Galerie Max Hetzler presents a solo exhibition of Thomas Struth’s work at Potsdamer Strasse 77-87, Berlin, showcasing four decades of his photography. Struth’s oeuvre explores the relationship between people and their environments, blending documentation and contemplation. His works capture cultural spaces, natural landscapes, portraits, and industrial innovation. Highlights include Hinakapoʻula, Hawaiʻi 2024, depicting dense Hawaiian forests, and Semi Submersible Rig, DSME Shipyard, Geoje Island 2007, portraying a massive industrial structure. Early 1980s portraits, rarely seen, focus on individual presence, while Struth’s Family Portraits delve into familial dynamics. His Museum Photographs, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Diptych), New York 2023, capture visitors engaging with historic artworks, layering time and culture as smartphones illuminate the scene. New Pictures from Paradise (early 2000s) reflect nature’s fragility, presenting dense, inaccessible landscapes. The Nature & Politics series, including High Harmonic Generation Spectrometer, Weizmann Institute, Rehovot 2009, portrays the complexity of advanced technology. Struth, based in Berlin, has exhibited globally, with retrospectives at institutions like the Guggenheim Bilbao (2019) and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (2014). His works are held in major collections worldwide.

The exhibition Thomas Struth at Max Hetzler Gallery Potsdamer Straße 77-87 runs until 21 June 2025.
