00:00I do sometimes get writer's block and it's um it's something that is a terrifying concept to

00:15me but thankfully it never lasts more than a few weeks the only time that it lasts more than that

00:20and I let it last a little while is after I've just finished a record because in order for me

00:24to finish a record I have to have written for two years straight and like the only way I'll

00:28stop writing is if I just literally cannot write anymore and that's how I know that an album is

00:34done and after something like that you do you typically don't write a song for a good two or

00:39three months because you're just like you're just like wrung out which is fine you just kind of wait

00:45for it to come back when it does there are things that I like to bring with me in hotels to make it

00:54seem more like home because I'm in hotels so much I really like candles that smell like Christmas

00:59trees so maybe that's because I grew up on a Christmas tree farm but there's this one that

01:03I like from West Elm that's this like balsam fur Christmas tree smelling candle and I love it

01:10so I like to have different candles and in my hotel rooms and I also bring my like I bring

01:16my phone so I can call my friends and like DVDs of like either Law and Order or CSI because for

01:23some reason crime shows make me feel like home

01:25I don't usually sing in the shower I usually I don't know why I sing in my head kind of all day

01:38like thinking of different ideas and coming up with melodies I kind of think in terms of like

01:43things that rhyme with each other but I don't necessarily sing in the shower that's weird I

01:48know I should my favorite holiday tradition isn't a typical tradition that people usually have but

01:58for Christmas I like I have a 20 year old brother so I like to see the absurd ways that he wraps

02:07presents like it's bad it's worse and worse every year it's like garbage bags with duct tape in

02:14cardboard boxes with like you know like a rope tied around it it's just like the most hilarious

02:21thing to me because he's just he's just uh he wraps presents his own special way
