03:56You're watching Extreme Champion Chip Wrestling.
03:59And we are recapping the first pay-per-view of 1999 ECW Guilty as Charged from this past Sunday night,
04:08the Millennium Theater in Kissimmee, Florida.
04:10As we just heard from Bill Alfonso and Rob Van Dam, he is still the world television champion.
04:15But just barely.
04:17It was an impromptu matchup between he and challenger Landstorm because Jerry Lynn's cracked pelvis had not healed.
04:25I understand we have put together a package showing you the highlights of what was one of the most phenomenal athletic contests we have ever seen.
04:32Landstorm challenging Rob Van Dam.
04:37Tammy Lynn Bitch, that's B-Y-T-C-H, led Landstorm to the ring.
04:43Storm's scheduled opponent, Jerry Lynn, had not yet fully recovered from the fractured pelvis he suffered at Storm's hand.
04:51So Storm issued a challenge.
04:54A challenge answered by Rob Van Dam.
04:58It would be for the ECW World Television Championship, the whole effing show.
05:06Rob Van Dam versus the man to beat, Lance Storm.
05:10Storm showed no respect for RVD and took the fight to Van Dam like no one ever has before.
05:20Time and time again, Storm outmaneuvered Van Dam in the air, even battling Van Dam at his own game outside the ring.
05:31Storm was a machine and wrestled flawlessly until Van Dam exploded with offensive maneuvers.
05:43Now it was time for Rob Van Dam to take the fight to Lance Storm and he finally set him up for the Van Daminator.
05:52But Storm pulled ref John Finnegan in the way and Finnegan took the brunt of the blow.
06:00But Landstorm had worked against his own cause as he had Van Dam pinned, but Finnegan could not make the count.
06:10Van Dam came back with a five-star frog splash, but still couldn't put Storm away.
06:17He followed up with a Van Daminator, but that worked against his own cause as Lance Storm was knocked out of the ring.
06:27As Tammy Lynn bitch panicked, Rob Van Dam rolled a limp Storm back into the squared circle.
06:35But the rest period on the outside helped Storm enough that he kicked out at two and a half.
06:42Storm, showing remarkable resiliency, came back with several near falls until RVD hit a German suplex with a bridge for the pin.
06:56On this night, the gods were on Rob Van Dam's side, the winner of the match and still ECW World Television Champion,

14:46What historic matchup.
14:48It gave me goosebumps.
14:49It's a match I will never forget.
14:51Like the Thrilla in Manila, I don't know if Taz or Shane Douglas will ever be the same again.
14:58What I do know is that the course of ECW history was changed forever when the human suplex machine Taz challenged the franchise for the World Heavyweight title.
15:10The head cheerleader Francine could not hide her emotions.
15:17She could not hide the fact that she was upset with Shane over the developments that led to this battle.
15:25But the franchise was furious with Taz and this fight was as much a grudge match for Shane as it was for Taz.
15:35The ECW World Heavyweight Championship was on the line.
15:41The man who created the belt, the franchise Shane Douglas, after the worst year of his life, was determined to hold on to the gold against the healthy suplex machine from the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, New York.
16:00The two grapplers displayed their wrestling skills until the franchise lost his temper and took the war to the outside.
16:12And what a war it was.
16:15The Millennium Theater in Kissimmee, Florida, right outside of Orlando, former home to the American Gladiators, never saw a fight like this.
16:28And quite frankly, we never saw a fight like this as these two warriors did battle for the heavyweight championship of the world.
16:41The match ended up back in the ring where Shane used a table as a weapon, but Taz kicked out.
16:50A second table was brought into the ring, and Taz suplexed the champion through it.
16:57But Shane kicked out as well, and the lights went out.
17:03It marked the entrance of the suicidal, homicidal, genocidal, death-defying athlete known as Sabu.
17:13Sabu went after both men, Taz, who broke Sabu's neck, and Shane, who ordered the hit.
17:21Sabu was an out-of-control madman and pummeled both athletes.
17:27Sabu was going to lay both Shane and Taz out.
17:32He made a point.
17:34No one escaped the wrath of Sabu.
17:39Shane called for the triple threat.
17:42Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sitch returned to ECW through the crowd,
17:49but there was obvious tension between Tammy and Francine.
17:54The two got in a fight as their men tried to separate them.
17:59As the referee was distracted and security got involved,
18:03Candido told Shane they should gang up on Taz.
18:07But Candido nailed Shane with a right cross
18:10and threw his triple threat shirt in the franchise's face.
18:14After all he had been through, after all the injuries in the past year,
18:19all the distractions, all the desertions, everyone's envy, everyone's jealousy,
18:26Shane Douglas could take no more.
18:29He was visibly heartbroken by this latest turn of events.
18:33As Shane grew weaker, Taz grew stronger.
18:37The human suplex machine applied the katahajime,
18:42but the franchise broke the hold with a low blow.
18:46Taz, not to be stopped, reapplied the katahajime,
18:51but Shane would not tap.
18:53He would not give up the gold.
18:55He would not fork over the heavyweight championship of the world.
19:00And as every last breath of his body was being squeezed out of him,
19:05Shane Douglas passed out, never giving up, never handing over the belt.
19:11Shane Douglas, despite the horrible feeling of oxygen deprivation,
19:17would rather be choked into unconsciousness than give up the heavyweight championship of the world.
