00:06disappointed with the closure of investigation into the acid attack against him. Faisal's lawyers

00:11at Messrs Mohammed Ashraf, Nick Zarath and co. said the attorney general's chambers had

00:16officially classified the case as no further action. They said throughout the investigation,

00:22they had taken proactive steps to ensure the case received the attention it deserved.

00:27They said they had cooperated with the police and written to key institutions,

00:32including the Dewan Rakyat Speaker, the Home Ministry, and the AGC, urging that the case be

00:39treated with priority. They said their client was understandably disappointed with the outcome.

00:45The decision by the AGC was reportedly made after police investigation failed to identify any suspect,

00:52despite what was described as exhaustive effort. Faisal suffered serious injuries

00:57after an assailant splashed acid on him outside a shopping mall in May last year,

01:01and he had to undergo several surgeries on his road to recovery. The incident sparked

01:07nationwide outrage, with calls for justice and heightened security for public figures.
