They allege it misled investors by failing to disclose business impacts following the December 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. UnitedHealth reaffirmed its 2025 earnings forecast of $29.50 to $30 in January, despite increasing public and regulatory pressure. The company cut its 2025 profit forecast on April 17th, triggering a 22.4% stock drop and erasing about $119 billion in market value. A UnitedHealthcare spokesperson said the company denies all allegations and plans to defend itself vigorously.
