00:07And most of this he's talking about has to do with the border and immigration.
00:13You know, Democrats obviously want to say we need to give everybody a court case.
00:18Can't do that.
00:19We'd be doing it all the way until the year 3000.
00:22But shouldn't everybody have due process in this country?
00:25Well, they should have, but if you're a citizen.
00:28If you're an illegal, you're given a short period of time and gone.
00:31We've got to get people back.
00:33We can't afford it.
00:36If you're an illegal, you're given a short period of time and gone.
00:39We've got to get people back.
00:41We can't afford it.
00:42At least have a hearing to appeal their detention.
00:45Well, I'm sure they're giving a hearing on the way down back to the border.
00:48Some of them, they've been putting them in a plane and sending them to El Salvador.
00:51Well, most of those are criminals.
00:53And I'm like President Trump.
00:55We don't need to put up with any criminals in this country that are not citizen.
00:57If you're a citizen and you're a criminal, you're going to get your day in court.
01:02And some of those are not criminals and not criminals in their case.
01:06Well, that's yet to be heard.
01:08That's more for you than the media to do all the journalism and the investigation on that.
01:12They shouldn't have a hearing?
01:15Well, if they're a citizen and they're a criminal, normally they're going to get a court case.
01:22If they are not a citizen, no, I'm ready for them to go home.
01:26We can't afford them.
01:27It's costing you and I and everybody in this country a fortune to pay for people here that shouldn't be here.
01:33They're $37,3 million in debt.
01:34And I don't understand what people don't get about that.
01:36But shouldn't Trump just say, yes, I'll uphold the Constitution?
01:39Well, he is upholding the Constitution, but he wants it fast-tracked.
01:43That's what he wants.
01:44He wants it to move.
01:45And in our country, government doesn't move very fast.
01:49And as we've seen, and if the Democrats would play ball and quit trying to block everything in the world that he's doing, he might be a little bit more understanding of that.
02:02But they have played four corners of basketball, stall it, you know, push everything to the limit, don't give him what he wants.
02:09They're trying to stall because they know he's got three and a half years left.
02:12And President Trump's saying, hey, you going to play that way or you going to play this way?
02:16But by the mind, you're okay if some people who are being detained and deported don't have a hearing due process.
02:23100%.
02:24I think you round them up and you take them home.
02:27They came here, you know, they came here possibly to make a life better for them, okay?
02:34Now, I do not want this country to be overrun because we can't afford to pay for it.
02:41We can't do it.
02:42Now, I'm for giving them an opportunity to pay their way home, which they are.
02:47He said today I'd give them $1,000 to volunteer to do it.
02:50That would be a lot cheaper than what we're having to do now because it's costing hundreds of thousands of dollars,
02:55maybe, you know, probably $15,000, $20,000 for each one.
02:58So, at the end of the day, we have to make sure that we get people out of this country that we can't take care of.
03:04And how was your conversation with them when you talked about the governor, a possible governor as well?
03:09Well, we haven't started that yet.
03:12I thought you were going to talk to him at the Alabama commencement.
03:14Well, you're talking about him.
03:16Trump.
03:17Yeah, yeah, Trump.
03:18Well, I'll tell you this.
03:20People in our state are sick of it.
03:22Because we're having to spend state money, local money, city money, county money on people that shouldn't be in this country.
03:29We can't afford it.
03:30We just can't afford to be, to this point, just overrun.
03:35Now, in the past, we've been able to take care of some.
03:39We're looking at 20, 30 million people in there right now, that the borders were open, 5,000 a day.
03:44I mean, that's, we, it just doesn't go, it doesn't make sense.
03:48You can't put the, put the number to it to make this even worthwhile.
03:53Let me ask a note about that.
03:55Your conference is from Trump.
03:56You talked to him about the governor's race at the commencement last week.
04:00We've spoken several times.
04:02Well, you have, several times.
04:03Because last week you had not.
04:04Yeah.
04:05Well, I mean, yeah.
04:08Yeah.
04:09How did, how did those go?
04:10I'm going good.
04:11Yeah.
04:12Well, again, I'm not going in there until I'm running.
04:14Huh?
04:15Okay.
04:16Because I don't know yet.
04:17You still don't know?
04:18No, no.
04:19I'm, you know, I'm looking to see how things work out.
04:21Who's going to run?
04:22Possibly, you know, how much money you got to raise.
04:25That's a lot that goes into a race.
04:26You just don't say, oh, yes, I'm going to do this.
04:28I mean, it doesn't work that way.
04:29Is he urging you to run?
04:31Oh, no, no.
04:32He probably would much more like me to stay.
04:36He's telling you that?
04:37Well, I mean, he had not encouraged me to run for governor, I'll put it that way.
04:42Yeah.
04:43So he's, or do you, he's encouraging you to stay in the Senate?
04:46Well, people around him are.
04:47Yeah.
04:48Yeah.
04:49Why?
04:50I mean, I'm on his team.
04:51I was the first person to come out for him and say, I'm supporting him to run for president.
04:59You know, second down.
05:00Nobody else did for a long time.
05:01It was me, old coach up here, just standing around, just taking heat from everybody saying,
05:05he can't win, he can't win.
05:07We became good friends, talked to him all the time on the phone as we were running,
05:10introduced him at several places all over the country, travel with him.
