00:00The 2025 Polaris Razor Pro S showed up last year as part of the Razor Pro family's mid-cycle
00:06refresh. Pro S is a new name for an old model. From 2022 to 2024, this rig was known as the
00:12Polaris Razor Turbo R, but as part of the mid-cycle refresh, Polaris decided to streamline
00:17the naming convention and the Pro S was born. The update brought back Polaris' famous fang
00:23lights from the original Polaris Razor XP1000. It also added air vents to the hood, sharpened
00:28the styling, and improved the interior quality across the whole Polaris Razor Pro lineup.
00:33Polaris also tweaked the Razor Pro's mission statement. Polaris now says the Pro R is for
00:38wide open desert tracks. Think king of the hammers for weekend warriors. The smaller, narrower
00:43Pro XP, the smallest rig in the Razor Pro lineup, is for east coasters like us. It still has
00:49all the horsepower of the Razor Pro lineup, but in a narrower and shorter package, which
00:53is much better for tight trails. The machine behind me, the Razor Pro S, is for high desert
00:58two tracks, rock screes, and canyons. In short, the Razor Pro S is supposed to be the perfect
01:04balance between the all-in Razor Pro R and the everyman's Razor Pro XP. I'm Aaron, and
01:09this is everything you need to know about the 2025 Polaris Razor Pro S Ultimate. So what's
01:15the first thing you need to know about the Polaris Razor Pro S? Well, it's fast. Like, real
01:20fast. It has 181 horsepower, thanks to a turbocharged version of Polaris' Pro Star 925 CC parallel twin.
01:28That engine is mated to Polaris' PVT, which is a continuously variable automatic. Now,
01:34the Pro S and the Pro XP do sometimes get unfairly overshadowed by some of their 200 horsepower
01:40competition. But trust me, 181 horsepower is more than enough for most people. Suffice it
01:45to say that we bet most of you won't be complaining that the Polaris Pro S is slow. The PVT transmission
01:51backing up that engine gets high, low, reverse, neutral, and park. And there's honestly not
01:56much to write home about here. It's a transmission. It transmits power from the engine to the wheels.
02:01Moving right along. Scratch that. There is one more thing we should mention about the transmission,
02:05and it's this shifter. You have heard us blast on about this before. The Pro S does get the improved
02:10low-range gear that the Pro R gets, but the shifter is still too clunky in a rig this expensive. So we've
02:16established that it's fast. The next question is, how big is it? And well, this one's kind of
02:19interesting. It's pretty big. Now, this thing is just over 10.5 feet long, and it has a 96-inch
02:25or 8-foot wheelbase. That's pretty tidy considering its desert-ripping aspirations, but here's the
02:30thing. It plays much bigger than that in person. That is thanks to its 74-inch track width, which is
02:36the same as the Razor Pro R. It's also 74 inches tall, and these chunky ROPS bars add to the sense of
02:43mass. Overall, it just looks and feels pretty big in person. That size translates to the scales.
02:48Polaris says this thing weighs 2,142 pounds dry. That means without fuel or fluids. So ready to rip,
02:55you're looking at much closer to 2,300 pounds. Remember, this is a sport rig, so you only get
03:00300 pounds of bed capacity back here and 730 pounds of overall capacity. You also get 16 inches of ground
03:08clearance. This model is the Top Dog Pro S Ultimate, which wears Fox 3.0 Live Valve X2 shocks front and rear.
03:16Those shocks are internal bypass, and they are controlled by Polaris' excellent Dynamics DV suspension.
03:22Dynamics DV has four built-in modes. You get Comfort, Rock, Track, and Baja. Comfort, as you can imagine,
03:29sets the compression and rebound as soft as they will go, while the other modes adjust the
03:34suspension to suit the terrain. Track and Baja are the stiffest two modes, while Rock sits somewhere
03:39between Comfort and the racier settings. The system is controlled by these buttons on the steering
03:44wheel. You can use the arrows to cycle through the modes, and the suspension adjusts on the fly.
03:48The Pro S Ultimate also gets the Dynamic button. If you push this once, it sets the suspension as
03:54stiff as it will go for a few seconds. Or, you can double click it, and it will stay full stiff until
03:59you double click it again. That's nice if you run into an unexpected section of trail while you're
04:03ripping and you need everything as firm as it will go, but you don't want to put it in the firmest setting
04:08permanently. Now, Dynamics' double click function is new this year, and we absolutely love it. The
04:13Ultimate trim is the nicest in the Pro S lineup, and that means that Polaris threw a deep roster of
04:19creature comforts at it. Among a bunch of other stuff, it gets electronic power steering and these
04:24excellent sport seats which were lifted from the Expedition. You also get fixed four-point harnesses.
04:29Polaris also says they made a big effort to improve the quality of the materials on the interior over the
04:35outgoing Turbo R. These body color plastic inserts on the interior are really nice. We like the
04:40redesigned center stack, but overall the interior still lags behind the likes of the Can-Am Maverick R.
04:46Polaris' ace in the hole, however, as always, is the excellent ride command system. It comes with this
04:52slick 7-inch display. There are more than a million miles of mapped trails in here. It will do rig-to-rig
04:58communication, GPS navigation, and a whole bunch of other stuff, and it controls one of our other
05:03favorite features of the Pro S, the 1400-watt Rockford Fosgate stereo system. This thing has a
05:0910-inch sub, six speakers, and it will connect to your phone via Bluetooth. It's really slick,
05:14and you can hear it great out on the trail. There are also controls for the stereo on the steering
05:17wheel on the opposite side of the dynamics controls. So the Razer Pro S Ultimate packs a huge
05:23amount of performance and a lot of comfort in a pretty tight package, but to get the top spec model,
05:28expect to open your wallet. The two-door 2025 Polaris Razer Pro S Ultimate will set you back $36,999
05:37before destination, taxes, or dealer fees. If you need the four-door, the Pro S jumps up to $39,999
05:44or well past $40,000 by the time you're out the door. We should add that we're not taking into account
05:49any dealer discounts or other incentives that your local power sports place might be offering,
05:54so always check before you buy. The good news is that the Pro S is available in three trim levels,
06:00so if you can't get your head around $37,000 for a side-by-side, you can always step down to the
06:05premium or sport trim level. The premium does get ride command, but it makes do with manually
06:10adjustable suspension, and it doesn't have a roof. The two-door Polaris Razer Pro S Premium retails for
06:16$30,999, and the four-door is $33,999. At the bottom of the range is the Pro S Sport,
06:23which does without the nav, the stereo, the electronic suspension, the harnesses, or the roof.
06:28It gets the same manually adjustable Walker Evans 2.5 needle shocks as the premium model,
06:34and it retails for $26,999 for the two-door or $29,999 for the four-door. So that's everything
