00:00The inhuman and barbaric murder of 26 innocent civilians in Pahalgam.
00:09It was expected that India would use its right to respond in an appropriate and proportional way.
00:20I think the Government of India, the Indian Defence Forces have gone out of their way
00:25to ensure that no military and civilian targets were hit in Pakistan.
00:32They have only hit terror bases and launch pads.
00:38Unfortunately, the response has been anything but proportionate.
00:43Pakistan, as reports are coming in, has gone out of its way to target civilian populations.
00:50So I've just had a video conference with all the district collectors along the border and the line of control.
00:58I've taken stock of the situation and we're dealing with the situation as it develops.
01:03There are some reports of casualties, unfortunately, in Punch.
01:08There are some reports of injuries.
01:10I won't get into specifics.
01:11But as I said, I've spoken to – in spite of the ongoing shelling in Punch,
01:17DC Punch was able to come on to the video conference.
01:20I was able to take an assessment from him, take stock of the position in the hospital,
01:26particularly with regard to blood supplies and other essentials.
01:30We are moving more ambulances to the forward areas.
01:34At the moment, we can't do much more because shelling is ongoing.
01:39But we are keeping totally sort of abreast of the situation.
01:44And as it develops, our response will also be tailored accordingly.
01:48In the meantime, I've asked the finance department to release a contingency fund
01:53to all the DCs of Jamun Kashmir, but with an additional amount to the DCs along the border and the line of control
02:02for any exigency that will arise in the current situation.
02:06I'm not a beater of war drums.
02:10I don't want a war.
02:12Nobody wants war.
02:14I don't think there's anybody sitting in the government of India who wants this situation to escalate into a war.
02:20Please remember, we did not provoke this.
02:23We have responded to a provocation.
02:25Now it is for Pakistan to realize that our response was limited to what happened to us in Pahlgam.
02:33They must be careful not to escalate things beyond control.
02:37The only thing I'd like to tell people is that there is no cause for panic.
02:41Yes, there is some amount of tension and difficult situation, but not across the entire LOC.
02:47It's in pockets.
02:50The border is largely peaceful.
02:52There are pockets of the LOC both on Kashmir side and Jammu side where we are seeing some response,
02:58but we are monitoring the situation, and to the best extent possible, we will deal appropriately.
03:04We have access to all the information and resources.
03:05However, prevent this from each who was trying to prevent their dearly and rather lay by up to the which we will deliver ourselves to you as auer.
03:06It doesn't have znaczyed what we can do with that.
03:07It almost does really lead to our
