Innocentrix question US fraud case  Executives of Innocentrix, a Cebu-based business process outsourcing company, have questioned the $44 million figure cited by the US Department of Justice in connection with a fraud investigation.   At a press conference on May 5, 2025, Innocentrix CEO Mike Sordilla and Vice President Bryan Tarosa, currently detained in the US, through their spokesman Oliver Baclay, maintained their innocence and rejected the allegations.   Baclay clarified that the actual transaction value was just over $2 million.  He denied claims that the company targeted elderly authors and emphasized that while the publishing industry typically appeals to older individuals, it also welcomed younger authors. 01:07So, yung key terms doon, yung 44 million dollars and the elderly authors.

01:14Yung elderly authors, na-explain ko na po yung last time that no, there's no such thing as targeting elderly authors.

01:21It just so happens na yung target market in the publishing industry, most of the time,

01:26are also elderly because sila po yung may mga stories, may mga experiences.

01:31And most of the time, they are the target market na mayroon na silang experience

01:35that are worthy to share and emulating and they have those romantic stories that are worthy to publish

01:41or stories from bravery, katapahan, and incredible stories.

01:45But, if you are someone na young, but then you still have that stories and you have a romantic story,

01:53then you can still be published.

01:55And we have, we show, we shared to you last time, yung mga young authors na na-publish them

02:59So, last time, I think po, may nag-mention that the next trial date hearing date was on May.

03:04It was moved to August, so mas na-delay.

03:06I mean, and then, a couple minutes of delay is the fact that there's no basis yet for the $44 million.

03:13And we've been waiting for that.

03:15At saka, important mo, kasi ito yung $44 million, ito yung na-publish na USDOJ.

03:20And this $44 million was also published in various news outlets.

03:25Pag nakita nyo yung various news outlets, ito yung nakakagat talagang ng attention ng public.

03:29Ah, $44 million scam niyan, big-time scam.

03:34We requested us the basis for the $44 million, there's no basis.

03:38We conducted our own investigation,

03:41and it turns out that the transaction value involved is just a little over $2 million.

03:47So, $2 million na po.

03:49Doon sa $2 million,

03:50$1.6 million competed,

03:53what they call fulfilled.
