00:00Thanks to Todd and his team, we now have Kal-El's cousin.
00:04Here's your look at the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse, The Page Puncher, Infinite Frontier, Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow, Supergirl.
00:10An alien girl seeks out a melancholy directionalist Kara Zor-El to help her take revenge on the bad guys that destroyed her world.
00:35And now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.
00:44She has a cape. She has a comic.
00:45Before we actually look at both, we're going to take the tape and we're going to see how tall the Infinite Frontier, Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow actually is.
00:51This is a Page Puncher's release that's seemed to have been hard to find as of late.
00:55I was able, lucky enough, to find this one on the Facebook selling groups, but I know that people have said for themselves,
01:00this one's a hard figure to find, and even when they find him, it's going for some stupid money.
01:04Not yet at the crazy prices of what Wonder Woman's going for.
01:08For those that have asked if I'm ever going to get around to looking at that Wonder Woman,
01:11so far the prices of what I've seen, the lowest that I've seen, it's about $160.
01:15I don't want a Wonder Woman that bad.
01:17And I'm sure, ultimately, though, we're probably going to be getting ourselves a Silver Age release of her.
01:20I think I'm just going to wait it out until eventually a better Wonder Woman comes along.
01:24Back, though, to Supergirl.
01:25The tape manager's going to tell us, so I'm reading this right.
01:28She's going to be about six and three quarters of an inch in height.
01:31Oh, I just realized I rhymed.
01:32That's going to work out, though, to a figure.
01:34That's about 16 and a half centimeters tall.
01:36In a soon-to-be-showing-you-included comic, Supergirl, in a lot of the panels, is seen along with Crypto, the Superdog.
01:42So I did want to bring him in for that.
01:44No, he's not actually part of this release.
01:46But, though, he was included with the mullet Superman.
01:49Even though I don't really have him displayed along with that Supes.
01:52What Supes I have him displayed, though, is now the new Silver Age Superman.
01:56Because I think it works a little bit better.
01:57Silver Age Superman is now my ideal look for Superman.
02:00And I think Crypto belongs better with him.
02:02Now, seeing as we also are looking at a Super Pet, let's bring in also Streaky.
02:07Streaky, yeah, I know.
02:08Doesn't actually come included with Supergirl either.
02:10But it came included, though, instead with Power Girl.
02:12Power Girl, still to compare her with all the other figures we've gotten so far.
02:16Even though she's having a little harder time to stand.
02:18She's a little top-heavy.
02:19Actually, Streaky belonged to her.
02:22So you could maybe choose instead to have it displayed now with a smaller Supergirl that obviously fits the colors and the outfit a little bit more closer to Kal-El.
02:30I've got a little bit of also space over here.
02:32Even though we really never get the chance to bring this guy in.
02:34I also want to bring in one of Superman's most recognizable baddies.
02:37Here's what they also look like with armor-clad Lex Luthor.
02:40Oh, wait.
02:41You're telling me she doesn't have a dog?
02:42She doesn't have a cat.
02:43What does Supergirl have instead?
02:44Well, first of all, she does have a display stand.
02:47Not that the DC logo branded down below is going to be helping much at all.
02:51More of the work is going to be done by the neighboring peg that can plug into either one of her boots.
02:55I will say, though, that the peg does help quite a lot.
02:58Because the figure does have sort of sensitive ankles.
03:01Not sensitive loose, but just sensitive in the sense that you've got to balance the figure just right.
03:05Or she's going to take a tumble.
03:07So definitely hold on to this.
03:08And keep it really in the ready.
03:09You might want to just keep it nearby.
03:11The figure does also come in clear with a comic.
03:12Now, this is Infinite Frontier Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow, issue number one.
03:17The new, actually, working title that we're getting from the Supergirl upcoming movie is, in fact, the exact same, Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow.
03:23So I would imagine it's probably going to be based on the story inside the pages.
03:26Being that this is also issue number one, it doesn't mean that you have to jump in the middle of the story.
03:30You can easily start at the very beginning and flip your way pages, flip through the pages through.
03:34Of course, the animation or the drawing style may not appeal to everybody.
03:39I kind of like it, though.
03:39I really like the way that they've designed her.
03:41And, of course, she does also have her sword.
03:42The sword is featured down below here.
03:44The sword, in fact, is right over there as well.
03:46I'm going to only just flip through this quickly, just to kind of give you guys at least an idea.
03:50I don't know necessarily if I would have gone with Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow to be kind of the jumping point for the new Supergirl movie.
03:56Or if, again, that's going to be like the start of many Supergirl movies.
03:59Or if it's just going to be like a one and we're done.
04:01It is, however, though, going to be getting us Jason Momoa's Lobo, finally.
04:05I mean, he was a find for an Aquaman.
04:07But I think certainly Jason Momoa was born to play Lobo.
04:11Anyways, though, the figure does also come in clear with the trading card.
04:13The trading card is, in fact, the exact same one that we get on the front of the cover.
04:16So if you like this and you just don't have the space to put this out, you have a smaller version of that, at least, that you can put inside a trading card sheet.
04:23I like, again, the cover.
04:24I think the cover works really well.
04:26On the back of the card as well, being that this is also a page puncher, everything is done in black.
04:30Yes, yes, it does come in black.
04:32The real name is Kara Zor-El.
04:34The paragraph read, I've already taken the liberty of reading it.
04:37So it really doesn't feel any need to read this again.
04:40Let's just put this off to the side.
04:41Of the very limited things that come in clear with Supergirl, first of all, she does come in clear with the sword.
04:46I know we kind of already talked a little bit about that.
04:48The sword, I noticed, is very soft and plastic.
04:50You know, on the one end, you kind of have to think to yourself, soft plastic would work a lot easier.
04:55But then on the other end, you kind of have to play devil's advocate.
04:57If it was using a harder plastic, it would not be able to do this.
05:01It would break.
05:02And you certainly don't want it to break.
05:03I probably shouldn't have bent it as bad as I did.
05:05Anyways, the sword itself does fit into her hands, although it's not really going to be fitting into either one of these hands just yet.
05:12Swappable options are available.
05:13I like swappable options.
05:14So close fists can easily be done away with altogether for a flight hand, which, as you can see, is right there.
05:20She has really long fingers.
05:23I couldn't help but notice that.
05:26It seems almost as if she's got more than the unnecessary need of...
05:29How many knuckles does she have?
05:31One, two?
05:32Does she have three knuckles?
05:33I don't think that's right.
05:34Maybe I'm just looking at that thinking I'm seeing more knuckles.
05:37And then the finger also comes in clear with a gripping hand.
05:39To swap out the hands, by the way, you may want to tread cautiously.
05:43And the reasoning why I say that is that these pegs...
05:46Let me just detach one of them so I can show you what's going on.
05:49If you detach one peg...
05:51I noticed that the way that these are designed...
05:52These are standard pegs, by the way.
05:54And they're just basically sandwiched together, two halves.
05:56If you detach the hand...
05:58I've noticed a couple of times the peg easily separates from itself.
06:01I'm only going to kind of pry it away a little bit so you guys can hopefully see what I'm talking about.
06:05So, you know, it might be best advised to kind of hold it by the peg as you're twisting off the hand.
06:11You don't have to really make the noise while you're doing that.
06:13So let's take the hand that we want to use.
06:15We'll just plug it in place.
06:17It may also help as well just to kind of twist the hand back and forth until eventually it gets on there.
06:21So that's one side.
06:23Let's do it on the other side as well.
06:25Do we want to do it on both sides or do we want to keep the closed fist?
06:27Closed fist works good too.
06:29You know, unless I really had a flight stand, which the figure doesn't have one.
06:32I don't think I've really seen myself ever displaying her with...
06:35Okay.
06:36We started the journey.
06:37We might as well at least finish it.
06:38So let's just go ahead and wiggle it.
06:40There we go.
06:40That was a lot easier.
06:41And we'll just take then the new hand.
06:43Plug it.
06:44Oh, wait.
06:45Stop.
06:45Twist it as you're plugging it.
06:48And now she's got herself sort of a flight hand.
06:50But again, like she doesn't have a flight stand.
06:51So it sort of seems redundant to give her a hand that looks like this.
06:55What you really, I'm sure, want to see is that how does she hold the sword?
06:58Well, she holds it okay.
06:59Let's go ahead and get that in there, first of all.
07:01And then we'll talk a little bit about it.
07:04It's a combination, really, first of all, of a small handle and a larger grip.
07:07Now, you could go in there, granted, and heat the hand a little bit in hot water.
07:11I might just end up doing that because the sword itself feels a little loose in her grip.
07:16The sword also does look a little bit like the Sword of Omens.
07:18A little bit.
07:20It kind of looks actually more like Mumra's sword.
07:22Remember the sword that Mumra had kind of curled on the ends?
07:26Anyways, the sword itself looks good.
07:28I mean, nicely done in silver.
07:29Some people may not look at this and think right away,
07:31hey, Supergirl really does belong with the sword.
07:33But again, like if you're familiar with the comic, then the sword makes more sense.
07:37I probably won't end up displaying her.
07:39I don't know.
07:39I don't know.
07:40She has an accessory.
07:41I mean, you know, again, you kind of have to think of both sides of it.
07:44If she doesn't have an accessory in her hand,
07:46she does have one technically.
07:48Would it sort of make no sense to put it back in the bag?
07:51Okay, I'll probably display her with the sword at least for right now.
07:54I won't do it right now at least.
07:55Obviously, we're going to want to look at the rest of the figure.
07:58We're going to also start things going first with her head sculpt.
08:01I like her head sculpt,
08:03but there's something a little bit jarring about the way they've sculpted her face.
08:06With her eyebrows low like this,
08:08it actually kind of looks like a guy's come up to her in a bar and tried to pick her up.
08:11And she's sort of just kind of looking over at the guy.
08:13He's like, excuse me,
08:15I couldn't help but notice you looking at me from across the room.
08:17And then she sort of just turns to the guy.
08:20Kind of like that.
08:21What did you just say?
08:22And if you don't know anything about Wonder, about Supergirl,
08:25you probably may want to back up just a bit and just leave the bar altogether
08:28because bad things are going to be coming your way.
08:30I like the head sculpt.
08:31I will say, though, like the sterner expression on her face,
08:34I think probably could have worked better if they give her just not as angry of an eyebrow.
08:39Because you'd have to think, really,
08:40if the eyebrows are sort of dictating the emotion that this figure's face has right now,
08:44if we had only just relaxed the eyebrows,
08:47made instead those lightning bolts into happy little rainbow shapes instead.
08:51I think probably the face wouldn't look as so serious as it does right now.
08:56I do like the face.
08:57I don't know if I like how stern and angry she actually looks.
09:00One thing I certainly will say I like is the coloring that they did for the hair.
09:04I like that they've been in curls.
09:05And I like that each of the individual curls have, first of all,
09:08a darker brown paint added in there.
09:10And then they've only brushed the tip gently.
09:13Bob Ross gently.
09:14Just add a little bit of blonde to the ends of it as well.
09:17It gives her that layered look and it works really well for the character.
09:21I would imagine like the suit is probably going to stay somewhat similar
09:24when we get the live action version of Supergirl.
09:26She's going to have what I see.
09:28From what I've seen, at least, she's going to still have the skirting.
09:30And a classic, I wouldn't even say classic.
09:33I mean, she's going to have somewhat the similar looking Superman outfit
09:35as what we've already gotten with the Superman film.
09:37So it's going to have, again, like a very simplified Superman logo.
09:40It's not certainly going to look like this at all.
09:42But if you like the look of Silver Age Superman,
09:45now I'm dropping things all around me.
09:47If you like the look of this Superman,
09:49the emblem is going to be very similar.
09:50In fact, actually, kind of to look at the colors alone,
09:52the blues are very much identical.
09:54I don't know if I would say like the reds are pretty close.
09:56Like if you look at the boots down below,
09:58she seems to have a little bit more orange to her red.
10:01A little more of a ketchup red.
10:02But both of them do certainly benefit from the fact
10:04that if you look at the back of the figure's bodies,
10:06not only are there emblems on the backs of the capes,
10:08but the capes are also fabric.
10:11So, of course, that does mean also.
10:13Interesting, though, that they chose to put a wire on the bottom of the cape.
10:16Superman hasn't had that.
10:18And most of the time,
10:19maybe it's actually even just more of the females
10:21that seem to be getting them.
10:22Wires tend to only really be on the sides.
10:25Very few times we've actually seen ourselves wires along the bottom.
10:27And maybe it is one of those things that female figures tend to have that
10:31more than the male figures.
10:32I would have really preferred more
10:34if they've just put the wire on either side
10:36and just left the bottom down below
10:38just to have a natural drape.
10:40By adding a wire down below here,
10:41it sort of bogs the cape down.
10:43I feel like also maybe like the cape is a little too long.
10:46To look at back in the source material,
10:48I guess it does sort of change too.
10:50Because if, again, you look at the comic,
10:51it would almost even suggest the idea
10:53by at least the way they've drawn it,
10:55that that cape drags along the bottom.
10:58And really, that's not the way that Supergirl's cape should really be.
11:02Some things that they have, though, missed
11:03is they haven't painted the ends of her feet.
11:05So like, actually, in the comics,
11:07she has more gold on the end,
11:08but they just kind of left that off.
11:09It's not a deal breaker at all.
11:12I do like that they've added the gold to the top.
11:14The gold isn't really quite the same color as her belt,
11:17which is a bit of a jarring thing.
11:18But overall, though, like the sculpting of the cape
11:20and the overall execution of the costume
11:22looks really good on the figure.
11:24And of course, again, like she does have the wire built into the cape.
11:26So for the figure's articulation,
11:28going back to Supergirl's head sculpt,
11:30which again, like she just seems so annoyed
11:33with the situation right now.
11:34I've had similar circumstances,
11:36not going into a bar and trying to pick up somebody
11:38where I had this look shot over at me,
11:40but I've had sometimes a similar look like that on my face,
11:43although my curls aren't as long as hers.
11:45For the figure's articulation,
11:46yeah, Supergirl's head is going to rotate back and forth.
11:49Struggling, you may actually have just because again,
11:51like there's so much curls on the one side of her face
11:54that when you do rotate it,
11:56you feel like you turn it and then it sort of just drops down,
11:59especially when you turn it this way.
12:01So there's a little bit of also struggle
12:03just because again,
12:04like there's so much sculpting on either side of her hair.
12:06Head can only look up about that high.
12:08I mean, it's one of those cases,
12:10obviously, if you blinked and you may have just missed it.
12:12It looks down certainly a lot better than it does look up
12:15because again, there's so much hair on the back of her body.
12:18Her arms, yeah, rotate all the way around.
12:19There's no issues at all with those,
12:21nor is there any issues at all getting her in the T-pose.
12:24You can easily bring those arms out at 90 degrees.
12:26There is a swivel at the bicep.
12:28Figure does have, nice to see,
12:29a double hinge on the elbows
12:30and the hands rotate all the way around.
12:33I would be missing a point to mention as well
12:35that the figure I noticed getting out of the packaging
12:37seemed a little loose,
12:38a little loose on this side of her elbows.
12:40This other elbow isn't bad at all.
12:42I mean, I can easily get a very strong bend in hers,
12:44but on the other side, though,
12:45I couldn't help but notice getting her out of the packaging.
12:48Not that it's loose,
12:48not like it's going to start to drop on me.
12:51If anything, at least she's going to only hold the sword
12:53on one side anyways.
12:54So this is the side that really is the more important side
12:57to have stiff joints.
12:58But it's a bit of a bummer
12:59to find the figure getting out of the packaging
13:01is already loose like this.
13:03She has upper torso bulge, right?
13:05Yeah, yeah.
13:05And the figure does also have the bulge
13:07down below at the base of her abdomen.
13:09The legs still split.
13:11And even though she does have the skirting,
13:12you would kind of think that that's going to get in the way.
13:14The skirting, there is at least enough clearance
13:16on both sides that splitting the legs
13:18doesn't seem to be as much of an issue.
13:20There is a swivel,
13:22a little bit of swivel at the top of the thigh.
13:24Not much, though.
13:25The figure does have a double hinge on the knee.
13:27You know, again,
13:28pointing out a few things there, too.
13:29While the colors are consistent,
13:31the blues match nicely.
13:32I mean, the joints don't look offsetting at all.
13:35One thing about the knees, unfortunately,
13:37though, is that the boots,
13:38the main boot, obviously, is a lighter red.
13:41Unfortunately, though,
13:41they chose a plastic for the pegs,
13:43at least for the knee joints.
13:44It's a different darker red.
13:46And unfortunately, it does stand out
13:47when you see it from the top.
13:48While you see the red on either side,
13:50it clearly isn't the same color
13:51as the knee in the middle.
13:52But anyways, though,
13:53she does have a double hinge in the knee.
13:55Ankle pivot back and forth.
13:56Again, you've got darker ankle pegs.
13:58I wish they were a lighter color.
14:00Ankle pivot up and down.
14:01Ankle rocker back and forth.
14:03And yeah, Supergirl does also have
14:04toe articulation as well.
14:06One of those figures that I know
14:08a lot of people have had a hard time to find.
14:10Luckily, again,
14:11like you may even want to,
14:12instead of like going to places
14:14where you would normally think
14:15to find a Supergirl,
14:16your online sites, for example,
14:18that normally sell action figures,
14:20even eBay,
14:21all might be places where,
14:23I would imagine probably like
14:24if you're buying this,
14:24say, for example,
14:25from an online toy site,
14:27those probably were already sold out.
14:29Next option probably would be like,
14:31let's check eBay.
14:32Let's check eBay.
14:32Don't check eBay,
14:33whatever you do,
14:34because that's where you're going to start
14:35to see the higher prices of Supergirl.
14:37Check, though, instead,
14:38if you have the options available.
14:40Go to places like the Facebook selling groups.
14:42A lot of times, again,
14:42you can kind of find good figures
14:44at decent deals,
14:45unless, of course,
14:46you're finding yourself sellers
14:47that just knock the prices up,
14:49knowing how hard it is
14:50to find figures like this.
14:52Supergirl, in the end,
14:53I think I'd end up scoring
14:54for about $50,
14:56which may seem high for some,
14:58but when you consider, though,
14:59the prices of what she's going for
15:00in the aftermarket,
15:01a $50 figure,
15:02especially as good as Supergirl here,
15:05isn't that bad at all.
15:07For the casting of Supergirl,
15:08Woman of Tomorrow,
15:09they've decided to go with
15:09young actress Millie Alcock.
15:11I'm not familiar with many of her works.
15:13Probably the thing I recognize her the most
15:14is House of the Dragon.
15:16I think she's good in House of the Dragon.
15:18I know some people sort of looked at Millie
15:19and thought,
15:20I don't know,
15:20that's a bit of an odd casting.
15:22I think she works well for Supergirl.
15:23My only really concern that I have is,
15:25can she fill in the Kryptonian suit?
15:28Not that she's super muscular.
15:29She doesn't have to be,
15:30like a Wonder Woman.
15:31But I would hope that she's able
15:32to fill in the suit
15:33and make it look like
15:34she fits the part rather well.
15:36Speaking of fitting the part rather well,
15:38I think this is really one
15:39of the better looking Supergirls.
15:40Really, when you think about it,
15:41how many Supergirls
15:42have we really ever gotten?
15:44There's one from The Flash,
15:45which was not my ideal look
15:46for the character.
15:47If you want to cast
15:49the perfect Supergirl
15:50and really get that
15:51definitive look down,
15:52I like the blonde curls myself.
15:54The brunette Supergirl,
15:55some may like that.
15:56I was a big fan of it myself
15:57because I know they were really
15:59trying to get a casting
16:00where she looked like
16:01she could be related
16:02to Henry Cavill's Superman.
16:03I think on the contrast to that,
16:05Supergirl really always,
16:06for me,
16:07was always a blonde clad character
16:08with a skirt
16:09and a Superman emblem
16:10on the front.
16:11And this figure checks off
16:12all those boxes really well.
16:14It also benefits,
16:16again,
16:16from having a fabric cape.
16:18The fabric cape has a wire
16:19that runs on the sides
16:20and on the bottom.
16:21I know some people
16:22don't really like the wire
16:23running on the bottom.
16:23It seems more like
16:24female figures have that
16:26and male figures don't.
16:27It might just be also
16:29the way that they want
16:29a natural drape
16:30on male figures.
16:31With female figures,
16:32especially ones
16:32with having shorter capes
16:33like this,
16:34it gives you then a chance
16:35to kind of go in there
16:36and manipulate the cape.
16:37So it really can get
16:38some cool dynamic poses going.
16:40The only one thing
16:41I don't think I like
16:42on this figure
16:42is the fact that she does
16:43come in clue
16:44with a karate chopping hand.
16:45I know that's not really
16:46the hand and what
16:46it's intended for.
16:47It's really intended
16:48to be in a flight pose.
16:50But then if you don't
16:51give the figure
16:52a flight stand,
16:53it seems really out of place
16:54to give her a hand for that.
16:55I mean, obviously,
16:57I have to kind of think
16:57of as a first-time collector.
16:59As a long-time collector,
17:00I can easily go
17:01to my box of flight stands.
17:03I think I may have even
17:03written on the box
17:04flight stands.
17:05I can go to that
17:06and I can grab
17:07a flight stand easily.
17:08But for a first-time collector
17:10that's never picked up
17:11a DC Multiverse figure before,
17:13getting now a flight hand
17:14probably makes no sense at all
17:16when I think a relaxed hand
17:17would have worked
17:17just as well.
17:19As for her accessories,
17:20outside of a display stand,
17:21of course,
17:22the comic and the trading card,
17:24she has the option available
17:25of swappable hands.
17:26I know we already
17:27kind of talked about that
17:27and the sword.
17:28Some may look at the sword
17:29and think that's a bit
17:30an out-of-place accessory.
17:32But if you're familiar,
17:33though, with the comic,
17:34the sword makes perfect sense.
17:36Have you guys had the chance
17:36to find Supergirl?
17:37Let me know down below
17:38in the comment section.
17:39This is one of those cases, too,
17:40I think, where Two-Face,
17:42maybe Two-Face wasn't,
17:43Supergirl, I heard,
17:44was one of those victims
17:45of the, I think there was
17:47a truck break-in
17:48or something happened
17:49to a truck of stock
17:50and because of that,
17:51Supergirl's become
17:52a little harder
17:52and scarcer to find.
17:53If that is the case,
17:55expect the prices of her
17:56to start to go up
17:57as she becomes
17:58a little harder to find.
17:59I didn't have too hard
18:00of a time to find her.
18:01I went on the Facebook
18:02selling group
18:02and sure enough,
18:03there was somebody
18:03selling her for around $50.
18:05I jumped at that right away
18:07because I thought,
18:07okay, if I wait any longer,
18:09the prices of a car's RL
18:10is going to skyrocket
18:11a little bit more.
18:13Have you guys, though,
18:13had a chance to find this one?
18:14Let me know down below
18:15in the comment section.
