00:00Is it good to be in Newquay for the South West Gala of the Salt Path?
00:05It's amazing. We filmed in Newquay. We had a fabulous experience about it.
00:09Newquay in particular, I remember being on Vistol Beach, was quite an experience.
00:15And to have this as the very first public screening of the film in the UK,
00:20it could be easier to be here in Newquay in Newquay, it's amazing.
00:24I mean, that's exactly what we wanted.
00:26And are you pleased with how the film's turned out?
00:29Yeah, really, really pleased.
00:31And to the audiences who have seen it and had previous readings.
00:36And this is in Netherlands, where it opened this weekend
00:38and it's broken all box office records for a little bit of a film,
00:42which has just gone through the roof.
00:44People love it. They absolutely love it.
00:46And I heard that two of you from in Netherlands who've seen the film,
00:50who are in England, who have come to block the Salt Path,
00:53and have sent me messages, far and wide, to say how extraordinary the Salt Path is.
00:58So I hope people get their hiking boots on and discover the absolute life of the Hudson County that it brings.
01:07And do you think it could be a big hit, the film?
01:11I hope so. That's up to the viewers.
01:14I mean, we've done all our work, and I really hope people take it to their hearts.
01:18I mean, for me, it's an incredibly moving experience, very life-envolving,
01:22and I think Marianne and her team have captured something very, very special.
01:27And why did you choose to do the film?
01:30The director, Marianne Elliott, bought me the book.
01:33She's a theatre director whose work just blows me away every time,
01:36and someone I've wanted to work with for a long time.
01:38And then when I read Rayna's book, which speaks for itself,
01:42I just thought, yes, we have to make this.
