59The skipper to take.
00:35:02And it's come through to Bukayo Saka and it's wide.
00:35:06The flag has not gone up.
00:35:09But Saka is clearly not offside.
00:35:14And that's a massive chance for Arsenal to take the lead.
00:35:20Luis Diaz into Curtis Jones.
00:35:22Looking for Salah.
00:35:23It's a lovely ball.
00:35:25It's Mohamed Salah with Luis Skelly in front of him.
00:35:27Luis Diaz, brilliant save!
00:35:33Wonderful ball by Jones into Salah.
00:35:35Had a little touch, Luis Diaz.
00:35:37Not sure he needed that extra touch.
00:35:39It's a good save.
00:35:41They have lost their last three games in all competitions.
00:35:46And only one of their last five in the league.
00:35:49Despite taking the lead in all of those five games.
00:35:53And Gatpo onside, I think.
00:35:57Salah to his left.
00:35:59Gatpo!
00:36:00And it's not going to reach Salah.
00:36:02Well, I think if he was going to try and find Mohamed Salah,
00:36:05he probably had to play it first time.
00:36:07Liverpool have a throw which they've taken quickly.
00:36:10Robertson!
00:36:11And in from Gatpo!
00:36:13Arsenal caught out by a quickly taken throw-in.
00:36:18And that is Andrew Robertson's first Premier League assist this season.
00:36:24Arsenal were guilty here of not looking at the quickly taken throw-in.
00:36:30But the Arsenal defence weren't the only ones who weren't watching.
00:36:46Oh!
00:36:47Soboslai!
00:36:48And Diaz!
00:36:492-0!
00:36:51Liverpool tearing into Arsenal twice in two minutes.
00:37:07It's brilliant, really, from Soboslai.
00:37:09I think he's being played on by Salih.
00:37:12But it just might have had the legs to cross the line without Luis Diaz.
00:37:18But he wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to tuck in
00:37:24to make it to 87 seconds between the two Liverpool goals.
00:37:33Parting.
00:37:34Odegaard, lovely, a little flick into Trossard.
00:37:37Canate and Bradley are there.
00:37:42And he's just caught the yellow cards coming out here.
00:37:51Mikel Moreno into the book.
00:37:57Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 155 Premier League games
00:38:03in which they've been in front at half-time.
00:38:07That's a great ball!
00:38:08It's a brilliant goal!
00:38:10Martinelli with a glancing header.
00:38:13It's a fabulous ball in.
00:38:15And it's 2-1.
00:38:17Well, this is really all about the quality of the ball into the penalty area
00:38:22from Leandro Trossard.
00:38:24Beautifully done.
00:38:25Martinelli ghosting in between Canate and Robertson.
00:38:34And delivering a perfect header.
00:38:36Liverpool 2, Arsenal 1.
00:38:38Well, a mixed ovation, I think you would have to say, for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
00:38:53Lovely ball.
00:38:54Alexander-Arnold tracked the run of Martinelli.
00:39:05Well, I have to say that I'm a little bit surprised by that reaction to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
00:39:24Some Liverpool fans are giving him a very hard time.
00:39:29Here's Odegaard.
00:39:30Odegaard!
00:39:31Oh, great save, but it must be in from Moreno!
00:39:37Well, it has been coming.
00:39:41They thoroughly deserve to be level, Arsenal.
00:39:47Well, Liverpool are saying that Moreno might have been offside when Odegaard hit the shot.
00:39:57It's a great strike from Odegaard.
00:40:00Alisson pushed it onto the post.
00:40:02Moreno put away the rebound.
00:40:04But there is a check here.
00:40:06The goal is going to stand.
00:40:08It's the left boot of Alexander-Arnold.
00:40:12It's been an excellent second-half display by Mikel Arteta's side.
00:40:22The introduction of Trent Alexander-Arnold has become something of a sideshow.
00:40:32Mikel Marino lost it.
00:40:35Sobber slide.
00:40:36Darwin Nunez just wide.
00:40:38Anthony Taylor's going to bring it back and give Liverpool a free kick here.
00:40:42And a red card.
00:40:44Mikel Marino had already seen yellow, and now he's off.
00:40:49He's lunged into Darwin Nunez there, and into Sobber slide.
00:40:54Well, both possibly fouls at the end of a week in which Mikel Arteta identified the number of red cards Arsenal have had this season as one of the reasons that they are trailing behind Liverpool.
00:41:15Mohamed Salah.
00:41:16Oh, he's done well, Salah.
00:41:17And it's going to come to Robertson.
00:41:18And Andrew Robertson looking for his first goal of the season, having got his first assist of the season.
00:41:34Now, it's not easy, but it's by a distance Liverpool's best chance of the second half.
00:41:41Oh, Harvey Elliott's given it to Martin Odegaard.
00:41:46Martinelli is with him.
00:41:48Zinchenko's getting forward, and Odegaard is just wide.
00:41:54Just wide.
00:41:56Presented with the opportunity to win it, and he very nearly did.
00:42:03Mohamed Salah.
00:42:07Put behind by Kieran Tierney.
00:42:09It'll be a Liverpool corner to finish the game.
00:42:14McCallister with the corner.
00:42:19Oh, brilliant shape at him!
00:42:23It's offside, I think.
00:42:27Robertson thought he'd won it.
00:42:31He's at offside against Robertson.
00:42:34It's probably for that, for Konate.
00:42:37Ibrahima Konate, I think, pushed Myles Lewis Skelly.
00:42:43Not entirely convinced that Andrew Robertson was onside either.
00:42:48But that's definitely a foul by Konate.
00:42:52I have to ask you about the reaction to Trent coming onto the pitch.
00:42:56You said you're not going to tell Liverpool fans how to react.
00:42:59Well, it was mixed, I think you would say.
00:43:02The good thing about living in Europe is that everybody has the right to have his own opinion.
00:43:06And you can express it in the way you want to.
00:43:09He accepts the reactions of every single fan.
00:43:12But he also prefers us not to be distracted by it.
00:43:17I'm very disappointed with the standards that we set.
00:43:19Some of the things that we allowed Liverpool to do.
00:43:21And run and lose the ball inside when they are just waiting for that.
00:43:25In my opinion, it's nowhere near the standards that are required.
00:43:28Afterwards, yeah, we leave the game.
00:43:30It's a great reaction. It's very typical.
00:43:33I hate reaction. I like action.
00:43:36And to show the difference, I suppose, between action and reaction.
00:43:41The first half stats why Mikel Arteta was furious.
00:43:45But the second half was much better.
00:43:47It was. They were really good.
00:43:49Second half, they were resilient.
00:43:50The first half, Liverpool were super sharp.
00:43:52And there's going to be a hangover after the disappointment of midweek.
00:43:55But second half, more intent from Arsenal.
00:43:57Matched with a, let's say, foot-off-the-gas attitude from Liverpool.
00:44:01But Lewis Skelly, what a terrific young player he is.
00:44:04Super drive. Great feet.
00:44:06This is early in the second half.
00:44:08Even that tackle there from Conor Bradley.
00:44:09A little bit half-hearted because they'd think the game's done.
00:44:12Probably should score.
00:44:13A little warning.
00:44:14A poor pass.
00:44:16And then Arsenal grow in confidence.
00:44:20Start knocking it about a bit.
00:44:22Udegaard starts getting on it.
00:44:24Again, driving into the space.
00:44:25A bit more urgency about the play.
00:44:27And then this is one for the, er...
00:44:32The books.
00:44:33Van Dijk.
00:44:34Couldn't think what I was saying.
00:44:35Clearly, yeah.
00:44:36You don't see it very often, so I'm lost for words.
00:44:38But Van Dijk tries to guess the pass towards Odegaard
00:44:42and lets Martinelli...
00:44:43Look at the space, though.
00:44:45Well, it's the tempo of Liverpool, isn't it?
00:44:47But the mistake from Van Dijk wasn't good.
00:44:49So they get back in and now they're playing free.
00:44:52There's not really any pressure or intensity from the Liverpool players,
00:44:55which is understandable.
00:44:56You know, the season's been brilliant.
00:44:59They're still leading in the game.
00:45:01They're a bit testimonial-like for Liverpool at this stage.
00:45:04But Arsenal really driving forward.
00:45:06Decent run from Ben White, who started today.
00:45:10And again, you see Liverpool giving the ball away.
00:45:13And if you keep doing that against Arsenal, they've got talented players.
00:45:17You know, they're going to cause you problems.
00:45:19Eventually, he comes out to Odegaard again.
00:45:22And he strikes a lovely ball.
00:45:25Moreno follows up brilliantly.
00:45:27What I do have to say, actually, I mean,
00:45:29we're talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
00:45:30I think Alisson will be a bit disappointed with that,
00:45:31because he got a full hand on it.
00:45:33And then could have won it late on.
00:45:35Zinchenko, great run, just come off the bench.
00:45:37I think the only reason Odegaard doesn't pass here
00:45:39is because he's had a bit of criticism, really,
00:45:41and he's been shy on goals and assists.
00:45:43Yeah.
00:45:44So...
00:45:45But, you know, great resilience, good response
00:45:47after the disappointment of the Champions League.
00:45:49I know he's furious that they played the way they did in the first half,
00:45:52but you can understand, to use the cliché,
00:45:55the European hangover, can't you, from the defeat process?
00:45:57Oh, yeah.
00:45:58We were watching the game and we spoke about it.
00:46:00Could it be three or four?
00:46:01If they're not careful, it could go.
00:46:02Yeah.
00:46:03Could be a really bad afternoon.
00:46:04So, the fact they did come out and play with so much energy,
00:46:07aggression, intensity like that,
00:46:08he said, driving forward the ball in the second half,
00:46:11I think it's a big test of mentality and character,
00:46:13and I think he will be pleased with that.
00:46:14And especially after such a big disappointment in midweek.
00:46:17So, I think it's full credit to Arsenal, really.
00:46:20There's nothing really to talk about with Liverpool,
00:46:22bar one thing, because they've won the title
00:46:24and it's all done and dusted.
00:46:26So, what are your thoughts on the reaction
00:46:28that Trent Alexander-Arnold got?
00:46:29Well, I was expecting some negative reaction
00:46:32and I get why, but I didn't expect it to the, you know,
00:46:38the enormity it was and the noise that we heard
00:46:40was more than I expected.
00:46:43I think it's sad, really.
00:46:44I think it's a shame, you know, for it to end this way
00:46:47when he's had so much success.
00:46:48But he's a big boy, he's made his decision.
00:46:50You know, when you make these decisions in football
00:46:52and you can't please everyone all the time
00:46:55and he's got to hold his head up high and carry on his career.
00:46:58But, yeah, it's a difficult one and a sad one, I think,
00:47:01because when a player gives so much and has so much success,
00:47:03ideally you want it to end in a nice way.
00:47:06But it's just not happening.
00:47:08And it is mixed, because there were some trying to applaud him.
00:47:11Yeah, and Boo's always louder than applause.
00:47:12Yeah.
00:47:13I think it saddens me as well.
00:47:14I think in time he'll be celebrating his career there.
00:47:15A homegrown player.
00:47:16Every fan wants to see someone who's living their dream,
00:47:18playing for their club, and he's done it.
00:47:19And he's done everything he can there.
00:47:20He's won everything they can.
00:47:21So I think at some point people will realise he's got the opportunity
00:47:23to go and experience something totally different,
00:47:24to do something completely different to other people,
00:47:26and get the opportunity to do that.
00:47:27And he's taken it.
00:47:28And I think fair play to him.
00:47:29It's a brave move.
00:47:30And I hope it really goes well for him,
00:47:31because he's been an incredible player for Liverpool
00:47:32and he continues to be so for his country.
00:47:34And he'll represent them in a different way abroad.
00:47:54I know what you're thinking Danny,
00:47:56when are you going to do my favourite part of Sunday night
00:47:59and show us the opt a percentage graphic for who might qualify
00:48:02for the Champions League?
00:48:04My favourite part.
00:48:05Yeah, your favourite part.
00:48:06The last three Sundays, you've wanted this every time.
00:48:08Well, Arsenal, 99%.
00:48:09I think that's a given.
00:48:10I fancy Newcastle to finish the season strong.
00:48:13Yeah, you would not to agree, so that's good.
00:48:14Yeah, and I think it's down to Villa and Chelsea for that fifth spot.
00:48:19I mean, Forrest will have a glimmer of hope,
00:48:21but Villa or Chelsea for me.
00:48:23And they both play Friday night, those two games.
00:48:25Chelsea at home to Manchester United
00:48:27and Villa at home to Tottenham.
00:48:30There's a minute of your life you won't get back.
00:48:32But West Ham were without a win in eight games
00:48:34ahead of their visit to Manchester United,
00:48:36who reached the Europa League final on Thursday.
00:48:38And Old Trafford for this one, Mark Scott.
00:48:41This really is a meeting mired in mediocrity.
00:48:46Not only are both sides on lengthy, winless runs in the league,
00:48:50Manchester United haven't beaten anyone
00:48:51other than the relegated trio since January,
00:48:55with West Ham not doing so since February.
00:48:58While the big one in Bilbao's only just over a week away,
00:49:01Ruben Amirim says he won't be giving his key men a breather.
00:49:05But there are six changes from the Europa League semi here
00:49:08with Mason Mount amongst those to come in
00:49:10after his double on Thursday.
00:49:13West Ham have Sofal, Ward-Prowse and Rodriguez
00:49:15in for the benched Paqueta, Emerson and Fulcrook.
00:49:20West Ham looking to do a first league double
00:49:23over Manchester United in almost two decades.
00:49:25decades.
00:49:29Wan-Bissaka nearly chased his own ball forwards.
00:49:30In fact, he did.
00:49:31And then he was cluttered by Agathe.
00:49:34He gives away the free kick.
00:49:35It is perhaps a bit fortunate not to find a yellow card
00:49:38heading his way as well.
00:49:40So what can Ward-Prowse conjure up from this?
00:49:44Into a pretty useful area!
00:49:47And Kilman on the end of it
00:49:49couldn't make the most of it.
00:49:51Got the header all wrong.
00:49:53Biggest chance so far
00:49:54goes to the visitors.
00:49:58Short.
00:50:01Scooped up by Amas.
00:50:02Short tries to give him the return.
00:50:04Mounts onto it instead.
00:50:05And he spotted the run of Ahmad on this near side.
00:50:10He took it beautifully.
00:50:12Stood up by Wan-Bissaka.
00:50:14Ahmad inside of him!
00:50:15And forcing the save from Areola.
00:50:18And Fernandes on the follow-up is wild.
00:50:23Delightful stuff, this from Ahmad.
00:50:25The first touch was absolutely immaculate.
00:50:28And then he did Wan-Bissaka to find the room for the hit
00:50:31which was certainly travelling.
00:50:33Areola able to beat it away.
00:50:35His side haven't won any of their last
00:50:39eight league games.
00:50:41West Ham haven't gone nine without a win
00:50:43since 2011
00:50:44when they went down.
00:50:48Cresswell in a bit of room.
00:50:54Wan-Bissaka, that's handy.
00:50:55And he's got it back from Cresswell.
00:50:59Invited forwards.
00:51:00Kudus with a clever run.
00:51:01And the hit is deflected in.
00:51:04And West Ham lead.
00:51:05Thomas Socek on hand.
00:51:08Kudus is cut back.
00:51:10And there was the check to do the rest.
00:51:13Well, that's woken everyone up.
00:51:15It had been a really dull state of affairs
00:51:18up until that West Ham opener.
00:51:20lovely combination between
00:51:24Wan-Bissaka and Cresswell on this left-hand side.
00:51:27And look at the room for Wan-Bissaka there
00:51:29to spot the run
00:51:30of Mohamed Kudus
00:51:31who blasted low and across.
00:51:33And there's always a chance
00:51:35that might lead to something.
00:51:37The final touch may have come off
00:51:39for Amas
00:51:39but
00:51:39it's definitely Socek's goal.
00:51:42United
00:51:43behind here
00:51:45once again.
00:51:48Amas.
00:51:49Bit of a false touch there
00:51:50and Bowen was on to him in a flash.
00:51:53Sofau picks up the running now
00:51:54and stands it up nicely.
00:51:56Masraoui with a vital touch.
00:51:58It's Kudus though.
00:52:00He's rolled away from Fernandes
00:52:01and Ward-Prowse!
00:52:02Straight at Bayern Deer.
00:52:07It's really good from Kudus here
00:52:08to clear Fernandes
00:52:10and find Ward-Prowse
00:52:11although he could only find
00:52:12the gloves of the United keeper.
00:52:15West Ham's win
00:52:16in the reverse fixture
00:52:17paved the way
00:52:18for Ruben Ameren
00:52:19to come in
00:52:19at Old Trafford.
00:52:22Well there's no foul there
00:52:23so West Ham are away
00:52:24and it's Kudus here.
00:52:26Bowen's up there.
00:52:27Kudus goes for it alone.
00:52:29Wan-Bissaka!
00:52:30Bowen!
00:52:312-0!
00:52:32West Ham have daylight
00:52:36at Old Trafford.
00:52:38Another miserable day
00:52:40at home
00:52:41for Manchester United
00:52:42and the Hammers
00:52:44set to end
00:52:45their long wait
00:52:47for a Premier League victory.
00:52:49Well they stopped here
00:52:51expecting the free kick
00:52:53to come.
00:52:53You've got to play
00:52:54to the whistle
00:52:55and Manchester United
00:52:56paid the price
00:52:57for not doing so.
00:52:59Kudus across to
00:53:01Wan-Bissaka
00:53:01credit to the former
00:53:03Manchester United man
00:53:04for the awareness
00:53:05and the coolness
00:53:06to pick out
00:53:07the skipper
00:53:08and there was only
00:53:09going to be
00:53:10one end result
00:53:11once it came the way
00:53:13of Jared Bowen.
00:53:14look like a foul to me
00:53:21and that will be a free kick
00:53:22short from Fernandez
00:53:29and that's ball in
00:53:31Maguire going for it
00:53:32and Garnaccio arriving
00:53:34couldn't make anything of it
00:53:36well two in red
00:53:37were in useful areas there
00:53:38Maguire missed it
00:53:40and then Garnaccio
00:53:41with his touch
00:53:42missed the target
00:53:43Soler has just come on
00:53:46and has missed his kick
00:53:47Manu's missed the target
00:53:49with his pass
00:53:50now here's Ahmad
00:53:53running at Kilman
00:53:57Hoyland's up there
00:53:58Rasmus Hoyland
00:53:59good save
00:53:59Areola
00:54:00hasn't had a great deal
00:54:02to do this afternoon
00:54:03Alphonse Areola
00:54:04first time
00:54:06hit from Hoyland
00:54:06wasn't bad
00:54:07and Areola
00:54:08right in the way
00:54:10Lindelof's ping
00:54:12forwards for Hoyland
00:54:13Kilman just the wrong
00:54:19side of the law there
00:54:20he and Hoyland engaging
00:54:22in some ballroom dancing
00:54:24before the whistle
00:54:24eventually came
00:54:25just over ten to play
00:54:29as Fernandez gets set
00:54:31to take this
00:54:32Fernandez
00:54:33oh and in from Hoyland
00:54:36no
00:54:36Lindelof
00:54:37denied to
00:54:39how on earth
00:54:40did Areola keep that out
00:54:41tremendous keeping
00:54:47although you would say
00:54:48that your centre forward
00:54:49has to be sticking
00:54:50that kind of chance away
00:54:52and not giving the keeper
00:54:54any kind of opportunity
00:54:55to make a block
00:54:57no matter how brilliant
00:54:58it is
00:54:59it's not a great pass
00:55:04by Eriksen
00:55:04give it away to Ward
00:55:05Prowse
00:55:06and that should have been
00:55:08three really
00:55:08Bayern here
00:55:09prevents further
00:55:10embarrassment
00:55:11that's more dozy play
00:55:14at the back
00:55:14from Manchester United
00:55:16Lindelof the guilty party
00:55:17this time around
00:55:18bailed out by Bayern
00:55:20after eight
00:55:25without a win
00:55:26West Ham are finally
00:55:28victorious again
00:55:29while yet again
00:55:31Manchester United
00:55:33lose at home
00:55:34that's nine defeats here
00:55:36a club record amount
00:55:39in a single league campaign
00:55:41well sometimes we talk
00:55:44about performances a lot
00:55:44as coaches
00:55:45but results are nice
00:55:46I thought the players
00:55:47executed things really well
00:55:48good intelligence
00:55:49dug in when they had to
00:55:51showed all the
00:55:52all the things you need to do
00:55:53to win a game of football
00:55:54especially at Old Trafford
00:55:56I want to be in the right place
00:55:57in the right moment
00:55:59I'm so happy
00:56:00because three days ago
00:56:02my wife gets born
00:56:04of our son
00:56:06I could score the goal
00:56:07for him
00:56:08and we can be
00:56:09like a happy family
00:56:10their attitude
00:56:11and their commitment
00:56:12to what we're trying to do
00:56:13has been first class
00:56:13when the players
00:56:14have the mindset
00:56:16that they have
00:56:16and the attitude
00:56:17that they have
00:56:17it's a joy to work with
00:56:18great day for everybody
00:56:19connecting with West Ham
00:56:20because I don't think
00:56:21it's every year
00:56:22that we win here
00:56:23there's a lack of urgency
00:56:25we need to be more aggressive
00:56:26we are not scared
00:56:28of going out
00:56:28losing a game
00:56:29as Manchester United
00:56:30we don't have that fear anymore
00:56:32and that is the most dangerous feeling
00:56:34that a big club can have
00:56:36it's a decisive moment
00:56:38in the history of the club
00:56:39and we need to address that
00:56:41because it goes beyond
00:56:42just the result doesn't it
00:56:43if it's the mindset
00:56:44that you're not as bothered
00:56:46as you should be
00:56:46that's a real worry
00:56:47yeah I think it's a concern
00:56:49and again I'm talking
00:56:50it's not the player's fault
00:56:51it's my fault
00:56:52I'm responsible
00:56:53and if we cannot change that
00:56:55really fast
00:56:56we should give our place
00:56:58to a different person
00:57:00and just finally speaking
00:57:00about the fans
00:57:01they'll have their focus
00:57:02on the final
00:57:03in Bilbao
00:57:04that's paramount
00:57:05in their minds
00:57:06but for you
00:57:07can you write off
00:57:08the remaining league games
00:57:09or if you play like that
00:57:10in them
00:57:10is that going to affect
00:57:10the final against Tottenham
00:57:12the final
00:57:12I think everybody's
00:57:14focused on the final
00:57:14the final is not the biggest
00:57:15thing in our club
00:57:16we need to change
00:57:17a lot of things
00:57:18if we don't change
00:57:19the way we play
00:57:20and perform
00:57:21and feel
00:57:21the disurgency
00:57:23of winning every game
00:57:24we should not play
00:57:25Champions League
00:57:25we should stay just
00:57:27with Premier League
00:57:28and to learn
00:57:29how to be competitive
00:57:30one week at a time
00:57:32so again
00:57:33the biggest focus
00:57:35on our club
00:57:35is to change
00:57:36a lot of things
00:57:37it's not the final
00:57:38come on to that
00:57:39in a moment
00:57:40let's deal with
00:57:40West Ham first
00:57:41Graham Potter needed that
00:57:43the club needed that
00:57:44and it worked well
00:57:45for them didn't it
00:57:46with Kudos and Bowen
00:57:47as a two
00:57:48yeah I think everyone
00:57:49would talk about
00:57:49how poor
00:57:50Manchester United were
00:57:51but actually
00:57:51I thought Graham
00:57:53and his team
00:57:53executed the plan
00:57:54so well today
00:57:55tactically
00:57:56they played
00:57:56so they matched
00:57:58the shape
00:57:59back three
00:58:00but they played
00:58:01Bowen and Kudos
00:58:01as two wide strikers
00:58:03in and out of possession
00:58:05it worked brilliantly
00:58:05in possession
00:58:06just willing to run
00:58:07in behind all the time
00:58:08stretch the wide
00:58:09centre halves
00:58:10of Manchester United
00:58:10when they got close
00:58:11to the goal
00:58:11they played closer
00:58:12together like this
00:58:13always a threat
00:58:14inside the box
00:58:15and they just
00:58:16caused them all sorts
00:58:17of problems
00:58:17especially out of
00:58:18possession
00:58:18their position
00:58:19you know
00:58:20Kudos here again
00:58:20the power of him
00:58:21running inside
00:58:22Bowen trying to
00:58:23make up the distance
00:58:24to get in
00:58:25and attack the goal
00:58:26with his mate
00:58:26and they're just
00:58:28a real threat
00:58:28first and foremost
00:58:30they're two really
00:58:30excellent individuals
00:58:31but they work great
00:58:32for the team
00:58:32out of possession
00:58:33to press
00:58:33to get the players
00:58:35the West Ham players
00:58:36close to them
00:58:36give them time to come
00:58:37Suchek jumped in
00:58:39and on the press
00:58:39with them brilliantly well
00:58:40but their position
00:58:41out of possession
00:58:42when it was a mid block
00:58:43and they were defending deep
00:58:44to sort of wait
00:58:45on the outside
00:58:46of the wide centre
00:58:46after Manchester United
00:58:47they were such a threat
00:58:48in transition
00:58:49and they got their
00:58:51rewards for it today
00:58:51Wan-Bissaka
00:58:52I thought had an
00:58:53outstanding game as well
00:58:54he was
00:58:54you know
00:58:55so much energy
00:58:56athletics in that
00:58:57side of the pitch
00:58:57but here they were again
00:58:58in that position
00:58:59where they could
00:59:00they didn't have to
00:59:00drop too deep
00:59:01Graham left him a bit higher
00:59:02he should probably
00:59:03pass the bow in the first one
00:59:04but they're both in the box
00:59:05close together
00:59:06as they get close to the goal
00:59:07and they deserved it
00:59:08honestly
00:59:08it was a really
00:59:09really good performance
00:59:10from West Ham
00:59:11and they grew in confidence
00:59:12as the game went on
00:59:12and these two
00:59:13absolutely drove it
00:59:14so urgency
00:59:16kind of not bothered
00:59:19about losing
00:59:20I mean
00:59:22it's a shambles
00:59:23isn't it
00:59:23I get a little bit
00:59:26confused with
00:59:27some of Ammarin's interviews
00:59:28and the amount of negativity
00:59:29I'm hearing coming from him
00:59:31now I give him
00:59:32benefited out sometimes
00:59:33because maybe
00:59:33certain phrases
00:59:35and the way you say things
00:59:36and string sentences together
00:59:37when you're just
00:59:38new to the country
00:59:39and not new to the language
00:59:40but talking more
00:59:42of that language
00:59:42but I'm not a big fan
00:59:45of a manager
00:59:47continually
00:59:47and consistently
00:59:48talking negatively
00:59:49about how bad things are
00:59:52and how bad it is
00:59:53and we're the worst team
00:59:54United team
00:59:55in the Premier League
00:59:57etc etc
00:59:58I'd like to hear a bit more
01:00:00solution based answers
01:00:01and a bit more positivity
01:00:02and moving forward
01:00:03and thinking forward
01:00:04but
01:00:04to balance that out
01:00:05is it
01:00:05I mean you look at that
01:00:07it's a bit difficult
01:00:08to be positive isn't it
01:00:09well I'm not talking
01:00:10unrealistically but
01:00:11just something
01:00:12well just you know
01:00:14they have got a final
01:00:14to look forward to
01:00:15there could be Champions League
01:00:16he's got a
01:00:17he's hopefully
01:00:17got a summer of
01:00:18a lot of activity
01:00:20in the window
01:00:20to bring in some
01:00:21of his own players
01:00:22and start
01:00:23moulding his own
01:00:24team if you like
01:00:25because
01:00:25they've only had one signing
01:00:27since he's been there
01:00:28so he's not faced
01:00:29a lot of criticism
01:00:30I don't think
01:00:30considering how bad
01:00:31they've been
01:00:32so yeah just
01:00:33I always felt
01:00:34that the leader
01:00:36of the clubs
01:00:36I was at
01:00:37and the managers there
01:00:37if they're putting
01:00:38on a nice positive front
01:00:40and trying to be
01:00:40forthright
01:00:42looking forward
01:00:42then it helped the players
01:00:43rather than constant negativity
01:00:45right Tottenham also
01:00:47in the Europa League final
01:00:48of course
01:00:48today they face
01:00:49next weekend's
01:00:50FA Cup finalist
01:00:51Crystal Palace
01:00:51Tom Gale your commentator
01:00:53despite Cup success
01:00:56neither team
01:00:57has won a league match
01:00:58since early April
01:00:59Ange Poskakoglu
01:01:00makes eight Tottenham changes
01:01:02with the only surprise
01:01:03being keeper
01:01:04Antonin Kinski
01:01:05getting the nod
01:01:06substitute
01:01:07Youngmin Son
01:01:08is available
01:01:08for the first time
01:01:09in five weeks
01:01:10it's almost 27 years
01:01:13since Palace's
01:01:14last league victory
01:01:15away at Spurs
01:01:16Oliver Glasner
01:01:17doesn't want to risk
01:01:18Adam Wharton
01:01:19Jefferson Lerma
01:01:20and Will Hughes
01:01:20come in
01:01:21Jean-Philippe Mateta's goal
01:01:23separated these two sides
01:01:24during October's meeting
01:01:26at Selhurst Park
01:01:27here's hoping
01:01:30it's more than just
01:01:31a glorified kick about
01:01:32Mateta
01:01:34Davies asking for help
01:01:36the Frenchman's able to turn
01:01:37Eze
01:01:39room for Munoz
01:01:41can he get the shot off
01:01:43it's a simple tap in
01:01:44like a knife
01:01:48through butter
01:01:50Crystal Palace
01:01:52having early leads
01:01:53and it's Ishmael Asar
01:01:55who could not miss
01:01:56Mateta
01:01:59is able to roll
01:02:00Davies
01:02:01as we know
01:02:03he can pick a pass
01:02:04great running
01:02:05off the ball
01:02:06from the fullback
01:02:07on a plate
01:02:09it does
01:02:11appear as though
01:02:12the visitors joy
01:02:14is going to be
01:02:14short-lived
01:02:16Jean-Philippe Mateta
01:02:18judged to have been
01:02:20in an offside position
01:02:22when receiving the ball
01:02:24cute ball there
01:02:31from Hughes
01:02:32Mateta
01:02:34Munoz
01:02:38deep cross
01:02:40Porro takes a touch
01:02:42caught in two minds
01:02:45there as to whether or not
01:02:46he could bring it down
01:02:47or needed to
01:02:48concede the corner
01:02:50straight away
01:02:51Eze
01:02:53deep corner
01:02:56not cleared
01:02:59Mateta
01:02:59excellent save
01:03:02from Kinski
01:03:03well the defenders
01:03:05don't deal with the corner
01:03:06Palace keep it alive
01:03:08Kinski steps across
01:03:11to really narrow down
01:03:12the angle
01:03:13James Madison
01:03:15the latest
01:03:16Tottenham Hotspur player
01:03:17to be ruled out
01:03:18for the remainder
01:03:19of the season
01:03:20doubts
01:03:20whether or not
01:03:21he'll make it back
01:03:22in time for pre-season
01:03:23Mateta
01:03:27good strength
01:03:28as keeping pace
01:03:31Munoz to the right
01:03:32Munoz
01:03:34goes for goal
01:03:35and rattles
01:03:37the crossbar
01:03:38Munoz
01:03:40one touch
01:03:40and then gets
01:03:42a strike away
01:03:42Kinski's beaten
01:03:44a Palace win
01:03:46would see
01:03:47Oliver Glasner's side
01:03:48equal the club's
01:03:49Premier League
01:03:50record points
01:03:50tally of 49
01:03:52Eze
01:03:54shrugs off
01:03:56Danso
01:03:56Ismail Assar
01:03:58Mateta was perhaps
01:04:01off balance
01:04:02Spears give the ball
01:04:03back
01:04:04Munoz
01:04:05Mateta
01:04:07why did he not
01:04:08shoot
01:04:09and the assistance
01:04:10flag is raised
01:04:11for offside
01:04:12Tottenham's defence
01:04:14once again
01:04:15living a charmed
01:04:16life here
01:04:17Daniel Munoz
01:04:19he never looks up
01:04:20he's always looking
01:04:21at Mateta
01:04:22somehow
01:04:24Oliver Glasner
01:04:25it's still 0-0
01:04:26Hughes
01:04:31Mateta
01:04:32Ismail Assar
01:04:34angles against him
01:04:36Davies got back
01:04:38Spears not helping
01:04:40their cause here
01:04:40caught in possession
01:04:42every time
01:04:44Crystal Palace
01:04:45come forwards
01:04:46they look like
01:04:47they're gonna
01:04:48score
01:04:49you get the sense
01:04:51as though Tottenham
01:04:52are hanging on
01:04:53it's more a case of
01:04:54when
01:04:54not if
01:04:55Crystal Palace
01:04:56open up the scoring
01:04:58Ismail Assar
01:05:00goes around the corner
01:05:01Munoz
01:05:02he's in behind
01:05:03Benson Kerr
01:05:04he's away
01:05:05can he finish
01:05:06Ezer with the
01:05:08tap in
01:05:08well we
01:05:11questioned the
01:05:12decision making
01:05:13of Daniel Munoz
01:05:15before
01:05:15he got it
01:05:17just right
01:05:17this time
01:05:18there is a
01:05:21potential
01:05:22offside
01:05:23Avera
01:05:24Ezer

01:05:27consecutive
01:05:28Premier League

01:05:29excellent
01:05:30build-up
01:05:31powerful

01:05:33Munoz
01:05:34does the
01:05:34hard work
01:05:35creates
01:05:36the space
01:05:36for Ezer
01:05:37he's

01:05:40the goal
01:05:41does stand
01:05:42Avera
01:05:43Ezer
01:05:44gives
01:05:45Crystal Palace
01:05:46a deserved
01:05:47lead
01:05:48can't say
01:05:50this hasn't
01:05:50been coming
01:05:51there's only
01:05:52been one side
01:05:53that's looked
01:05:53like scoring
01:05:54here so far
01:05:55so far
01:05:57this season
01:05:57Ange
01:05:58Postacoglu

01:14:37came in
01:14:39unnoticed
01:14:40and powered
01:14:42that header
01:14:42home
01:14:43Beto
01:14:47Alcaraz
01:14:51suddenly
01:14:52three on three
01:14:53here for Everton
01:14:54here goes
01:14:55Beto
01:14:55oh
01:14:58Bernd Leno
01:14:58with a moment
01:15:00he won't want to
01:15:01see again
01:15:02and how big a
01:15:03moment could that
01:15:04be
01:15:04in Fulham's
01:15:06potential European
01:15:07charge
01:15:08here's Jeremy
01:15:16Doku
01:15:17great ball in
01:15:18right across the
01:15:20face of goal
01:15:20and behind
01:15:21Jack Stephens
01:15:22right place at the
01:15:23right time
01:15:24Bernardo Silva
01:15:26denied
01:15:27it's the closest
01:15:28Manchester City
01:15:29have come
01:15:30to taking the
01:15:31lead
01:15:31doesn't quite
01:15:36fall for
01:15:37Savino
01:15:37good play
01:15:38by Fernandez
01:15:39he has
01:15:39conceded it
01:15:40though
01:15:40Marmouche
01:15:41the crossbar
01:15:43continues to
01:15:44rattle
01:15:44Doku
01:15:46good interception
01:15:47James Bree
01:15:48Manchester City
01:15:49so close
01:15:50in added time
01:15:51Omar Marmouche
01:15:53with a thunderous
01:15:54shot
01:15:54smacking
01:15:55the crossbar
01:15:56it's a result
01:15:58that nobody
01:15:58saw coming
01:15:59Southampton
01:16:01avoid the
01:16:02all time
01:16:03low points
01:16:04record
01:16:05but Manchester
01:16:06City dropped
01:16:07two big points
01:16:08in the race
01:16:09for Champions
01:16:09League football
01:16:10so just before
01:16:13we go
01:16:13we can talk
01:16:14about you
01:16:14are you ready
01:16:15to get back
01:16:16in
01:16:16yeah
01:16:16I'm feeling
01:16:18it's been a good
01:16:18time to reflect
01:16:19a good break
01:16:20after 20 years
01:16:21or so of playing
01:16:22and then straight
01:16:23into management
01:16:23so it's been
01:16:24a nice time
01:16:25to enjoy
01:16:25and also
01:16:26just to
01:16:27yeah
01:16:27I think
01:16:28wherever I go
01:16:29in next
01:16:29whenever I go
01:16:30in next
01:16:30I'll be
01:16:31much better
01:16:32for it
01:16:32is it a big
01:16:34decision
01:16:35where to go
01:16:36next
01:16:37I mean
01:16:37you will have
01:16:38offers
01:16:38but do you
01:16:39feel like
01:16:39this one
01:16:40you need
01:16:41to get right
01:16:41yeah I think
01:16:42so I think
01:16:42it's really
01:16:42important
01:16:43I think
01:16:43we've turned
01:16:45a few
01:16:45opportunities
01:16:45down
01:16:46because it
01:16:46just didn't
01:16:46feel quite
01:16:47right
01:16:47and it's
01:16:48about the
01:16:48opportunity
01:16:50it gives
01:16:50us
01:16:51how we feel
01:16:52about it
01:16:52the people
01:16:52you're working
01:16:53for
01:16:53all of it
01:16:53comes into
01:16:54account
01:16:54and also
01:16:55the cultural
01:16:56context
01:16:57the style
01:16:57of play
01:16:58will fit
01:16:58how the work
01:16:59that we do
01:17:00would fit
01:17:00with the club
01:17:01so do you
01:17:01think you
01:17:02would already
01:17:02need to see
01:17:03how a team
01:17:05is playing
01:17:05already
01:17:06to know
01:17:07that they
01:17:07will be
01:17:07receptive
01:17:08to your
01:17:08methods
01:17:09not necessarily
01:17:10not necessarily
01:17:10out of
01:17:10playing now
01:17:11but maybe
01:17:12what the
01:17:13fans have
01:17:13been used
01:17:14to
01:17:14maybe
01:17:14what's
01:17:14brought
01:17:15them
01:17:15success
01:17:15previously
01:17:16definitely
01:17:17how convinced
01:17:18the ownership
01:17:20are and the
01:17:20people in
01:17:21charge are
01:17:21with how we
01:17:22do things
01:17:23and the
01:17:23methodology
01:17:23whatever you
01:17:24want to
01:17:24call it
01:17:24so there's
01:17:25a lot to
01:17:26sort of take
01:17:26into account
01:17:27but I'm
01:17:27really excited
01:17:27about whatever
01:17:28comes next
01:17:28and I'm
01:17:29enthused
01:17:30and energised
01:17:30and definitely
01:17:31ready to get
01:17:32going again
01:17:32good
01:17:33well thank you
01:17:34for being with us

01:17:40two points ahead
01:17:41in the race
01:17:41for the Champions
01:17:42League after
01:17:43taking a point
01:17:43at Anfield
01:17:44Newcastle's win
01:17:45over Chelsea
01:17:46moves them
01:17:46above Manchester
01:17:47City into third
01:17:48Forest stays
01:17:49seventh
01:17:50Crystal Palace
01:17:51stay 12th
01:17:52despite their
01:17:53win at Tottenham
01:17:54while West Ham's
01:17:55win at Manchester
01:17:55United sees the
01:17:56move above both
01:17:58Europa League
01:17:58finalists into
01:17:5915th
01:18:00Leicester already
