00:00Let's go to Cincinnati and talk about Andrew Abbott.

00:02He has two road starts against Atlanta and Houston, respectively.

00:06Joe, your thoughts on Andrew Abbott as a two-start pitcher for this week?

00:11Well, Cincinnati is that all-or-nothing team, right?

00:13That's what they've become so far, at least in 2025.

00:17There's opportunity there for them to grow into more,

00:19and Abbott's been pretty solid this year.

00:2119 innings, 23 strikeouts.

00:23He's given up just 12 hits in those 19 innings,

00:25so that's been the secret sauce.

00:26He's 2-0 over four starts,

00:28but it's the fact that he hasn't given up a lot of hits.

00:30The whip is at 1.26, which is about where you'd want him to be,

00:34and then a 2.84 ERA.

00:36Again, it's a small sample size, but it's been a good sample size.

00:38He's going against Atlanta and Houston.

00:41Now, those are two lineups that are typically pretty good,

00:43but I don't know if they're clicking on all cylinders.

00:45Alvarez has been dealing with an injury right in Houston.

00:48They got bailed out yesterday by their nine-hitter, Jake Myers,

00:50who had a bunch of home runs,

00:51so they haven't necessarily been clicking on all cylinders.

00:54And the Atlanta Braves is a little up and down as well.

00:57Now, considering he's going against Blanco and Smith-Shauver,

01:00I think I would throw Andrew Abbott out there.

01:02I think he's been solid enough,

01:03and you hope that he comes away maybe with one win of these two

01:06and gives you a quality start and is competitive in both these games.

01:11They're both on the road.

01:13That's the one thing that you got to wonder about.

01:14Okay, like, you know, road starts are always more difficult, right?

01:17But at the same time, I think Andrew Abbott,

01:20on a two-start week, I would take my chances.

01:22He's been solid enough.
